for anyone struggling with the bar chords you can play it much easier by barring just half of the strings on the GBe side of the neck instead of all six strings and it still sounds great. Just focus on the lower four strings, though it doesn't matter too much if you strike the low E or A string on accident, just have fun and find what sounds good to you! All I'm gonna say is if it sounds weird when you try and play, just keep doing it anyway. The muscles in your fingers will build up and it'll start to sound good eventually.

that one gamer I actually stopped using guitar for like 2-3 years and before I stopped I never knew how to do barre chords, I did try doing but still a nope nope. Then when I came back I got fund to this song and realized that I had to learn barre chords in order to play it nicely. It took me some weeks to be able to play barre chords but with the buzzing sounds then 2 months or less I think to be able to do it without the buzzing sound. I’m a slow learner so it might be different in your case. And also search up on how to actually do it because there are ways to do it effectively.
for anyone struggling with the barring, ive never tried it before this video and at first it seemed and FELT impossible, i was sadbc i just wanted to play the song, but i swear after like 15 minutes trying it over and over again and practicing it its sooo much easier like my hands fit now idk i can kinda do it. also ofc my hand hurts i can barely feel it but really don t give up just practice it rn!

Breh so just got back into playing & writing & I just bought pretty much that same Taylor you’re using. I was in a rut & my house flooded about 6 months ago, I’m a former employee at the PRS factory in MD & I had some very special, sentimental guitars that I built from scratch destroyed in the flood. Crazy how just having this acoustic to pluck around with has made my days increasingly better. Thank you for providing me some of the best & most accessible, stripped down lessons I’ve seen on TH-cam. I’m saving up to join your course but in the meantime I will mirror you with my Taylor as you help me re-discover my passion for making beautiful sounds. Love you Marty.
It’s not easy but you make it so easy - simple format to learn a song. Makes me feel it’s not hopeless to relearn guitar and enjoy it. Used to play classical as a teenager. How the hell did I do that?!? Foreign to me now.

Marty I swear I'll tell you what bro, I relate to you more than anybody else on this app. I can understand your method of teaching, just like I can Rick Martino, several years back explaining the golf swing. During that time there were numerous teachers, on how to swing a golf club and how to put and how to chip that I could not relate to, until I saw Rick Martino, he explained everything so well that it lowered my golf score, just like Rick Martino, you're my Rick Martino of the guitar. I can relate to you and I love how you teach bro, I am having some issues though with the second part of dust in the wind, and the transitioning to the course but you da man
Asides from being an excellent musician, Marty Schwartz is capable of what few others on youtube can do, which is to teach brilliantly. Much like most beginners, I found the process of learning daunting and scary at the start, but it was an absolute joy to sit through your lessons. Keep up the good work, man!

Would just like to say that as an older player who struggled to learn to play, since I've found your channel I've been inspired to try again. Thank you very much
Thank you so much Marty! I've only been playing guitar for 2 weeks and everything I learned was through you. Once again thank you so much and I hope this channel grows a ton.
A cool thing about this song is that if you play the barre chord version of G, you can shift each chord up or down the fret board to play it in a whatever key you feel like :)
Thank you so much Marty! I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to learn guitar for the past year and after I was suggested your videos... I have progressed so much in just two weeks! Thank you again and I can't wait to see how far your channel goes!!
You can do the strumming from the sound, if you're not sure of seeing the chords just googling them. The strumming part is d... udd.. repeat, changing chords, if you had a sense of mind you'd be able to play it by sound (the strumming I mean, but yes it's hard😅)
@@Shadow-ep8tl 😂 yeah I know what you mean, but I mean chords are easy but I needed help when he plucks certain strings cuz it’s not just full on dudd etc.
Marty, I’m a fan of yours already for so long. And when I tipped in how to play creep from Radiohead and you popped up as one of my first results I was really happy to see your face and hear your voice again. I really hope the TH-cam thing is fully working out for you and you will help more and more people with your beautiful teachings!! Thank you for your work ❤️
Hi Marty, I'm loving your new channel! It has finally inspired me to learn barre chords! I have a request... anything Prince would be much appreciated. Cheers.
My greatest guitar teachers: Ms. B.J. Stromquist in 7th grade at Sepulveda Jr. High school, Anthony at Texas Blues Alley and this dude here Marty at Marty Music. Learned more from them than anywhere else in the universe. I swear, anything that I wanna play, Marty has it on his channel.
marty , you teach much better than Luke vest , I love the way you care about beginners , and that you repeat sections so I don't have to keep rewinding . your brilliant mate , keep it up . I've stopped searching now I've found you . your the best , much love from England (UK) .
You do a good job man. Been learning from you for years. I used to find you annoying. But your consistent. If you consistently annoy me that means I love you if I still listen. You the man. Thank you for the last 15 years.

Hi Marty, I recently bought a guitelele to keep my mind from going into deep depression. I decided the other day this was the first song I want to learn. My favourite song of all time is Going to California by Led Zeppelin. Can you please make tutorial about that song? Much appreciated! I can't wait to go through your content!
When you were here before, Couldn't look you in the eye, You're just like an angel, Your skin makes me cry, You float like a feather, In a beautiful world, I wish I was special, [Album version:] You're so fucking special. [Clean version:] You're so very special. [Chorus:] But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo, What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here. I don't care if it hurts, I want to have control, I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice, When I'm not around, [Album version:] You're so fucking special, [Clean version:] You're so very special, I wish I was special. [Chorus:] But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo, What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here. Oh, oh She's running out again, She's running out... She run run run run... Run... Really like your straight forward style (especially the optional easier ways to play the same song, when applicable). You and "shut up and play" are my go to guys when I can't figure a song out. Thanks for your time and talent.
I just cannot hit the B string when I try to bar.... it is the most insanely frustrating thing I've been trying to do on guitar. I really think my anatomy just won't let it happen
Larry Marvin I'm officially at 7 months playing guitar and am stuck on what I should learn lol. I can do the solo from "One and Fdae to black-Metallica". I really want to play more of the chili peppers, like can't stop, but that percussive muting is damn impossible for me to do fast. I can play the intro and chorus to under the bridge tho. Any recommendations on what I should practice?
Mark. Keep at it. What happens is your brain does its magic while you're sleeping...and one morning you'll wake up and find you can do it! That happened to me with another song that I couldn't get my little finger to hit a string for the life of me. Then one day it just happened.
I just started playing guitar for a week and I find barre chords very easy, they are my fav. In fact, if a songs doesn’t have barre chords I find that I give up on it quicker. Do I just have tough ass fingers? Cause everyone seems to not like barre chords?

You're the man Marty! I've been watching your videos for a long time, and I always enjoy your spirit and how fun you make your lessons. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for supporting and helping spread the word on "MartyMusic" right here Michael! All my best!
I really appreciate the support for MY new channel right here at "MartyMusic"
A cool thing about this song is that if you play the barre chord version of G, you can shift each chord up or down the fret board to play it in a whatever key you feel like :)
You're so my new best friend! I can't wait to get home from work so my bud can teach me how to play my favorite songs...I thank you for this
Thank you so much Marty! I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to learn guitar for the past year and after I was suggested your videos... I have progressed so much in just two weeks! Thank you again and I can't wait to see how far your channel goes!!
Loved the part when he explained the strumming pattern and showed the finger placement
yeah, except for the chords he explained absolutely nothing!
@@actuallynevermind3962 yeah man, it's hard asf to play, but they're aliens, so if you can manage to do it perfectly than all hail
Playing this song daily from start to finish is my daily barre chord exercise 🤚💪 Thanks Marty!
5:36 Marty becomes thom yorke
This was surprisingly easy. Thanks for the simplistic tutorial, I feel like you teach very clearly!
0:44 idk why but that made me laugh waay more when it should've. Your eyes remind me of a startled animal crossing character.
omg ur right
Ajajajajajajajajaj don't do this
Me to 😂😂😂
The golden years of TH-cam great job on your success mr. Marty
You really are the best out there Marty! Plus you cover some of my favourite artists like the beatles and bob Dylan..
So much appreciation for you!
Thank you for your work
❤️
Subbed. Because you asked so nicely. Good luck to you, sir.
Thank you. Most excellent.
Hi Marty, I'm loving your new channel! It has finally inspired me to learn barre chords! I have a request... anything Prince would be much appreciated. Cheers.
I've been playing guitar, for over 50 years my son and my daughter I have been taught by me. You taught me a new song today! You're my new son
Brother! How long have you been teaching!!?? I feel like I’ve been watching you since a teenager ! You pretty much taught me how to play guitar
marty you’ve taught me not only almost every song i know, but you taught me how to play guitar. been here 7 years now! thank you so much Marty 🔥
Better than ever Marty, great video. Loving the new format. Thanks!
thanks so much Elwood! so glad to have MartyMusic!!!!
My greatest guitar teachers: Ms. B.J. Stromquist in 7th grade at Sepulveda Jr. High school, Anthony at Texas Blues Alley and this dude here Marty at Marty Music. Learned more from them than anywhere else in the universe. I swear, anything that I wanna play, Marty has it on his channel.
damn, i legit cannot do the bar chords it sounds so bad lmao
capo is best then. try out easier versions using capo. there are always many.
Hannah Witt Try power chords first.
Hannah Witt just keep at it, I was the same way now I can get all the strings to ring out easy but just having difficulty transitioning
Same here. I can't play bar chords dues to overuse/carpal tunnel syndrome. Perhaps I should use lighter string gages.
me too
marty , you teach much better than Luke vest , I love the way you care about beginners , and that you repeat sections so I don't have to keep rewinding . your brilliant mate , keep it up . I've stopped searching now I've found you . your the best , much love from England (UK) .
Loving the new channel Marty! Keep up the good work. You have made my learning so much smoother than it was going.
I appreciate that so much Jeremy! More BRAND NEW LESSONS coming right here to "MartyMusic" my friend!
You do a good job man. Been learning from you for years. I used to find you annoying. But your consistent. If you consistently annoy me that means I love you if I still listen. You the man. Thank you for the last 15 years.
Gonna use this song as my new practice routine for bar chords - I really want to be able to do them 😫
How's it going
@@violethill4454 I can play bar chords totally fine now! I'm currently struggling with switching between open chords and bar chords.. but I'm making progress!
I love this song!!
glad to see your new channel growing marty you really deserve it,your lessons are are so good really like that your singing a little too,it really helps me to no where to change to the right chord..
I appreciate that support Andrew! All my best
I'm going to try to learn this as my first song on acoustic, thank you for the tutorial!!!
Thank you so much for this!!! I have learnt many songs from you now and you make it so simple so thanks. And also this tutorial of creep is by far the best one out there. Thank you !!!!!!!!
I like that feeling of finding a new channel, and you know it's going to be good, so you like and subscribe within the first minute of the first video you see.
Nathan Thomas If you were truely depressed you would not have any motivation or energy to even play guitar so consider yourself lucky.
@@dickJohnsonpeternah bro you just using depression as an excuse now
i just started learning guitar and i have a assignment in 3 days for guitar… i needed a song to learn this one, and it’s so easy!! thanks so much!!!
I was head- banging at the end of this vid.
Absolutely destroyed it.
Man please don’t ever ever stop making videos because really non of the other teachers are like able to me
Marty, i just love your videos. Could you do lessons for My Chemical Romance songs?
Thanks TayTay!!!
Marty Music yesss mcr
taylor R lol I thought this was my comment XD
Yeah, especially for The Ghost of You song
Mart you're the man...You teach the new and experienced.
FINALLY, im able to play this song
4:04 is that part I needed so badly, thank you
When you were here before,
Couldn't look you in the eye,
You're just like an angel,
Your skin makes me cry,
You float like a feather,
In a beautiful world,
I wish I was special,
[Album version:] You're so fucking special.
[Clean version:] You're so very special.
[Chorus:]
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo,
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here.
I don't care if it hurts,
I want to have control,
I want a perfect body,
I want a perfect soul,
I want you to notice,
When I'm not around,
[Album version:] You're so fucking special,
[Clean version:] You're so very special,
I wish I was special.
[Chorus:]
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo,
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here.
Oh, oh
She's running out again,
She's running out...
She run run run run...
Run...
Whatever makes you happy,
Whatever you want,
[Album version:] You're so fucking special,
[Clean version:] You're so very special,
I wish I was special...
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo,
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here,
I don't belong here.
Mark Campbell no I think that's common it happens to me
Mark Campbell you probably have it by now, but even though you're sick of hearing this, it comes with time. bar chords are a pain in the ass to learn
Make sure your posture and height of guitar is good to, bar chords are very difficult with a totally bent wrist on a low hanging guitar.
This piece sounds worth of learning.
Your videos are very inspiring. Without them I would have for sure abandoned playing guitar. 👍
Damn those barre chords!!! LOL Another great lesson! Thanks Marty!
When you start to sing along with Marty!!
But it sounds like a drowned cat when I sing
You're the best teacher.for real.
I just started playing guitar for a week and I find barre chords very easy, they are my fav. In fact, if a songs doesn’t have barre chords I find that I give up on it quicker. Do I just have tough ass fingers? Cause everyone seems to not like barre chords?
You don't have to rub it in dude
I love them as well
Marty - you play that like it was butter. Nice work my man.
Killed it marty! Glad you're back on youtube!
I'm so glad to be back my man!!!!
dude, I learned lighting crashes through your videos and you nailed this one. next on my list.
