I've been getting a slight jiggle in my Ram 3500 4wd shift when going over bumps and stopping. I've been worried it is a warning sign something bad is happing. I've already checked the linkage under the truck which looks good. Did yours give you and warning signs before it stopped working? thanks
No. No warning at all. I went to put it in 4x4 and the shifter just moved freely. Luckily, I found the linkage. It's worth taking a look at those rubber bushings for wear.

What part was needed
It was a rubber bushing that held the linkage in place. Super simple part, but created a real issue.
