Trend do a jig for the sashlocks.. Comes with a dozen switchable plates/guides for different size locks. .. Its the only bit i use a router for and its a god send.. But pricey but i charge a small amount extra for locks. Would it help the apprentice if he knelt down to drill the latch holes... Hard to drill straight at waist height.
You should look into a lock mortiser since you probably do over 50 doors a yr ? Me I do less cause in my area I do pre hung doors ! Were you are is a lot of solid (brick/stone) walls so you change only the door & it’s often solid core. With a lock mortiser you could do all those in an hour??? I know The old Porter Cables are favorites? Turn & burn buddy that is the name of the game !
Where do you find leads ? And customers in uk as private self employed? Im tinking to start doing tiling but im not sure where yo find customers... Thank you
I am from India how do you get orders This process is very complicated in India We lack resources and machinery I do interior wood plywood laminate decoration and furniture work in new homes guide me in which category i fall in
Look up a company that will hire you. Im really not sure. Its different in european countries, but you need insurance and other things. You can become a subcontractor where general contractors will send you jobs. It can be tricky and you have to make connections.
Look up companys and other people who do similar things in your country. Call them and start making connections. Ask to work for someone if you can to learn the ropes.
Pretty sure he knows that, being a carpenter...(I did because they taught us in college) they were already at the house, customer probably put them there 🤷🏻♂️
Youre a great example man. You are a good one!
Can you please make a video about how you find your jobs and how you work out the pricing? I appreciate your videos!
Thought you were gonna do a 'Rocky' and drink those eggs. 😂

Doors in an occupied house is the pits of a job. At least they weren't pre finished oak.
Heavy to handle no doubt and any trimming requires a refinish..can't imagine its £65 per door for those..
Regardless i do appreciate his channel.
Yh I must admit it’s probably my least favourite job. I charge at least £80 per door for this reason.
