As a SoCal resident, i can agree with the Antelope Line being boring, that’s just how it is irl. They did a fantastic job with the scenery accuracy, the route irl and in game is just boring
2:49 yeah I still remember the feeling of playing it for the first time, probably the best route of the game for me. I also liked a lot main spessart bahn cause it was nostalgic from tsw2020, and Hauptstrecke rhein rhur cause of the train variation.
My idea for a route would be the Sheffield Supertram now it's been taken control by the public/council it would make a good route to include the 21.5 miles of the entire network including the tram train line to Rotherham Parkgate . You also get the Blue route Halfway - Malin Bridge, yellow Meadowhall - Middlewood and the once Per hour purple route Herdings park - Cathedral (could also extend to Meadowhall if needed). Trains /trams siemens Duewag trams built in the 1990s and have run since 1994 they are 30 year old trams used on the core 3 lines Blue, yellow, purple 25 of them are in the fleet. The class 399 is a EMU/tram which is used on all lines which is fitted with train and tram safety systems. The route features street running and on its line towards Meadowhall, halfway and Rotherham Parkgate. Layer options the class 150, 158, 66 ect just for that short hop from Rotherham Central to Sheffield station.
That's an interesting new video. I think it's actually helpful for everyone considering to buy any of these routes. The problem with dovetails DLC's is that most of the routes are either interesting but too short or long and boring. Now, with the upcoming release of the semmeringbahn, I feel personally offended as an Austrian with dovetail putting the wrong sounding talent 1 in the 3rd dlc so far. They need to fix that.
I will be reviewing the Semmeringbahn DLC, and holding DTG to account for reusing the Talent 1 a second time. I suspect that either ÖBB still won't let DTG record sounds from an actual Talent 1, or DTG are just too lazy to respect the source material. Despite not being Austrian myself, I'm still a little peeved that DTG haven't bothered including an ÖBB 4744 with the route.
@TheTrainspotterFromTauranga well after salzburg rosenheim this would be the 3rd time that the would publish this. The 4744 makes all the s bahn services in my hometown. Therefore, it's my favorite EMU, especially in terms of sounds.
I think you would find Bernina line quite good, much better than arosa, and I get your dislike towards NYC Trenton, but living on the route most of it does looks pretty good, trust me IRL the route is boring, it's just the timetable.
With all due respect, I have no intention of getting the Bernina Line for the sole reason that the route coverage ends at Ospizio Bernina, instead of going all the way to St. Moritz.
@@DC4260Productions that’s totally fair, I just find it a very interesting route with its fast but twisty tracks and a spiral viaduct, and the exacution was decent. But with the recent rivet routes it does seem there taking a step up in quality. It makes me wonder if doesn’t test games has realized that if they make better routes rather than taking the tsc approach, the game will be better, that being said I’m not super supposed to new games like tsw5, becuase in my eyes it’s just a bundle of routes and maybe some nice updates for around the same price as one route.
Clinchfield is the best route layout wise. Multiple long branches, solid multi part road switching operations, only con is as you said lack of rolling stock. They could’ve stuck the oakville gp9 in there as a plain gp9 and not a 9rm and it’d fit the time era. Oakville without passenger services and without the other 60 industries you never get to serve it’s another route with too much left on the table. Cajon pass is boring and should have dozens of road switching scenarios and again so many industries you never get to serve, UP motive power present yet never get to run it, sand patch is my favorite through run route but wish it had a tad more operational depth. Horseshoe, 4 rail yards, one single switching service, a complete joke. Cheyenne-Laramie unless you’ve been there then I think it’s hard to enjoy, but I love highballing heritage units over Sherman hill. Cane creek im deadset on one day running the full 6 hour multi part scenario of the full servicing of the branch all in one sitting but it’s brutal despite beautiful scenery. Antelope valley is just frustrating with no depth to freight ops despite NPC sd40’s literally switching cars. Boston sprinter is a nightmare, without freight it’s a bottom of the barrel route. NY-Trenton as well. Harlem is too linear but would be amazing had they added the freight operations in north white plains (no freight is becoming a trend here….) Long Island line I didn’t like at first but once I ran every branch and spur and got the M3 dlc it made the route live up big time. Peninsula was my first ever TSW route and until you get the baby bullet and MP15 dlcs that route really needed those to be an excellent route with the worst scenery next to trans Pennines. Not sure if im forgetting any US routes but as for San Bernardino line im fully expecting it be a complete letdown as all US routes are.
Dtg don't have a go or via license for oakville which is why it was left out. Freight on boston wouldn't have worked anyway since they don't have any signaling equipment which requires the trains themselves to be rebuilt
My favourite of the US Routes is Peninsula Corridor. The scenery sucks of course and the traffic seems to drift at places, the timetable and the full Caltrain fleet makes up for it.
I know I maybe repeating this over and over again, I am sorry but I am not buying any other routes until they bring a WCML mainline route. Even a short route from Crewe to Wigan northwestern would be better than nothing. I am super tired of paying £30.00 for Useless Routes such as Edinburgh-Glasgow route, or Peterborough to Doncaster. I hope you are on the same page as me here, and agreeing they need to bring a decent route for once, even if it’s rivet games or Dovetail. I completely agree with what you are saying with all these routes, they are lacking effort and expecting us to pay all that money for effortless work. Do you see what I’m getting at? (Sorry for the rant, I’m just so fed up with all their dlcs and we even have to pay for the game, that’s not the start of where the money gets stolen)
2:42 lol i know you posted this 4 months ago and as you may know TSW5 is coming out soon but they are actually adding the HSP-46 and double deckers lol
Older (TSW 2 and 3) should be reduced in price. Menu layout and screens are strange, some aspects of the game are difficult to locate. Interface for Train control with a console controller is frustrating. Scenery can be fine, but still looking like a ten year old pc game. Passengers are soulless zombies. I point these things out because I enjoy the game, they're not good, but don't destroy the immersion too much. Please don't fix any of these issues by bringing out train sim 5. Just update and improve this. It's still a viable product, and unless a new game engine is required there's no need to waste time and effort that could be used to improve this version
Maybe MS needs to get involved in the TS series again it seems as developers who made the add-on got the train sounds sounds spot on. I played the East Coast Express and the sounds for class 91 and 43 are far more realistic than the DTG series also in general you had more content. DTG just isn't value for money when it comes to routes which are too short and lame also lack of trains as you said too come with them.
Also, I came across a nasty glitch on the southeastern high-speed.. I started on foot at Newington station and stood at the footbridge around 17:15pm and first 377 train arrived at at 17:18. As the train arrived there's a component of jointed section where the 2 4 car train is coupled . That piece is swinging off the train like it's falling off.. if u can try to duplicate this and you will see what I mean
could they bring NSW Australia trains and routes theres heaps of content about them i really hope they do bc all the tsw are seeming the same and i would like to see Australia in there as it is called TRAIN SIM WORLD
Route length and mediocre, uninspired concepts. As a long time Train Sim Classic player, I think this is never going to change. If anything, TSC routes were often longer.
As a SoCal resident, i can agree with the Antelope Line being boring, that’s just how it is irl. They did a fantastic job with the scenery accuracy, the route irl and in game is just boring
I rode it once a couple years ago and thought it was awesome, I fuss being from NJ I never see desert, or sand for that matter lol
The recurring gag in this video "Shame about the route length"
“Shame about the route length” 😂
Do you reckon he recorded the ‘Shame about the route length’ and re-used it on half the routes?
No, I didn't copy and paste that audio.
Wow, I am charmed! My favourites were NEC: New York to Trenton and the Maintalbahn ones! Maybe a drinking game for when you mention the route length?
It’s sad to see the predictable lack of efforts by the devs, the one problem that you point out is the general lack of route length
2:49 yeah I still remember the feeling of playing it for the first time, probably the best route of the game for me. I also liked a lot main spessart bahn cause it was nostalgic from tsw2020, and Hauptstrecke rhein rhur cause of the train variation.
Does the dopelstock still have that ideling noise from TSW2020? I miss it, and it was removed for the newer routes.

@potatoman451 sure, but purposely bringing out low quality products isn't a solution either.
@potatoman451 The talent one sounds like a class 377 though so they do have reference material.
Also, great music choice
2:23 When I said I wanted the Rhaetain Railway represented in Train Simulator, this was not what I had in mind at all!
if you could recommend any german route to buy, which would it be? its hard to find a good one because theres so many and some are pretty mediocre
Either Nahverkehr Dresden or the Niddertalbahn.
My deprived attention mind certainly prefers this format
Good video 👍 I agree with pretty much everything you’ve said

3:08 yeah.. about that.
I also noticed a shot of a 12 car Class 700 near the end of the video, does that mean you downloaded the Class 700 mod for BML?
Yes. I finally downloaded it last week.
