    Do you just toe nail to the 2x4 you attached to the girths?

    Can you tell me what the sidewall height and roof pitch is on this build? Looking to build one myself and I like the look of this one.

    Can you make a video on the order of construction? Do you spray foam before or after electrical? And plumbing and AC? Can you also discuss with the wood framing, since non of the walls are load bearing, what spans can be supported for ceilings and such?

      What about mini splits, you have to have those systems installed so that your exterior penetrations are completed but then you have a mini split in the way of the spray foam person?

      All good questions. Will try and explain as short as I can. What we do is what we have found to be best for us, other builders do it different, I am not saying our way is the only way. Saying that, we do all mechanical roughins before foam. I do not like to disturb the foam anymore than I have to, so I run all of the pentrations out of the walls and roof then foam. Prevents having to repair it and reseal after spray. We use lvl's and other types of framing for the ceilings, we use our load tables to determine how far we can span with what material. We can span as far as needed on the rooms with proper framing.

      We use mostly variable speed units (much like a mini split) to condition the house. We do not do very many mini splits in our homes, sometimes, but not most of the time.

    Why do most people do girts, sheeting, then stud it out? Wouldn't it be more cost effective to run a sprandrel or Channel at your eave and run your wood studs up to it?

    do you do your spray foaming before you do electrical and plumbing?

    • @fredluden2298
      @fredluden2298 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It has to be before. With electrical and plumbing between the studs the guy spraying wouldn’t be able to get behind it without hitting it

    Have you ever had any problems with moisture in between the studs and the insulation.

    • @DacklerConstruction
      @DacklerConstruction 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You shouldn’t have any issues with moisture up front. But with all bardo’s you have to make sure you keep up with the exterior maintenance.
      You have to check for loose screws or any signs of leaks yearly. If you keep up with that no moisture will come in from the outside.
      Your HVAC system will keep the humidity very low on the inside of the home which will prevent condensation on the inside of the walls.
      I hope that helps. 👍🏻👍🏻

    Am I missing something, shouldn't spray foam come before walls , or is this for demonstration purposes?

    • @1845Barndo
      @1845Barndo  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Great Question. We actually foam after mechanicals to provide the best seal possible after wall and roof penetrations are made. Its a little more work on the foamer, but it allows the first spray to cover everything, we prefer not to cut out foam and then refoam after penetration is made.

      @@The85F0X I found a few different ways that people were doing it.
      Hurricane ties (Simpson H 2.5) every couple of feet
      Or a method similar to this. Drill and through bolt studs horizontally then nail to that

    Wouldn't it be easier to spray foam it before framing?

    • @DacklerConstruction
      @DacklerConstruction 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      You can do it either way but it’s actually more efficient time wise to do it after so you don’t have to worry about trimming the foam back when you install the framing.
      If you do it after the framing is installs then you don’t have that extra step to scrape the foam to fit the wall framing. That’s how we do it.
      I hope that helps. 👍🏻👍🏻

    Please go into detail about the ceiling framing please. Nobody and I mean nobody seems to cover that especially the vaulted ceiling! How are your rafters attached, most videos I see show having an overhang and using a birds mouth to continue that slope but it’s not possible in these kind of framing instances
