    I don't think Andrew has taken good enough care of himself over the years. The fact he still smokes is not a good sign. If he had given up cigarettes 30 years ago, he'd be a lot healthier and have a lot more lung power.

    • @dovelugosi
      @dovelugosi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is it really this ? Or is he just tired because he's 60 or something ? When you watch Peter Murphy's live performances from 15-20 years ago it's really really not good, I saw Bauhaus live 16 years ago (i forgot to write "ago") and I almost got bored it was that lifeless and now they are back doing really cool shows. Perhaps in a few years the Sisters will be all at their best again ^^

      @@dovelugosi have you heard Iron Maiden lately? Bruce still sounds amazing mostly im sure is because he doesn't smoke or party. That shit catches up to a singer without a doubt.

    • @dovelugosi
      @dovelugosi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@markschoennagel5076 Actually I don't know Iron Maiden at all (except the name of course) so my input wouldn't be objective . But I'm thinking about Indochine, a french band openly influenced by The cure, Sisters of Mercy, Depeche Mode etc, and I remember Nicolas Sirkis (who is the leader/singer of Indochine) being asked by an interviewer about the band longevity (their carreer is almost 40 years old) and his only answer was that he quit the "edgy rockstar lifestyle" long ago because it had a bad impact on his creativity and therefore capacity of producing good music, so that says it all ^^. As a anecdotal manner, because it's one in a million, would Lemmy of Motörhead have had this impact if he didn't live "on the edge" for his all life ? (same here, I don't know Motorhead at all and I understand he died quite young after all). Sorry for such a long comment and for my terrible english :'-D

    • @markschoennagel5076
      @markschoennagel5076 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dovelugosi Your english is fine! I think it depends on the musicians. Lemmy's voice and character was rugged and tough so he could smoke and drink as much as he wanted and his voice lived up to his style. Someone with a far more refined voice needs to take care of it like an instrument. Andrew had one of those kind of voices and it sounds like its gone. Could be the recording... Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden is 65 I think and still has incredible range, sound and power all while running all over the place on stage. He stop partying long ago and it shows in his performance as well. Bruce is also the Captain of the band's 747 which he flies around the world touring. The singer is the pilot... of a 747 lol Crazy. th-cam.com/video/nwpvoUYaR9U/w-d-xo.html

      Yep, seen them in Chicago at the Hard Rock 5 or 6 years ago. The sound was so bad I couldn't recognize the songs. The vocals were so low you could barely hear it, and the normally pronounced guitar and bass was drowned out over the keyboard. Not only that, they used a fog machine that was so thick you could only see the silhouette of Andrew Eldritch( if it was even him) Totally disappointing.

      You don't really know how his physical condition is and if this can be changed with training.
      I professionally work with people who have problems with their voice or have a speech disorder. It's by far not as simple as you imagine it. Age can change a lot that's largely irreversible. Especially when combined with medical conditions.
      Training sure can help, but not always to enhance the condition. Often the enhancement is only temporary. So in many cases the training mainly has the purpose to keep the voice from worsening.

      No, that was not really what you've said before. 😉
      But legacy doesn't pay the bills. In the end being a singer also is a job. As long as he is able to be on stage and as long as people are willing to pay for it, he surely will do so.
      He probably wouldn't do those new shows if he didn't need the money. Getting old without having enough cash to pay for medication, care etc. can be pretty shitty. So I understand why he would do this and it's completely okay with me.
      In the end a handful of bad performances won't damage his legacy in the long run. Even Elvis Presley had his low points, but still will always be remembered as the King.
      Have a great weekend! 😊

    Typical guitarist. Just CAN'T let the bass player play the long intro with the drums by himself like on the album. The guitarist just can't help himself and has to get in on the act during the intro which ruins it. Play it just like the album & don't strum/pick your guitar until you are supposed to. Better yet, have the volume knob on your guitar at 0. The bass & drums at the beginning is what makes the song & when the guitar does come in - it is that much more powerful.
