Baby Chimp Rescue
Jenny and Jim Desmond are parents to an unusual and very large family - over twenty orphaned baby chimpanzees. Their home in Liberia is rapidly becoming too small for this rambunctious troop of animals, so they’re building a sanctuary in the forest. But before the babies can move out, they need to learn how to live like wild chimps. They need to attend a baby chimp school.

Chimps *do* have emotions as far as I know, probably not as many as we do, but they are capable of showing them. Just not like us. That 'smile' isn't an expression of joy, as much as you'd like to believe it is. Chimps do have their own 'smile' but this isn't it, and the people in this comment section remind me of those who claim dogs can smile, when they're really panting.
I'm not saying the chimp wasn't happy, but that 'smile' isn't necessarily an expression of how it was feeling. I wish people would give up on trying to humanize animals as much as they can, because they're way more interesting on their own.

It just shows how similar they are to humans.. We like to think they're monkeys, just animals and we're superior but really, they are superior when it comes to empathy. The only difference between them and us is that they aren't tainted with selfishness, greed, etc like us. When they're bad, it's out of instinct, when they're good they're just naturally sweet.

Talk to your Police Chiefs. There us a program in Texas called K9s4KOPS, or something like that. Their entire purpose is to get more Canine Officers into the hands of police around our Country.

A lot of volunterring opportunities, especially for animals, can be quite hectic, and here it looks more serene.

@@Degenvape it’s amazing how they’re truly our closest relatives and capable of so much love and also violence. Chimps and humans given love and nurturing as children are most likely to be loving adults. Children and baby chimps raised around violence and abuse can grow up to be really scary :(

This is like one my favorite TH-cam videos ever. Every time I see that kiss followed by that sweet unexpected smile it's just so beautiful. Dogs are literally the kindest creatures on Earth, they will literally befriend all animals if given the chance.
Whenever I see two different animals that become friends it warms my heart. I only wish that all people in this world although different religion and nationality are like this. With compassion and love to each other. And not greedy and selfish

@@kiznisha2562 actually they do think like us. At least to an extent. We're all animals, we all react the same way to certain things. You have to remember that we have evolved from apes. Just like they have to, we would have had to become territorial and agressive for survival. We all have these animal urges and instincts inside of us even in this day and age
Brandon the smudge True but chimps don’t have the higher brain function that we do. We may be extremely closely related but we are still different in the way we operate. Chimps don’t appear to have the ability to be moral like we do. We can choose to be kind even if it is totally illogical from an evolutionary perspective. We are unique in that way. Animals often appear to display human abilities and emotions but that’s just us humans projecting our own feelings and expectations onto them. If a chimp was hungry enough it would rip you apart no matter how much it loved you. Humans on the other hand have the ability to totally override our instincts for survival if we value our morals enough.

Just that we have the same primal instincts and urges deep down, and yes to an extent, they can express their feelings toward us and other animals, just like we do. Humans used to kill each other every other day for food and water. Some still do it today. Everyone can control their emotions and instincts, up to a point. We definitely have the ability to outplay any other mammal in that situation but if we are really desperate, it doesn't matter how moral we are. Everyone has their limits.
It's interesting how chimps are so cute, adorable and loving as babies and grow up so violent as adults. DNA doesn't lie.

Not to break the flow of peace and love here, but grown chimps are extremely dangerous animals, more so than other primates.They're not the biggest type of ape but they have a very big brain. Where gorillas just try to scare off and avoid confrontation, chimps will absolutely seek out conflict and react in an extremely violent manner to it. So definitely do not go seek them out in nature. Leave it to the professionals. I think these folks are doing a stellar job with all the animals!
Rynkh That’s the truth. Little baby chimps are cute but once they start going through their hormonal phases, they’re like face-ripping bombs just ready to explode. That’s just their nature. Still amazing animals though and these people are still doing a great job taking care of chimps and pupppies

Oh my God, what a unity, happiness and pleasure they have. People who are serving them are very special. The baby chimp was so cute. And the puppy with broken back reminds me my dog whom I raised in my childhood. I got tears when I saw this puppy. I used to play with monkeys and street dogs in my childhood. I also fed them whatever I used to have left overs in my home. Today I feel like I had a great childhood spending most of time with these animals. I had very few friends in my childhood but I had these lively animals to play and understand me very well. I was very happy to play with these animals because I was feeling very lonely even though I was living among the people. These animals became my play mates. I love them. Those days never come back.
