THIS. IS. INCREDIBLE !!! I can't believe it. She looks like she's coming out of a 1920's postcard ! A living watercolour.... so so pretty. Can't wait to see the film
Lisa, I was looking up a 1920's makeup tutorial for a 1920 Tea I will be attending in April of 2022 and I found yours with Elizabeth. It actually brought tears to my eyes when you were finished. What beauty you and Elizabeth have created! I'm 66 years old but I was going to use a red wig (I'm a blond) and try as close to the same color scheme as you did. I love red and peaches, apricots, and corals.I have fair skin (I have Scot/Irish heritage) and green eyes. Thank you so much for showing the world your talent!
I'm so inspired to try this myself. She looks like a sepia photograph with soft diffused colors added by an artist after the developing. These are the sort of photographs my grandmother had in her house.💕
Every time I think there's not much more left to see...you go and do something like this! I am beyond stunned by your work, your ethic, your creativity, your polish and refinement...You keep surprising me and inspiring me.Thank you, dear Lisa!
i’m just baffled how on a technical level, this isn’t a 1920s look and yet it still looks perfectly period like, i feel like i could see this in some of that “rare 1920s colored footage” and it would look entirely authentic glad you showed us this look and i’m even more happy that we will get to see more 💖
That blush is very theatrical and also Bowie-esque. I know this was intentional coming from you. ❤️ We are so blessed to have you show us your techniques. I can’t wait to see the movie!
I was so enamored by the blush that I didn't realise my mouth was gaping. FREAKING LOVE THIS. And when you said theatrical makeup I remembered how you all started loving makeup. Dreams do come true don't they!? AMAZING AS ALWAYS.
Anna McCloskey thank you... yes I agree it’s such a gloriously rich decade for all things fashion. This makeup is a bit of a ‘fantasy’ version of that era ..but still with a touch of the feeling xxx
@@LisaEldridge I wear 1920s every day and try to be as authentic as possible but, I am definitely doing this for a 1920s event I am attending. Your work is so beautiful and has inspired me to expand my horizons as far as makeup and the era go. Your tutorials are really giving me more confidence in makeup, which I have never had. xo xo
@@maudelynn1728, would you mind sharing if there are any particular stores where you buy your 1920s clothes? I found only Unique Vintage online, but it's mostly evening wear, although they do have a decent selection of shoes. I love 1920s fashion so much!
Elizabeth should def considering going red! She's gorgeus and I am so glad you decided to recreate more than one look. It's always a pleasure to see you at work.
Dear Lisa, every tutorial is like a magica travel to your enchanted inner garden. Starting from your voice and ending with a final perfect look. Thanks! It is a great pleasure every time to see you and have you on the TH-cam! ❤️
I used to live in Shanghai, and 1920's Shanghai is still a key feature in the spirit of that city, especially in art about feminine beauty. This look reminds me so much of the makeup depicted of 1920's Shanghai.
I have never thought I would be interested in theatrical makeup since normally you cannot wear it - but honestly, I just couldn't take my eyes off this video. It was like watching a birth of a masterpiece in less than 13 minutes! + I looove old films and old makeup. Fancy, this is literally 100 years old!
Love the way your hands move when you aply the shadows, it´s seems like a ballet, so delicate, like a feather blowing in a warm breeze. Beautiful look. Thanks Lisa.
Simply stunning! The model's doll-like face and alabaster skin is a perfect canvas for this look. The copper curls and that smashing blush look divine.
This reminds me of how much I love your historical videos. I would love to see more videos about your research into beauty history when you're hired to do period films, for example, and I would especially love to see historically accurate recreations using the products of the day.
The level of artistry and the skills you possess are UNREAL! With some gentle fluffs of those brushes you create this beautiful look full of so much vibrancy! It’s such a pleasure to watch you work. Please, PLEASE consider making a video showing your makeup studio to your fans.
@@LisaEldridge OMG, the authentic Lisa. I could die now. I always regard biba girls as the flapper girls of the 1960s. And you put these connections in one look, that's genius.
I am SO happy that you mentioned the importance of skin tone here. My slightly pale strong olive undertone has the hardest time with black, warm browns and warm-yellows and reds. These colors are wonderful in her skin tone, I have tried many eyeshadow colors and I have found the range of coolish taupes and greyish that work particularly for lining the eyes. This was absolute perfection, true artistry, Lisa❤️
This is honestly AMAZING. You are incredibly talented. It's so refreshing to see someone truly just teaching makeup technique on TH-cam. Thanks for sharing your skill and time with us.
I'm sitting on my toilet when it suddenly pops up that you uploaded a new video and you should see my excitement. Instantly I'm glued. Hi hi. I'll try to copy this look soon! Sooooo cool! Love from Berlin!
You absolutely NAILED IT with this makeup. The way the colours mix into each other on the cheekbones and sideburns, along with the gold in the eyes is just P-E-R-F-E-C-T.
SOMEONE PICK ME UP OFF OF THE FLOOR!!! I just cannot handle this. How beautiful Lisa. This is my style of makeup when I do my color work. People if you don't understand the depth of Lisa's talent--here it is. UGHHHH I bow to your amazing talents Lisa really and truly.
Very thoughtful and generous of you to do more than one look from this film. You do what you love and it shows! We are very fortunate to see you do your work . Thank you!
I see the watercolor technique in the blush. Just stunning. Young women are doing this technique now and adding freckles to give it an innocent doll look.
Stunning and beautiful, so natural, I really love the blush colors blending, and the golden eyebrow highlight. The 1920's were an amazing time for style, hair and makeup.
What an honor to have the actual wig as well. During Every second of this video I listened intently. I can only imagine what it like looked like. I’m so glad you’re going to doing more than one look.
*This is just so beautiful, Lisa! Your work is just so, so lovely. If you took a picture of her with black and white film it would absolutely look like a photo from the 20's.* 💋
This look is so unbelievably classic and beautiful! You are hands down my most favorite beauty guru Lisa:) Going to try this on my mom and I😊 Thank you so much for openly sharing all of you knowledge and skill with us!
Love it! I'm really enjoying this kind of editorial more artsy looks. I love the colors and techniques. I hope in the future you'll make a makeup tutorial on a monolid model. I really want to know how to do eye makeup on monolid and a face which not really have protrude cheeck bones.
unbelievably stunning, I'm in awe. this video also preceded the blush trend we are seeing with the blush going right up to the lower lid. you truly are on the cutting edge of everything.
Lisa, I honestly think this is the most incredible makeup tutorial I have ever watched in my life. I am truly BLOWN AWAY. I'm speechless. Truly stunning!!!
Blush is my all time favorite makeup item and the blush in this video is so beautiful!😍😍I just wish society was more accepting of this look as an everyday thing lol beautiful and gorgeous as always Lisa!💕
She looks like a doll. Beautiful!!!!! What you did with the blush looks amazing!
Monica Carranza
Completely agree, I thought I was going to love the look on the eyes the most, but the blush really made it come alive
Makes me want to wear my blush like that everyday! Will def be experimenting with mixing a few of my own blushes!
Nessvnessa The same thoughts. Everyday :)
E girls before they were cool
I agree about the blush. That was magical and so beautiful. Wow!

The technique you used for the blush is so incredibly inspiring!!! This is my favorite tutorial of yours in a really long time. Amazing work Lisa.
Thank you xx
Orlando Leonard plus it’s historically accurate
Almost kabuki style.
:::sitting in a pile of 50 blushes to look like a watercolor painting:::: lol!! i totally agree!!
Isn’t it just gorgeous! Blush doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I’m old school so I love draping and using blush to bronze and contour.
That's the prettiest blush application I've ever seen!!
In my humble opinion, this is one of your best works, Lisa. It’s truly Oscar worthy!
That blush is simply GLORIOUS! 😍
Those watercolour cheeks are genius! Beautiful makeup and hair. And I'm so happy you're going to do the red look too!
phenomenal 🤩
That "watercolor" blush is the most amazing thing I've ever seen and I might just wear that every day forever now. What a gorgeous look.
The blush reminds me of a vibrant summer sunset.. one that lights up the whole sky! This is a beautiful look. Thank you for sharing, Lisa!
Char Beers that’s a brilliant way to describe it 🥰
That cheek colour is a true masterpiece in itself. I’m in love 😍

You’re truly gifted! I would love to see you do a series on makeup looks from different decades or eras. I find the history of it all fascinating!
