When you are filming a church I wish you would take the time also to show the stained glass and paintings and statues I mean to focus on them for a few minutes so we can see them clearly they are very special and hold allot of religious meaning that I never see. Thank you

I find abandoned churches very sad. This particular church was built to accommodate a substantial number of worshippers, presumably because there were a substantial number to accommodate. Now the church has been closed, presumably because the number of worshippers declined to the point where it became non-viable.
These buildings are a metaphor for society in general.

What a beautiful church!,probably cost thousands of dollars to build,sadly after Vatican 2 it was a decline of worshipers so a lot or churches just closed down or destroyed to build parking lots or apartments building.
It broke my heart when i saw this beautiful church 😔😔. Lord let there be again celebration of holy masses let there be fauthful attending novenas . In Jesus Christ our lord we pray amen.
Naw! All the beautiful religious stuff, organ, pews, altar etc.....all to our sacred landfill. It's the American way of waste and ruin.
What makes you think it's abandoned just because it currently is not in use ? How did you get in ? Break in ?
I'm catholic and can you please tell me where this church is at.If this building is going to be torn down I would like to know what there going to do with the stuff so I can buy it from them.

Most probably....all the stuff will be torn down and headed for landfill. It's the American way of waste and ruin. So sad.

@@chapmand63 She may just be a fan of St. Peter.🤷🏼♀️ Although the symbol is most associated in more current times with what you mentioned, we (Catholics) did it first. St. Peter didn't feel he was worthy to die like Jesus & requested to be crucified upside down.
@@obsoleteVoids Me as future seminarian know that. St. Peter's cross because he was crucified upside down because he believed he isn't worty to die on same way as Jesus. In any way, this church is too beautiful for being abandoned! Greetings from Croatia

This church surely is beautiful and in remarkable condition. I am curious to know if there are still consecrated hosts in the tabernacle, shown at 7:15. I would have loved to see the condition of the sacristy. It would not surprise me if it still had the vestments still in there. For those who are non-catholic, a consecrated host has been transformed into the living body of Christ. At 6:53, it appears to be a reliquary, which holds usually a first, second, or third class relic of a specific saint. At 7:29, it appears to be that you are looking at the main altar. Many churches tend to have a main sanctuary space and smaller side chapels. God Bless! +

This is St Adalbert Chicago. Closed by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Magnificent Polish Church...people are still fighting to have it reopened.
Nope the consecrated hosts are not to be in an abandoned church. It goes against canon law; once a church has been abandoned, it is the Clergy’s job to consume or transfer the Blessed Sacrament.

It did not look abandoned it was clean it did not have chip paint only in a few places and no dust.
Sorry I'm no expert on things like that to me it didn't look abandoned at all maybe it was.
It must have recently been abandoned? Many cities are having to close down churches no thanks to the decline of the Catholic faith in America.
@@melissap5649 Many RRC's were built during a time of massive European immigrant influx. They lovingly built these churches and the community supported the schools, nuns and priests etc. This is a new era and all the kids have grown and fled to the 'burbs', the RRC has lost vocations of nuns and priests and the beat goes on......Now these magnificent churches stand alone as a reminder of what once was.
The house of God is always presence from prayers and meditation all walks of life: What a beautiful Church hope Government are freely institute freedom of religion.For God's Glory restored Mass.

Please do not say in any church 'oh my God'. You are disrespecting the Lord' name in vain doing this, which can be a issue for you once you pass on. Try to refrain. Thank you, however, for showing this church, its gorgeous and its sad how membership declined to a point of the church just giving up. I'm sure its still owned by the RCC. But it displays quite clearly the sad state our country and the world is in. The organ is made to last, so not surprising at all it worked.

I am Roman Catholic, please when you explore these buildings be respectful that’s the Blessed Sacrament was once in there, it’s still a sacred place.

However that being said,
Catholic Christian parishes that fearlessly live, and faithfully teach, the True Catholic Faith (as well as offer the Traditional Sacraments) are not in danger of closing at all!
Instead, they are filled to standing-room only, deeply reverent pparishoners.
Many young people, long deprived even of access to the Faith, hunger for the entire beautiful Truth. They still do reverently, enthusiastically and devotedly respond.
There really is no danger either of Christ Jesus ever abandoning His Church - or of His people failing to heroically live the true Faith.

Demons are real, I can testify to that. But Jesus Christ is Truly the Son of God and he has been raised from the dead. He is alive he has power over death and life only He can give Eternal Life. Talk to Him you will not be disappointed.
