All previously stated is so true. Keep in mind that founder Bob James is a master producer and has the talent to mesh different musicians to bring out a fresh and creative vibe to their performance. The late Grover Washington Jr thrived with him. Having Lee Rittenauer certainly doesn't hurt as well. They are just a talented group of jazz musicians.

Harvey Mason is my favorite smooth jazz drummer. He's freaking badass and i studied him and now playing on on an elite lever according to my bands recording engineer and to our lable sony records.

I think Bob James messed up a little bit on the piano but they covered it up really good if you listen I don't remember exactly at what point but I've played the song over and over and over and over in my head a million times not in my head literally listening to the song and he did he missed a beat that's how much I love this song but it's all good on my goodness what an amazing song and group

After years of testing and collecting vintage stereo equipment, I mostly always find Fourplay in the CD section of thrift stores. When I set up a system to test in the store, Chant is always my go to track, when i find it there. So many people stop by and ask who's the group whose playing this or to compliment the selection of music. Chant is one of my all time favorites.

Absolutely great sound!!! I dont know who wrote this song but they must have spent a considerable amout of time in a Baptist Chyrch. The sound of chanting is reminiscent of the chanting Deacons do at prayer time. This group of musicians are amazing.
I saw this group when we lived close to New York City oh my goodness absolutely will blow your mind between the sheets that they sang with Chaka Khan I mean you seriously have no words, Lee Ritenour, Nathan East, Harvey Mason, and Bob James and the reason that Bob James stands out so much is that he has a musical instrumental tribute to song because I am from Ireland and it's called Women of Ireland and in Gaelic it means Mna it's amazing to hear this music I mean you don't even have to sing just listening to it you will get hooked like a drug
