I was living in the residence inn for a while as a high schooler due to a house fire that put me and my family in that nice hotel. I enjoyed this rundown and your perspectives on these places. Boy, I laughed so hard when you talked about the cockroaches in Miami…that’s how you know you’ve spent time there. I’ve lived in both LA and Miami and both are long lost twins. Both cities have what the other lacks. I liked your perspective on OKC. As someone who had many up and down crazy experiences in my hometown of Memphis, you have to always respect and appreciate where you come from and a part of you will always put your hometown among the best. Living in different places certainly broadens your outlook and the experiences of connecting with new people and the memories they create are priceless. I absolutely love it here in GA but could easily still be living in any of my previous cities because of all the great times.

I am surprised to hear that Chicago has the worst traffic of all those cities from Skip's assessment. Even then, though I greatly doubt that is the case now. Skip might not be a public transportation guy. Chicago and New York have the best publix transportation in major US cities in terms of combination of accessibility and frequency. With regards to the weather, one cannot argue about Chicago's often bitterly cold winters. It is one of the coldest major cities in the US and the coldest on the list. Anyway, for me, weather isn't a leading consideration when rating a city. It is availability, accessibility, and affordability of and to public services, private services, and necessary and discretionary shopping goods. Dense cities such as San Francisco, New York, and Chicago, in comparison to the others on the list, one does not have to drive around much to get them.

Similar situation. I always viewed living in L.A. as out-of-reach, but once I got here, there's no other place like it. L.A. is unique because there's something for everyone. If you want to clout chase and brownnose celebrities, you can do that. If you just want to blend in, spend time hiking in the mountains, head to the beach, or enjoy some of the best beer and wine, that is also an option.

No way Vegas is better than Phoenix. The cities have many similarities but Phoenix is bigger, has more wealth, a higher educated population, more pro sports teams, outstanding mexican food, more parks and museums. Vegas is just an amusement park for adults with the worst architecture in America and a bland food scene.
