    Great show guys I'm heading up to Michigan and wanted to use Lead core v lead weight. And watched your video on how you showed to tie it and now I know a new trick thank you. Tight Lines and keep the shows coming.

    Great video! What type/brand of rod holders are those? I really like how long the arm is. Thanks!

      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jason, those are Scotty brand rod holders. Specifically the Scotty #429 Extended Gear Head Adapter with standard Scotty rod holder.

    Again great episode and love the format. Last year I started playing with my down riggers on the North End of LOTWs to basically do the same. Looking forward to do it this year. Never have used lead core. Is either one better other that getting the cranks in their faces?

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV
      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When we fish up on Lake of the woods we use both downriggers and leadcore. What we find is we catch more fish on the downriggers and bigger fish on the leadcore. If you can figure out why you are a much sharper angler then we are. After years of fishing them both at the same time on that body of water it almost always works out that way for us.

      @@InDepthOutdoorsTV Well then more testing is needed! Will be picking up some leadcore!

    These go angling series are awesome! I've never used leadcore so ? Is 6 or 7 feet per color. Then do I have to take into consideration the dive depth of the crank?

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV
      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Brent, glad you're loving the new series! The small cranks we typically use on leadcore just don't dive much at all on the short leaders. We might add a foot or so to the depths we're getting from the lead core and call it good. If you start running really long leaders or using large, deep diving crankbaits, you'll have to make the necessary adjustments in that situation.

    What are your thoughts of using bottom bouncers with a 5 to 7 foot leader?

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV
      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chris, you can definitely get a small crankbait deeper using a bottom bouncer. One thing I don't care for is that it is very hard to feel if the crankbait is running correctly. For that reason I'd use the bouncer in a pinch if no other option was available but it certainly would not be my first choice.

    What are your opinions on lead core vs. down riggers.

    • @TheSaltblock
      @TheSaltblock 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ive ran both. Downriggers give more options to presentation on any given day. Easy to snap in and drop down. Leadcore requires a rod devoted to leadcore. Can be a hassle.

  • @chrisgoodwin9899
    @chrisgoodwin9899 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you use a backer line on the reel before you put on your leadcore or do you do directly to the reel spoon with the leadcore

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV
      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No backer. We spoiled up 6 colors of lead core on each reel and headed for the lake.

      Not on purpose but we have accidentally caught a smallie or two when pulling leadcore.
