I would not be good walleye fisherman had it not been for Mitch and Tom. We on TH-cam appreciate all your hard work and look forward to more seminars and content
I worked at a gander mnt about 25 years ago and still remember when the aqua view came about and all the people screaming and hollering about that new fangled technology and how “people just can’t afford or catch fish the way they should!” Lolol boy have things changed!! Love using my LIVESCOPE!! Thanks Tom and Mitch for telling it how it is!!! Keep it up!!
My wife bought me an aqua view years ago I made her return it only cause it's frustrating enough not getting bit I don't Wana see them not biting too but that's just me 😅
Tom, like your take on usage of forward facing sonar. It actually teaches you so much, so that if you left it home for the day, you'd still do extremely well. The key, as you said, is catch & release.
Limits are actively changing on most lakes..and they need to for various reasons. But that probably wouldn't be as much of an issue if people just practiced catch & release. And properly release them so they can live. Fun to watch you guys!
In my opinion... It has nothing to do with forward facing. Every company will continue to create products that give anglers a greater advantage. No different than products in any other industry.
Information sharing and innovation without conservation in mind is far more destructive than ffs. Hence why I preach c and r so hard.
Moral of the story is we all have to think about conservation a lot more.
Mitch and yourself are becoming a very professional team on how you produce your content on your video- very impressed!!
Thats weird. We typically go to the naturals like minnows and leaches in summer when they set up on typical summer patterns. I like spot tails myself all our U.P. lakes have them or dace minnows mudlers sculpins darter varieties. But we do pull lots of crawler harnesses in Little bay de Noc. Are river mouths are loaded with gobys so crawlers get pecked to bits. Thanks for all the tips Tom. And the great content. BEST WALLEYE GUY ON UTUBE
Haha! Funniest video yet! I love sarcasm and Tom has it down to a science. He’s almost as good at fishing.
I don't mind the tech, I like to watch what you're doing to see what I want to try. Mostly looking for lures and techniques though.
Great answer, you could row out into the lake and cast a jig to determine the lake depths and not use sonar but why would you do that. I’ve learned so much about fish after I bought an underwater camera and again learned so much with the Livescope .
Great job guys! The videos just keep getting better! Looking forward to seeing the next one!
Appreciate it
The second question was mine and it got answered by my favorite TH-cam fishing channel!!! 😮 Thanks Tom and Mitch and I was snapping it to hard like a jig .. toss cast the search bait works great !
The both of you make a great team. Keep them coming. You two are Walleye Slayers for sure. Keep the slick side down brother's.
Tom has released more fish than most of you people have caught and eaten! He is a great representative of walleye fishing forward facing sonar or not!
If you don’t like it, just don’t watch. He puts a good video together. Keep up the good work.
Great fair answer about forward facing sonar. Catch and release. Love your videos. So informative.
Another awesome video bro 😎
TOM THANK YOU FOR BEING DEAD HONEST, MUCH APPRECIATED
Keep making great videos Tom. Say it like it is, if they don’t like it they don’t have to watch it.
How do u think the precision shooter rod would work for pitching jigs/ plastics in the winter? I need to build or buy something w oversized guides to prevent or slow down icing up. Usually use 1/8 or 1/4 jig
Thanks
“ let’s go” never caught on in the south, but let’s face it, “ let’s go y’all “ doesn’t have the same ring to it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You guys really need to fish for Walleye more often
Keep up the good work guys
Let’s go
Really enjoy watching you and Mitch haul in those "monster eyes" up there in Yankee Land. Problem we have down here in NW Arkansas is there is no way we can get live leeches. So I have had to resort to artificials. Don't know how much difference that makes or if you could do a video showcasing them. Only change I make is to use a "slow death" hook on the back of my search bait to give the artificial a little more action in the water.
I think you can order from bait companies on the Internet. We order Mousie grubs for ice fishing.
Glad to see the comments on FFS and the positives of technology but also balancing with catch and release of the resources. Also would like to see comments about using this in deep water in water 35 ft deep or more to target big fish, seems like more and more people are doing this and abusing the resources as walleyes caught deeper than 35 are going to die with barotrauma if caught and released. What's your opinion on this?
We use a lot of raw shrimp (catfishing) where I live.. old worms/ leeches are NOTHING compared to them, when you forget them 😂
That liquefied leech juice hits different
Hey Tom…quick question. With slip bobbers, you’ve commented on keeping the bait high. How high would you say is optimal and what is too high?
Very true! You always hear “live imaging is gonna ruin the fisheries”. When it’s gonna be the people who ruin it by either not releasing the fish or keeping more than what they need.
Keep em comin' Tom!! Loving the content buddy! Question for ya.... I live in south central Wi about an hour north of Madison. The woman and I enjoy making a couple trips up that way a couple times a year. What lakes would you suggest up there to target some decent 'eyes? Not looking for secret spots obviously, just a general area to get on some fish. We've spent a lot of time on Lk. Owen but it seems like we always get a MESS of smallies and few, or no walleyes. Also.. If you're ever down this way, you gotta try Big Green Lake. Awesome fishery! Keep crankin em man!!
You know guys just keep doing what you do I really enjoy your show been watching it for a long time now and your my top show! 😉 I was wondering are you doing any seminars this summer?
I think the saying is; fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Thanks for the great videos!
Nice
Where did you get the tri-prong twisty thingy for the main nut on your TKI CNC mount? That's my only complaint with mine is that main mounting nut can some time be uncooperative.
I found it on their website.
Tom, what do you use for a bobber stop on 10lb braided line?
Most lakes in fish dont have any maps except the state maps they havent been surveyed for detail so its alot of running to find spots and hummingbird with no line chip if i could color depth wow would that save time at least the lakes are smaller any tips
Question on Slip Bobber Depth.
Tom, If you are fishing a 15' weed edge, What depth do you tend to set your slip bobber at? (ie, 10 or 13?)
10 - 12 feet down I would say
Great video Tom, I see you have a stabilizer on your trolling motor when you move locations or in transit, some say you don't need it, what are your thoughts?
Atta boii ubetchya!
What kind of knot did you tie that homemade jig on with
Just ordered my TKI.
“Any tech breakdown on why you missed that fish?” 😂
Strange alignment of the sun and moon tilted the earths axis by .01 degrees. I shoulda compensated for that... I'll do better
@@TomBoleyleap year..
Solar flares...
Good plug on catch and release while using a ffs. Hopefully more people catch on and realize you can release fish and still feel ok about yourself.
Absolutely . I feel like there is a big catch and release initiative I can do.
Any comments in your next video of different kinds of forward facing sonar….Garmin….hummingbird looking to buy one and not sure what to buy
Couldn't agree more. If you're using forward facing sonar you should be catch and release as much as possible. Sore subject for me when guides are using it day in and day out for their client limits.
So if you get lucky you can eat? I don’t know man I feel like if you can afford it then so be it
Kinda like duck hunting guides in Missouri and Southern IL. They use irrigation pumps to pump up 60deg ground water to keep their purposefully flooded corn fields open after the freeze up. 6 guys in the morning 6 guys in the evening, 6 birds each.
What brand fishing line and lbs test you mainly use? Thanks
Suffix 832 10lb braid
I wish MN allowed two lines on inland waters..
Can you talk more about your hunting trip to ND
Surprised you drew a tag this year deer numbers down non resident tags cut back too
Have an opinion on the Hummingbird Fish ID + and when to use and not to use?
I stopped using it because it’s not very accurate from My experience
Correct...
Where do find those fish hooking guys? Not for me but for the other guy in my boat….
🎣
How do you cast the search bait without the hook getting tangled around the head/spinner?
He said (in another video/ comments) to just lob it out, no snap casting ;)
Done with all Livescope
What lake are you on?
The saying goes..fool me once. Shame on you. Fool me twice. Shame on me. Your videos are great.
7:53 : You gotta give ‘em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thang, ya git me?
Ok so next video, bare feet, cane poles fishing for walleye. Make sure you start the video with LETS GO!
👍
The last time I missed a fish was also in 96.
I feel your pain
Let’s Go! 😂
Can you please show us the intricate details of how you do that crazy dangerous, one slip up and your phone goes swimming, phone filparoo that you do!
we use minnows in here lake in canada inshore fishing cause we don',t have boat.
If i pinch off any part of my crawler i dont get bit figuered that out years ago when slow death came on the seen idk why maby cause i smoke 🤷♂️
Famous Tom line, “I was at a seminar”
He's too humble to say "I was giving a seminar"... lol 😊
Let’s go!!! Lol😂
If you had a giant bowl stocked lake has walleyes and panfish but the panfish are so thick you cannot tell a walleye from a perch. How the hell would you fish it? Super weedy like 6 ft tall weeds 200 yards out. Middle is about 20 feet. No real structure or holes/drops. Pulling cranks nets the occasional walleye but live bait is nearly impossible the perch will come to the surface to eat its insane.
"Fool me once shame on you.. fool me twice can't get fooled again"
How much money do you spend at the Bar and you say electronics are expensive😅
This is my only compliant about the search bait. They want 12$ for the lurer and now have to buy a totally different hook for it to not tangle. The concept of the search bait is awesome but the designed is not the best.
Don’t feel shamed about “let’s go!” Someone unsubscribe from this gold content over a phrase said in excitement? They’re not worth having them follow you. Go tone and phrase police someone else!
Dead mice in your boat..phew!
All that guy was trying to say is that you’re not relatable…and a lot of other TH-cam Fishman are t relatable. 90% of TH-cam fisherman are using forward facing sonar and 90% of their audience don’t have it.
Check out "Richard Gene the Fishing Machine" he definitely doesn't rely on his electronics, instead he uses his experience and feel 😮 funny as hell too..
Crayfish
"Everyone has side imagining" buddy im fishing from shore.... show me how to catch fish please.
Just because he uses forward facing sonar doesnt mean hes catching fish every cast. And most anglers should catch and release not catch and eat
Leeches are the worst when they are forgotten in the summer!! White slimy grossness!!
Tom fishing the Electrical way the other 80% fishig the old just go and find them way.
The answer questions segment was so full of negativity and sarcasm it was really not great to watch. As a big fan and avid watcher of your videos, I have to say I do not want to see more of that.
"Lets Go" is so worn out. Please stop.
I think I know why I don’t catch fish like Tom, I always wash my hands off after digging a crawler out.🪱
Nice
