Funny story. When me and my friend became pirate legends and came down to athenas fortune we saw someone getting the curse so we stood in the crowd cheering and clapping then when the song was done his friend who had already got the curse killed us.

Might be a late reaction but I want to thank you. Im currently lvl 47 in the Gaurdians because I miss the time and motivation to do this. Your video really helped me regain that confidence to just head into it. Thanks! I hope I'll get the curse sooner or later!

I’ve been playing this game since the anniversary update and I can confirm I have not gotten better at any aspect of the game which makes me very happy. And I can also say that about 40% of my hours were spent in black screens

I’ve been playing nearly a month and I’ve almost hit the 100 for Reapers (I’m at 86), and I don’t have PL yet 😅
Im on a level 100 route, level 31 for now, and to win every match i've learnt there are essentially to golden rules to follow:
1) Make sure the enemy doesn't get the chance to use the cannon. Aim for it, and soon or late they'll get pissed. Use it as your advantage.
2) The sooner you camp the enemyes on their boat, the better.
Fun fact: you can sell fish to Merrick in the true legend hideout

67 serve and 20 guard. Ive pretty much given up. Especially after getting lazybearded 3 times now waiting in queue. I find the mode way more frustrating than fun
you can try defending if you don't enjoy queueing. I've had a lot of fun defending recently, as you just get to play the game as normal until someone invades you.

Always run an emissary for hourglass! Boosts rep/profits if you win and doesn't cost a thing to run

Just lose 1600-2000 battles, and it's yours. Nothing difficult...just grinding at its worst. Just have to not have a life or job, and you too can waste 400 hours grinding for a worthless cosmetic.

This actually makes me want to play the PvP, but only for Athena's .
The only problem is my anxiety gives my whole body pins and needles. its not a pleasant feeling
it gets easier the more exposure you have to PvP :)

I have been trying to get this for months but every single time I sink because of hackers(I’m not being ignorant)
I feel like if I get it, it won’t be worth it with the grind (and my horrendous PVP skills). I mean I want both curses, but it’s hard.
I can say with certainty that the curses are worth it 🤩
@@ToxieSinclaire I wish I had your enthusiasm, 🫠. I went up against the same guy almost 10 times and after the 1st battle, i just let him win because he’s really good. I could barely do anything to defend or attack because again I’m horrendous at PVP. 😂 So I took the L without complaints.
Honestly after the pain that was OG Shores of Gold commendations, that feels like child’s play now. Every other non-PvP grind feels like such a holiday now, here’s hoping I don’t get too fussed on beating the Fated Fortune commendations

Only 0.01% of players might have the Pirate Legend Curse but that number is certainly growing at an alarming rate.
Yeah I watched the 4 streak achievement go from .01% to the .12% that it is now

The easiest way to win and it’s actually guaranteed but wasting Garfield’s regurgitated lasaugna then wait for it to be morning time then cannon over/ fly to the other ship like Terrence and protect the holes you caused when you hit their ship as Terrence by morning all over the other crew

Broooo this game, they know how to pull my heart strings, I've gotten little happy tears twice in this games major parts, once when pendragon absolutely tore jack a new one in chapter 3 of "Jacks Life" and now watching the blessing teared me up too, Rare is soo good at what they do, if only they could find a way to snuffle out the hackers the player base would bloom again, I know it
Removing the Arena was a bad thing, lots of new players that such at ship combat have no place to practise. Then when your ship full of loot gets blown up after hours of adventuring, it makes the game unenjoyable.

They should make a half curse lake a ghost or skeleton arm at 20, half body at 50 and full curse at 100
I think this is a great idea that would help motivate more casual players into participating!
It wouldn’t really make sense with how the ceremony and ritual work. I get your pint but at the same time when you finally do hot 100 it makes the reward so much better because you got practically nothing for all your hard work until finally getting you get an ultimate reward
Max Hunters Call is 50 times harder then getting either curse
Hunter's Call isn't hard it's long and boring get it right
Legendary Hunter of the Sea of Thieves is the real goal
@@seanbedel7694 long and boring is what makes it hard. No one wants to fish for hours on end. Pvp on the other hand is actually fun, and sinking 150 boats is easy if you know how to play the game.

How many wins did it take you in the end? i am roughly following the 2 win and dip strategy so i am curious :)
150-200 sinks for average players like us I think, Im level 52 right now and 70 sinks, but it gets slower and slower when you level up
I have won 70 and lost around 70 too, 1-2 streaks only (mostly 1)

The sail out of bounds awards experience now, if you’ve actually fought each other at least once, I still don’t do it because I’m bad (take with a grain of salt just going off of what has happened to me)
I'm a little late but I got the blessing a while ago and honestly think it's not the best, makes you very easy to snipe, but oh well the ceremony makes it worth it, on my skelly curse grind, level 65 rn.
Man that grind is really great and really hard at the same time I must say I see how improved you can go and I find myself in your experience thank you so much for sharing it !
The premade alliances, the swabbies (I'm one myself), etc. That's such a great way of getting introduced to PVP.
I didn't know driving the enemy out of bound wasn't granting them their loser victory point I'm glad I got to pvp that player the other day, now I'm determined to get throught it (only lvl 25), watching you talking about your own journey is so motivating, I had a hard time getting to sleep yesterday night cause I was mentally going through my own battles and what I could have done, after watching the 3/4 of your video.
Going through your previous battles to assess what you could do better is one of the best ways to improve. I'd recommend recording your fights for a more detailed method to learn from your mistakes. You'll definitely learn faster this way.

I never attempted doing the hourglass for the pvp matches to get to that point since I’m a solo player that’ll end up getting defeated
did you know that solo players who vote on the hourglass will only be matched with other solo players?
@@ToxieSinclaire those solo players might actually be more skilled and got more stuff to keep their ship afloat and more cannonballs to use for their cannons while they have plenty of food to keep their hp up too !?!

I've hardly touched the Servants side as I'm an Athena at heart. But I will be working on it, just a lot slower than I did for the Blessing 😅
The bare minimum if you never sink is like 85-90
Doing a solo sloop is a bit of a risk considering how it's practically RNg, you can have a fight and a toxic brig or galleon can intervene making a unfair fight or even show up in a Alliance Server against a small fleet, another RNG factor is the fact you can practically encounter a hacker who just teleports on making a unfair fight.

i don't really like the fact that we got so many double XP days in such short of time (community day, the 3 days of boost and soon the other community day ) for someone who grind both curses without even playing on these day, it's alright to make the grind much more enjoyable for "the average player" sometimes but not that frequently, it's supposed to be hard to get,no in 3 days of no sleep!

Fun fact: it would take 10 hrs and 16 mins to get the athena curse. Of nonstop grinding in pvp if you get a match made every 5 mins and win every single time.

Friendly tip is to find a crew/duo to play with. We are both at 500 in both factions now and have improved and learnt more in a short amount of time :)

Every time I use the hourglass I LOSE the battle and I'm not even CLOSE to LEVEL 20
It's definitely a harder, longer grind then Gold Curse (which was seen as the curse of sweatlords). Also not a god. I've always been decent at the game, but this has definitely helped improved me, to the point where it's just sweatlords after sweatlords, and sometimes a Synicall appearance. And after a tough grind, I eventually got there.
Also yes, pre-made alliances suck, but don't mistake opportunists for them either! I've had people roll in on me, and I've rolled in on others fighting. Just an easy streak! Sucks being hammered by two ships, but at least the opportunist wasn't there because they made an alliance with the other ship. Got to respect the grind.
I wish I had made it clearer in the video that I don't actually hate alliances in Hourglass. I think they're a fun addition that keeps the mode feeling like Sea of Thieves

Mate how the hell do you find good players in open crew? All the players I come across are fresh from completing the maiden voyage and just keep interfering with things
I'd recommend joining the official SoT Discord server to meet some people that are a little more invested in the game. Open crew is such an RNG fest as to whether you'll find a player worth sailing with. However if you insist on open crew, stick to the sloop.

Because when I do open crew I’m always the only one doing everything while the newbies mess everything up. It's the hardest grind because pvp can be so soul crushing
I can't seem to be able to get any matches where I live, which is a shame seeing as hundreds of battles are needed to get this curse...
