disney has no room to talk about "abuse" when chili rolls up the paper to bop Bandit. talking about killing mufasa, rapunzel being held captive in a tower
Cuz no parents ever do that in the US. Edit: I don't have Disney + anymore and got the kids and adults confused. But when you showed the clip it seemed playful not serious.
Dad Baby is such a fantastic portrayal of what pregnancy is like, not only that but the idea that husbands think we’re “putting it on” when we aren’t! As a mum this episode SPOKE to me so much
I saw a man on tv once who wore an empathy suit for the whole 9 months of his wife's pregnancy. The only time he took it off was to shower so it didn't get ruined. I also saw a guy on TV who shocked himself everytime his wife had a contraction.
I really don't understand the culture behind needing to shield children everything because it might "traumatize them". I understand wanting to have the talk about sex when their older. But telling younger kids that babies come from a mommy's belly and not from the cabbage patch doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I knew exactly how babies where born before the age of 3 and I'm the youngest child in my house hold. My mom used to watch a show called "A Baby Story" back in the 90's and that showed women giving birth and I turned out perfectly normal.
I saw my first live birth when I was 10. It was a cat but still. My 4 year old was 3 when Daniel Tiger's mom had a baby and now she has most of the basics. We haven't talked about how the daddy gives the sperm to the mommy yet but the rest of it she knows. She even uses the words uterus and vulva. She also knows men have a penis but it's still a bit of a foreign concept to her as she hasn't seen one except on livestock. She tried to milk my mom's billy goat once so we had a little discussion.
Right? They think it’s shows ideas of a trans man giving birth when it’s just a husband of a mom empathizing and understanding what the mom had to go through
I just want to point out that the way Bandit looks at Bingo after she's "born". that look right there. the whole scene of them staring at each other. Adorable 🥺
It sucks that disney banned this episode cause its one of my favourites in the entire show. Not only is the episode just absolutely hilarious from start to finish, but I like how it normalise childbirth and doesn't fall into a lot of the cliches of scenes like this. I do understand that some parents wanna wait till their kids are older to talk about where babies come from and that's completely understandable, but I never really got the whole "Oh babies come from the cabbage patch or a stork brings them" my mum told me that babies come from a mums stomach and I was completely fine
tbf, my family made a weirder version of childbirth by saying that babies grew in the stomach and either "out the bum" or through C-section (aka how i was born), all I did at most is question how the baby didn't die from stomach acids but I was otherwise fine. I've always found it a bit weird that some people say that "babies come from a stork" or smth because what if a kid sees a pregnant mom? or sees a mom about to give birth in a hospital? what are the parents gonna say?
I think it's healthier to just tell kids that babies grow inside the belly of women. Like don't put on a graphic video. But children are bound to be around pregnant women, as tons of families, cousins, etc. will have a parent that is expecting. So not being turthful just takes away also from children understanding that a pregnant lady might need to sit on their spot at the bus cause she is using her energy to grow a new human
Exactly! Linger and postpone for too long and that's when problems arise! People only tell their kids lies because they were told lies, and they think that's what to do. And because they were told lies or not told what is true about the situation for so long, they think it's so weird and gross, but it's literally natural, and literally just how it is! I guess that doesn't mean it doesn't seem gross to us spoiled humans at times, but it really is just how babies are born, every time. Parents are too embarrassed to talk about that stuff a lot. Bluey handles it right, or at least better.
American mom here and our family has seen this episode. When my 2 year old (non verbal but understands EVERYTHING) was watching, he started signing wanting to know what was going on. We told him exactly what it was and he got so excited about it and was clapping so much when Bingo was born. I think it's so crazy that Disney is censoring so much of this amazing show. Times are racing forward and things are rapidly changing. Disney needs to realize that they can't keep "shielding" children from these things for very long.
I'd love to see a petition demanding that this episode be released. If it worked for "Family Meeting" then why not this episode. And if the holy roller snowflakes make a fuss, then TOUGH! Besides, they have that dumb chinchilla cartoon. Those idiots are holding this nation back, are fine with going against the Constitution and don't like that the USA is a Secular Democratic Constitutional Republic. If one wishes to be an "Ultra-Conservative Christian", want to be a prude, pray to an angry version of God and practice traditional gender roles, fine... all the MAJORITY of Americans ask is that it's not imposed on us. Don't like a show, don't watch it. Don't believe in Same Sex marriage, don't have one! Want to pray in Public School, one can still do so, quietly or with like-minded friends. Disney has been feuding with Ron DeSantis. What would be a better way to stick it to him than releasing this episode. If Disney is skiddish, put a disclaimer before it. Sheesh!
I do find it very hypocritical that Disney decided to sensor a lot of gross out humour in Bluey such as Bandit farting and Buttermilk the horse taking a poo considering a lot of other cartoons made in America do use a lot of shock and gross out humour all the time it's like they feel like they are the only ones allowed to do it
The Simpsons is an American cartoon show that is way more inappropriate to show in Disney plus. Yet, they have to ban one episode because of farting 🙄, another because it shows chilli hitting bandit with a news paper because he’s imitating a woman being pregnant. Im getting sick of this hypocrites way the American media and shows and even networks run. I’ve seen a little bit of Dad Baby and I loved it
It honestly makes me sad that they censored out this episode. Bluey is hands down the best kids show I've ever seen, and an absolute favorite among all our kids. I am definitely going to look into buying the whole series, including the banned content. ❤️
and for those confused, Disney does not own Bluey Disney only has the streaming rights (and linear rights in some countries) The show is owned by BBC Studios (a division of BBC Worldwide) outside of Australia [Studio Ludo and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has the rights to it in Australia]
I agree with every reason except for the Domestic Violence Reason, Literally Chilli seemed to be play fighting, my dad does it to his brother so idk why that would be a problem😕. Btw I love the pink hair, it's very stylish😊
Yeah i don't think that's the reason. Disney is notoriously puritanical, but even they wouldn't have a problem with that scene. It's fairly obviously it's playful - Bandit was intentionally being cheeky, Chili obviously wasn't actually hurting him or trying to hurt him, they were both smiling and laughing. Disney will put up with a lot of things, but anything related to sex or sexuality has always been a big no-no for them
@@ToastyNoneofyourbusiness I think Disney is so obsessed with making money that they feel that they NEED to please everyone. Since their stuff goes throughout the world, including very homophobic countries, they have to play kid gloves with everything. This is why they can only IMPLY LGBTQA characters and not have them obvious about it (Be it Artie from 'CRUELLA' or LeFou from the live action version of 'BEAUTY & THE BEAST'). It's got to be either a secondary or minor character that COULD be interpreted as gay without saying it or a very brief character or scene that could be cut for international markets. This is why "STAR WARS" fans never got to see Finn & Poe as a couple (despite John Boyega, Oscar Issac and MANY fans pushing for it). Disney's gotta get those Rubles and Yuan, after all. Banning this episode is an example of this, gotta get those Right-Wing parent's "dollar-bucks" and they hate sex-ed and anything "gender-bending". Disney can only go as far as having "Gay Day" promotions at Disney World and get mad at Ron DeSantis for his "Don't Say Gay" law. Otherwise, they have to walk on eggshells.
I laughed my head off at the birthing scene and I love how Lucky's Dad keeps getting roped into the Heelers games, complete with the drink in hand. Oh and the cricket score update was an extra bit of fun because being a summer baby in Australia myself it mirrored what happened in my own birth with the Doctor who delivered me asking the nurses for the score.
**American here** Let my 3yr old see this episode a while ago & she did in-fact recreate this scene tonight with her sister🤣🤣 Funniest night of my life
Children are indeed like that! I remember playing midwife with my little brother and cousins! We were way too young to understand the nuances or why the adults were concerned. But hey! Tiny little kids love playing pretend and imitating adults. And that is life!!!
@@fennecfoxfanatic yeah, I wish they could play pretend in a Safer way though, like pretending to drive or shop or something, not something as graphic as this
It's not only early baby, but also the episode about Bluey and Bingo doing the "play" about Bingo having "a baby in her belly", when doing the play about Bandit and Chili
In "The Show" I think the part where the balloon pops either signified a miscarriage, or that Bluey came early. But considering how "Chili" (portrayed by Bingo) had to have a cry & pull herself together... I'm leaning toward the former.
8:06 speaking of Lilo and Stitch you know Disney had to reanimate one scene when the film was released on Disney+ and that was the scene where Lilo crawls out of a tumble dryer
Honestly before you got to the third reason I was already saying to myself that it was bc a man was "giving birth". They literally had bingo "pregnant" with bluey during the play they put on for their parents and the balloon popped imitating a miscarriage and that wasn't sensored.
He wasn’t even giving birth. Bandit was just in the kiddie pool with Pat trying to pull Bingo out of the baby carrier because she had a grip on Bandit’s chest fur. It’s not even an accurate depiction of birth. Just a simulation at the very most and they have shown worse things than that.
Fun fact when I was really young my grandpa had.. a really round shaped stomach and that was right around when I figured out where babies come from but I didn’t know about the whole gender thing. So I asked him one day “do you have a baby in your belly?” And then there was an awkward silence. Lol I was so young!
It might be linked to the second theory. Instead of not showing the idea of pregnancy, Disney doesn't want to scare the kids with all the screaming and yelling. They might not want to traumatize the children, so they are not afraid of the idea of when they are seeing a new relative or in the future when they have one themselves.

When Bluey season 3 came out world wide version of it If Disney banned another episode like sheep dog again I swear I’ll call Disney to let bluey moved to Paramount to aired on Nick jr so that they can give her a new home for bluey
No it doesn’t need to be moved to Paramount. It needs to be moved to PBS Kids. It’s already distributed by Universal and PBS has a lot of Universal and BBC programming already. They already have gross humor with Word Girl and Arthur had that gay teacher wedding. It would be right at home.
@@cristian_253 Well it doesn’t need to be on Paramount. Nickelodeon and it’s other channels aren’t good anymore. Besides Nickelodeon has Peppa Pig, Hey Duggee, Paw Patrol, Baby Shark, and other garbage shows. They rarely handle anything they get rights to properly and many Nickelodeon shows now air on Disney. Nickelodeon and even Nick Jr. haven’t been good in years and Paramount just isn’t equipped for something like Bluey. They got lucky with Paw Patrol and Baby Shark and now that’s all Nick Jr. is. Paramount also mishandled the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie design and if they had ignored the fans pleas for redesign it would have been worse. Yes it needs to be on either PBS Kids or Universal Kids. Actually Universal Kids might be a better pick but PBS kids has more range and is free with antennas.
@@cristian_253 Oh and a quick list of shows that Nickelodeon and Paramount mishandled. Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat-noir (Disney picked it up) Legend of Korra Yu-Gi-Oh! (Disney picked up) Digimon Fusion New Speed Racer Voltron Force Rugrats Dragon Ball Alvin and the Chipmunks reboot Kappa Mikey
Disney really needs to stop being so damn uptight! I mean, we actually live in a world and a time where kids can actually learn a lot more when shows are much more controversial!
If Bluey had a same sex couple in an episode do you think Disney would censor it as well? (Also apparently there are fan theories that Bluey is Non-Binary)
Okay first I wanna know which one is a same sex couple? And second bluey is six😂 let her be a kid just cause people confused a child as a boy for awhile doesn't mean she's nonbinary she shouldn't have to worry about that stuff yet and frankly shouldnt care is sure didn't care as a child
@@Firebird-6200 okay, young children can question their gender, and sometimes kids talk to their parents and work out their gender, for example, my cousin was transgender at 4, and changed their name at 8
@@Firebird-6200 for the first few years of ur life doctors can tell if u do have a girl brain or a boy brain So if u have a daughter and they do whatever test on the brain they can tell if the child is a boy or a girl
The part of the episode where I think it's understandable for them to censor the episode is the whole birthing process in general. Like yeah in Early baby the kids are pretending to be pregnant and "giving birth" but what they're doing is the pulling a doll out of a sash while in Dad baby it basically is what happens when a woman, or trans man, decide to give birth. Usually when that happens on shows it is behind closed curtains (Doesn't stop the audience from hearing the screams though)
It’s not even graphic though. It’s just Bandit in the kiddie pool and Pat pulling Bingo out as she has a death grip on his chest fur. Real child birth is bloody and also ends up with people covered in poo because of having to push.
@@thereal_sunset When pushing hard, poo is definitely going to come out as you push. Because you're pushing something out, something else you might not want to push out may be excreted as well. And it's completely normal for it to happen.
Disney is known for censoring LGBT+ in multiple places, so its VERY likely to be the case. i'd say it doesnt help the LGBT+ community either, as its only proving conservatives being extremely paranoid as they always love to be. the episode could also be seen as understanding what its like to give birth, and grow more respect towards women. as for old shows compared to now: a lot of 'rules' changed over time, which is sad in my opinion
Actually, there are trans characters in Disney cartoons. Raine Whispers from the owl house is nonbinary, for example. Also as a transmasc person who saw this episode, it didn’t remotely offend me. It was pretty funny.
Thanks for the comment I just looked it up! Raine is indeed the first ever trans character and currently the only one unfortunately on Disney according to wiki “Raine is both Disney TVA's and Disney's first transgender and/or non-binary character”
What about Pleakly? “She” would technically be the first ever trans Disney character. Turned 20 this year too. Pleakly and Jamba literally fought over the lady wig. And Nani accused Pleakly of trying on her clothes when she isn’t home. Pleakly just couldn’t be labeled as trans because that was 20 years ago back in 2002 when Lilo and Stitch came out.
@@aussiegirlmargieA little update to add, in their recent film “Elemental” the character of Lake, who was Wade’s sibling was also confirmed to be non binary. Though the film plays it as very subtle and you’d never guess. Lake’s gender is never even brought up in the film.
@@Ravethecat12 Raine is Non-Binary, yes, but Non-Binary is under the trans umbrella. If you are Non-Binary, you are trans, thank for caming to my Ted talk.
@@Ruby2P (I want to preface this by saying I am in no way attempting to be hostile, deepest apologies if I come across as rude or angry! I agree with a lot of what you’ve said, I just wanted to add my own thoughts in as well ^^) it does fall under the trans umbrella, but it’s up to the person themselves to decide if they want to label themselves as such!! I have several friends who identify as non binary but not as transgender, so while I 100% understand listing non-binary people when talking about trans characters, I think it’s fair to recognize that not all enby people want to be referred to as a transgender person,,
@@kamemelodic1331 Trust me, most comments don't bother me, it was simply a question that needed answering. My humor may come off as me being ticled, but I'm just weird.
I think I know the reason and i think all you're reasons are correct Disney only really care about money and they knew people would complain about the reasons you mentioned and Disney doesn't like to take risks so the easy thing to do was banned it my opinion dad baby is probably one of the funniest episodes to date
@@princesspikachu3915 the sleep over is hilarious i don't think its as funny as dad baby but it's still funny and definitely one of the most quotable episodes My name is Bububab
Honestly Margie, I Think It's A Different Reason. I Mean Yes Disney Was A Little Meh With Representation But If You Look At Shows Like The Owl House It Shows That Disney Is Getting Better
Reason 3 and 4 is most likely the reasons and its just Disney playing it safe. What I think its more on how Bingo played as the "baby". There was a scene where Bingo dropped her head to the floor while still in the baby carrier and plopped back in the baby carrier after she said her bit. I got the joke, but I get the feeling my younger cousins will ask me if thats what babies do while in the mother's belly.
@@kareesingh4428 from what i’ve heard Dana had to fight rlly hard for it tho, and tbh im still not sold on the idea that the queer themes didn’t play a role in its cancellation
@@saturnisgay69 But Bandit isn’t even trans. He is a bio male character who gets put into uncomfortable gender bending situations. Sometimes he rolls with it like Horsey Ride and marrying his brother Stripe who is playing the girl horse and Stripe looks uncomfortable the entire time. If anything it makes fun of LGBTQA and everyone is just mistaking jokes for inclusion because of being so desperate. It will NEVER be excepted beyond a joke. Straight people laugh at the “funny (not) gay” and LGBTQA thinks they are actually being included. They aren’t even actually LGBTQA and it shows by how uncomfortable the characters are in those situations. And it’s the uncomfortable parts that make straight people laugh. It validates straight-ness whilst making the gay stuff seem silly. It’s why Disney and other companies only have gay villains or side characters. Because gay = evil to many and having a gay villain reinforces that they are “bad gay”. Same with comic relief except now it’s gay = stupid/silly/idiot/clown. It reinforces negativity about the community.
In the Disney movie called “strange world” on Disney+ one of the characters, searcher’s son is possibly “gay” because in a scene towards the beginning his friends drive by his house and stop. Then they start talking about what I think is a game and then someone pops out of the back on the truck and searcher’s son seems to feel a bit awkward and starts stuttering which commonly happens when someone has a crush. Idk 🤷♀️ but maybe
My 8 year olds immediate answer to Margie asking why disney banned this episode was "because Bandit has Bingo shoved down his privates" which hadn't even entered my head as the 2 of us laughed watching Margies clips but to me it maybe makes more sense than birth or trans issues
I absolutely love your channel, I have been watching them almost every night now since they bring me a strange sense of childhood comfort. U are doing an amazing job and thanks for the videos 💜
🥰 🥰 thank you SO MUCH for you comment, it really means so much to me that not only have you been enjoying my videos but you wanted to comment to ❤️ I’ve had such a blast making all these videos and I definitely plan to try keep it consistent with uploads!
I think that a lot of it has to do with the targeted age group for the show, which is young children. As opposed to the other examples where the targeted range was preteen to teenagers. By the same perspective, you would not see a childbirth scene in an episode of Sesame Street or Dora the Explorer, regardless if it involved a woman or a transgendered man. It is easy to vilify Disney by accusing them of being transphobic, but really they are trying to keep their airing of the show innocent and not involve childbirth, sex, or gender politics. Also avoiding angry letters from angry parents, that's a big point right there. Conciser that they also cut the joke in one episode where Bingo asked Bandit how the baby gets into the women's belly.
in dora the explora and other 'kids' shows, you saw pregnacy/birth to a piont. dora has baby twin siblings and in an episode you see the mom in labor/ going into the hospital.
On Sesame Street there were two dads on the episode where Granny Bird visits Big Bird. There was also an episode where Lil’ Nas X was dressed in what appeared to be a ladies maid outfit while singing with muppet penguins. It also showed real chicks hatching and covered in the left over egg goo. And in the 2019 Dora movie she repeatedly talks about mating and lizards are shown mating. She also sings a song about digging a hole to poop in. Disney is just being biased because they aren’t the ones who created Bluey.
Im pretty sure the episode was banned because of the similarities to rebirthing therapy. It was banned in Colorado after a 10yr old girl died in a session. The previous episodes have dolls acting as babies whereas we see an actual child as the baby here.
If it was the third reason, it's dumb, especially because I'm pretty sure that the parents who are complaining remember watching the Full House episode where Jesse was wearing a sympathy pad
It TECHNICALLY is available in the US It's in the Target exclusive DVD Set of Bluey Seasons 1 & 2 I saw the episode and it's not that offensive It's basically Bandit experiencing pregnancy (which Chilli talked him into) and they don't make it a "stunning and brave" thing out of it at all really as they had fun with the scenario let alone force the topic in your face
As I said in the video and title it’s Disney that has banned it, but it is available for purchase in iTunes and Amazon prime. And I agree I think it was done in a really fun and playful way
Tbh, when i reviewed this episode i've said that it's not that bad, is quite funny Yet, the story itself it's slightly weird, but i mean, they're talking dogs, of course weird stuff happens in this universe lol Great video as always Margie ❤️✌️
Aww thank you!! Yeah I found the episode quite funny as well and I remember as kids pretending to copy our mums and be pregnant so to me as an Aussie I don’t see anything wrong with the episode from that point of view
I mean I've seen dads play with their kids the exact same way Bandit does in that episode and it should be seen as a dad playing with his kids creating memories!
I wonder if the reason Dad Mom was censored is because of the way mainstream conservative culture is evolving. As an American from what I can see from this show alone is that Australian men appear to be comfortable in their masculinity unlike much of American culture now. A man raising his two daughters and being a decent parent shouldn’t be seen as threatening, but it is. Modern conservative culture: men are men and should be working. Child rearing is woman’s work. If you’re taking care of children you’re not a real man. Australia: Being a decent human and taking care of your kids isn’t demeaning and doesn’t make you less of a man.
Ik this is from a month ago but like the reasoning for a lot of things Disney likes to ban anything that gives representation to LGBTQ+ take the fact that Priya from turning red was supposed to have a kissing scene with the goth girl and that Pixar likes to give better representation to LGBTQ+ that they most likely have threatened to disperse from Disney just so they can have the rep
Now, Pixar’s recent film Elemental did feature a non binary character named Lake. Granted Lake wasn’t really a main character and was in the film for maybe a minute in total
Or the 1980's "Calvin & Hobbes" route... "I CAME FROM SEARS?!" "No! YOU were a Blue Light Special at K-Mart. Almost as good, but a lot cheaper!" or... "Let me look at the back of your shirt... You came from Taiwan."
The Zach and Cody scene reminded me that in a ‘Jessie’ episode, there is a lot of jokes about health class and where babies come from. If you want to know what episode I think it is S1 E26: The Secret Life of Mr. Kipling.
@@aussiegirlmargie A real gut-buster (Literally! LOL!). Ludo should get Bluey done by a channel that won't be as skiddish, like Nick, PBS or Paramount. This is getting ridiculous!
i do have to point out that disney does in fact have trans/non-binary representation within their show 'the owl house' with two separate characters, although that's more of the effort put in to show it from the owl house team and the creator of the show, dana terrace, rather than disney themselves. but still, incredibly scarce rep that disney likely wasn't too keen on.
What I feel like they could do with the whole childbirth scene is have that episode placed in the adult account like I don't know if you know this but the movie turning red is PG but you cannot find it on a child's account on Disney Plus so what if they have that episode hidden from a child's account but you can watch it like any other episode on an adult's account
I never watched this episode but only through certain clips and edits from it like the iconic "I didn't know THIS was the something" or "Morning Wendy". But what I find interesting when they had another pregnant episode but I think why Disney have that episode is because it's more subtle? Not too intense just a quick boom next patient. And I'm pretty sure that it doesn't last long. I don't know
I’d say the transphobic would make the most sense as from what I know, they don’t like LGBTQ.. My reason behind thinking this is in The Owl House, almost all characters are LGBTQ, (there’s NB, ace, les, and more) but Disney wasn’t the one to make the idea, but they passed it. Season three started and we only get three episodes for it, so it’s short because Disney doesn’t like it..
Maybe, but it’s still remarkable that Disney allowed it to get a proper ending. For what the writers had to deal with, it’s amazing the finale was as amazing and emotional as it was. Especially the epilogue
It’s because of the stigma homebirth and midwifery carries in US vs places like Australia and the UK where it’s normal to have a baby at home with a midwife if you have medical clearance to. Unless you’ve done it yourself in the states most people don’t realize how different we treat it here. Versus other first world countries… that’s why the other birth scene is “safe” because it’s in a hospital.. I’m in Florida where we have some very serious anti lgbtq legislation happening but it’s a mistake for people to think this was censored for that reason, I don’t believe it for a second but only because I had a homebirth last year and know how my country views it :( it’s classist and horrible and a serious issue and Disney could have left it up to parents to skip that episode but they decided to censor it instead. It’s really disheartening that people don’t see the real reason why it’s been banned, and are attributing it to a anti lgbtq agenda, because there are other minority groups hurt by it. This would have been a great teaching tool for my son, I should not have to jump through hoops to get to it considering I pay for Disney+ Appreciate you making the time for the video, subscribed!
You bring up a great point with the idea of home births vs hospitals as well!! If I ever manage to get an interview with Joe Brumm it’s one of the top things I want to ask to see if Ludo Studios was told why they couldn’t air it
I personally don’t think the childbirth part is that bad, I remember doing stuff like hospital and pretending to be pregnant when I was a little kid with my sibling, usually there was no re enactment although I probably done it at least one because family and baby doll games were my favourite thing to do 😂
Personally I think that the reason Disney banned the cartoon is not because they don't want kids to know how childbirth works, but they were worried that kids who were to young to understand would start asking parents questions and when the parents would say, "oh the stork brings the baby" Or something along those lines, the kid would then be like, "That's not how they showed it in Bluey." Basically forcing a parent to explain how childbirth actually works when they are not ready to have that conversation with there kid, or they don't know how to have that conversation in an appropriate manner for their child's age.
They do play a lot and Bluey has a great imagination, it pretty understandable but this is why I don't like censorship because of complaints, speaking of imagination .. I just noticed the butler Jerry Lee is I think a reference to the movie K-9 with Jim Belushi
Yeah the fact they thought they’d get complaints is sad, again it shows a interesting divide between cultures in Australia and America and what we find appropriate or funny
There is 1 trans character, who is non binary from the owl house. The owl house is the Disney show with the most representation because Disney is still pretty conservative
One year later, there is now Lake, a non binary character in Elemental. Lake isn’t really in the film much though, and Lake’s gender isn’t even brought up and you’d never guess Lake was non binary. I’m not transphobic or anything and didn’t have any issue with it but I’m just saying .
@@mars_starz420 Agreed And for Elemental, I even remember reading some ridiculous and overblown “controversy” online about how the film was “woke” because of a non binary character being in it. I was like “have these people even seen the film? Lake is barely even in it.”
Why is Disney talking about abuse when Disney literally made scar kill mufasa and Belle nearly getting killed by wolves is okay for children but buttermilk taking a turd is too ''controversial'' for children like what-
Bluey is for PRESCHOOLERS Lion King and Beauty and the Beast is for older kids or audiences. Plus they’re from two different Disney studios with different people working in it. Why is that so hard to understand that? Disney is not just one studio you know.
@@theumpireofthebottomlesspitThose two films are rated G, though by todays standards they’d likely be PG . I don’t get though there was a “birds and bees” joke on the pilot movie for Lion Guard. Simba asks Kion “we need to talk”. And then Kion says “oh no dad! We already had that talk!” Simba then laughs and says “it’s not that Kion”. It was funny though how Simba already gave Kion the talk despite Kion still being a child at that point
@@RYMAN1321Well, that’s the thing “by today’s standards” I mean, I’m pretty sure the live action movies of The Lion King and Beauty and The Beast are definitely rated PG. Besides you need to understand that those are movies and are probably allowed to get away with mature themes than a tv show because a tv show has more stricter than ratings. I mean, I’m not going to say that Disney isn’t going a bit far with censoring Bluey, but give Disney a bit of break please. They were probably told that they have to censor things then with Lion King and Beauty and The Beast. That does not really make them a hypocrite.
@@theumpireofthebottomlesspit You bring up some good points. I will also add though that I’m sure a lot of young children still watch the G and PG rated Disney films, both animated and live action. I know kids that watched G and PG Disney films as young as 3-4. Not to mention the G rating for movies is basically dead now, and many PG films are pretty tame anymore
The Owl House has a nonbinary character but they also arnt a human if they asked literally any transgender person i'm sure they'd find that we'd love to see the normalization of men having babies through cartoons and through a dad playing with his kids. i at the very least adore gender roles being swapped and played with so i'm pretty sure if its a trans issue it's them being transphobic, not trying to be an ally

I have this episode on an American DVD box set that has the first 2 seasons. It’s included as a bonus episode on the season 2 part 1 disc. I have no idea why it was banned.
I have a possible reason why disney banned the episode. well, when mum calls dad a "pregnant man," she later says "youll never forget that first kick." it may tie with one of margies reasons. so im sorry. i just wanted to say something because i think margie is cool🙂
I found the episode hilarious! I was so glad it was included with the complete season 1 and 2 dvd set along with other uncut episodes (the episodes are the bonus called Australian Originals)
I had no idea!! Not surprised tho, being an American, wishing I lived in Australia (for real)…and Disney nowadays lol! I came to youtube to get a sneak peek of the Bluey play that we’re literally on our way to see in Philadelphia right now! I don’t know who’s more excited- me (mom) or my daughter lol!! Thanks for this great info!! We’ll be watching and subscribed!!
I think it was censored because of the "graphic" depiction of birth. It IS a baby show after all. Toddlers don't really need to be seeing that stuff juuuuust yet. That's probably the only reason it was cut. But they could have just ended the episode early instead of cutting it all out.
Toddlers won't even know what's happening because most toddlers can't understand long sentences. I can rememberso many scenes when I watched Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory(1971) as a child way back when. I didn't remember anything they said. I was a toddler. But I loved it and laughed at it because of the way Gene Wilder (Willy Wonka) and the Oompa Loompas acted on scene. I didn't know why Violet blew up like a balloon or why Agustus got stuck in the tube but I still found it funny. I laughed my ass off as a toddler. But I rewatched it as an adult a couple years back and finally could understand what they were saying. I remembered everything in the movie from a kid but this time I can understand the content. If I was a toddler watching that scene in bluey, I would be laughing because I'd think the dad looks silly. I wouldn't understand what's happening and when toddlers can't male sense of something it's usually funny to them. There is no blood there is no graphic content. So I really don't see the reason for the ban. People really underestimate kids.
@@0CaptainZer0 Both maybe? But it’s not toddlers that are the target audience. It’s for 2-7 year olds. And while the 2-3 year olds are technically toddlers the rest is preschool through 2nd grade. And my Kindergartner kind of gets it. But only because her older cousin gave birth last year.
As a nurse I wish childbirth and early ( age appropriate) sex education was taught more in younger children. It is a clear fact that kids who have been exposed to proper terms and ideas are better advocates for themselves and have lower rates of sexual abuse. Child birth is a normal and natural thing.
I did watch dad baby I love how bingo pretend to be a baby but what that part where bingo was eating a chocolate cupcake thing you know that part of title card and where bandit get something to eat and then bingo grab the dessert treat thing if you understand what I’m saying just curious(btw when Lucky was talking about Pat’s favorite sports crickets when I watch I thought lucky was talking about something the crickets were falling love or was Shanelle having a baby on board, I was just saying when I first watch the episode just curious too.)
Oh they are eating a deep fried dim sim! It’s a very popular food in Australia that you can get from Chinese restaurants or fish&chip shops too! Cricket is definitely our major sport in Australia and is quite popular in the UK and South Asia too, but I noticed it’s very rare to see it in the US
2:42 I agree with you it's not like what Lois Griffin did to Peter when he announced to her that he was going to go in the middle of the park strip naked and cover himself in brown paint all the while wearing an afro wig because she then starts beating him up violently with the newspaper to the point where Peter is scared and is clearly in a lot of pain
Come on, we know disney. It's #3/4. Just look at how they treated the Owl House, or anyone else within the genderqueer spectrum. They will NOT support anything like this.
Owl House wasn’t even good though. Only “edgy” teens watched it. Most of Disney’s child audience would turn it because it’s boring/dark/scary or the parents don’t like the occult references. I personally think Gravity Falls is another one that fits that category. Also Disney has “tried” and flopped with gay teen characters as recently as this past November with Strange World (seen it. It’s eye candy with a plot ripped from certain mythologies. Ok but not great.)
It's obviously due to the over the top birth scene. I disagree it being banned though, and I find the episode absolutely hilarious😂 Honestly, I have never enjoyed a kids show so much, well, except when I was a kid, but I'm 30 now. This show is one I can actually sit through, unlike that dreaded Cocomelon dumpster fire that makes me want to choose violence when I hear it.
Can I just say- the whole ‘women can only have baby’s’ thing works- unless you take trans men into consideration because before transitioning they can have baby’s and they aren’t women atleast I’m a trans man and I don’t see myself as a women yet I can still have babys. I’m just saying also I’m from Australia to! Aussie Pride! Lol
I'm not looking to talk shit or insult you, but not everybody agrees with your ideology. Most people still believe that only women can have babies and there's only two genders.
Turning red was contriversal- mom won’t let the little kids watch it because of all the adult relating talks in it- plus back then- Disney had dying scenes left and right like Lion King and some other famous Disney movies- they took out the FUNNIEST parts in Bluey and the most informative/emotional episodes- I wanna cry 😭
That’s ridiculous, Turning Red isn’t even explicit at all when it comes to the period discussions. Most young kids probably wouldn’t understand what was being talked about
@@RYMAN1321Thank you?! Tired with people treating Turning Red as nothing but a movie talking about periods or a girl getting her period, just over a few scenes that only mentioned pads.🙄 Of course that’s why it’s rated PG. However, it could be rated PG for other reasons too. Such as the use of “crap” or “sexy.”
I wish they had just put a heads up on what's in the episode so parents could decide. My son LOVES Bluey and we watch it almost every day. It's actually playing now, and I wish we could watch the dad baby episode. The only valid argument they could use is that some parents want to teach the "stork method" of delivery, and that's totally fine, but anything else just seems a little dumb. I don't think Disney cares about LGBTQIA+
*throws in my 2 cents* maybe disney might have been worried about *ahem* /some/ aspects of fandom, one that came to my mind was, um, mpreg, mainly because in most fanworks, it can be seen as fetishized granted i'm currently in some /adult/ fandoms, but it's still a probability
dam i didn’t even think abt that- idk if Disney would think abt that but i would not be surprised if the fandom did that, if the Bluey fandom is like the other recent(ish) Disney cartoon fandoms im in then they wouldn’t be against doing some weird sh!t (and judging from what a lot of the common fanfic tags r on ao3 for Bluey the fandom isn’t too great w/ that stuff-)
Its also banned in Denmark. Lucky i has seen it and it was pretty okay. I DEFINALLY Think the whole Childbirth thing is why it got banned. Cause the Show are made to 0 - 5 Year olds originally. BUUUT I Also think they has a hidden campagne that its for Adults too :3.
Most likely the trans issue is why they don't air dad baby (plus the vasectomy talk in picture perfect).. there are right wing channels that go hard against anything disney puts out that might be slightly inclusive ... there are rage channels based on firebug lesbian mothers...
I think its a combination of them all really, too many things going on they'd possibly get complaints about, I kinda liked the way "Horsie ride" was a under the radar 'Marriage equality' ep without being all preachy about it, really surprised BBC showed the Pooping Pony bit too [Markets] they're normally big on censoring stuff

Cuz no parents ever do that in the US.

What about in the owl house season 2 episode 21 just what happened in that episode I am shock how it didn’t get banned
Dad Baby is such a fantastic portrayal of what pregnancy is like, not only that but the idea that husbands think we’re “putting it on” when we aren’t! As a mum this episode SPOKE to me so much
Yes 👏 👏 👏 it’s in my top five episodes because of this
I saw a man on tv once who wore an empathy suit for the whole 9 months of his wife's pregnancy. The only time he took it off was to shower so it didn't get ruined. I also saw a guy on TV who shocked himself everytime his wife had a contraction.
That's a amazing dad right there
It’s fascinating how much Disney has censored from Bluey that is just seen as everyday regular entertainment in australia
I’ll never get over that they censored the poop from the horse 🤦🏼♀️

@@rubys_szn you keep appearing everywhere! where do you live on? I'm not able to see it because I'm in phillippines! and where do you watch it?
Same here. Personally i think everyone should just explain it to kids as just a basic biology lesson.
@Alysha Harper Oh God I didn't need to know the Billy Goat thing wtf.
My mom did the same thing.
my mom told me they came from her stomach and cut it since i was a c-section so i always believed everyone was a c-section back then
tbf, my family made a weirder version of childbirth by saying that babies grew in the stomach and either "out the bum" or through C-section (aka how i was born), all I did at most is question how the baby didn't die from stomach acids but I was otherwise fine.

Actually I was just wondering about that! I knew reading the comments would help thanks !
My DVD copy of season 1 and 2 has NBC Universal as the distributor. It’s an NTSC North American copy.
*all these years i thought Disney owned bluey*
I agree with every reason except for the Domestic Violence Reason, Literally Chilli seemed to be play fighting, my dad does it to his brother so idk why that would be a problem😕. Btw I love the pink hair, it's very stylish😊
Yeah I think it’s just play fighting too, I was surprised to see some people thought it was a reason on Reddit so thought it was important to include
Disney will put up with a lot of things, but anything related to sex or sexuality has always been a big no-no for them
Exactly. The newspaper was playful tapping. She was being playful with him.

It's not only early baby, but also the episode about Bluey and Bingo doing the "play" about Bingo having "a baby in her belly", when doing the play about Bandit and Chili
The episode called the show
In "The Show" I think the part where the balloon pops either signified a miscarriage, or that Bluey came early. But considering how "Chili" (portrayed by Bingo) had to have a cry & pull herself together... I'm leaning toward the former.
They also censored the swing clip where bingo asks dad how do baby’s get in the ladies bellies
They did? I remember watching that episode and then bandit saying “umm go ask your mom” or something like that
@@thereal_sunsetbandit just let’s go of the swing, making bingo spin instead. Lol.
Oh yeah I remember now
I’m watching that episode right now
8:06 speaking of Lilo and Stitch you know Disney had to reanimate one scene when the film was released on Disney+ and that was the scene where Lilo crawls out of a tumble dryer
It’s crazy, because these reasons are stupid. Kids don’t see it the way adults do so
Bluey is amazing and all of the "banned" episodes and scenes have been amazing as well. They definitely shouldn't have censored any of those things.
Is there more than one banned episode?
BLUEY IS A HUMAN
Pat shouting to Bandit, saying, "I didn't know this was the something!"got me laughing so hatd!
"Harden up, Pat! You grew up on a farm!"
"We grew SORGHUM!"
I learned how babies are born around 5-7 years old because I kept wondering and asking my parents where they came from
They gave you the talk at that age?
You didn’t get weirded out or uncomfortable?
Fun fact when I was really young my grandpa had.. a really round shaped stomach and that was right around when I figured out where babies come from but I didn’t know about the whole gender thing. So I asked him one day “do you have a baby in your belly?” And then there was an awkward silence. Lol I was so young!
My brother asked that to my grandfather. A month ago 😅
@@blueyeditz0fficial LOL 😂
It might be linked to the second theory. Instead of not showing the idea of pregnancy, Disney doesn't want to scare the kids with all the screaming and yelling. They might not want to traumatize the children, so they are not afraid of the idea of when they are seeing a new relative or in the future when they have one themselves.

Paramount also mishandled the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie design and if they had ignored the fans pleas for redesign it would have been worse.
How would they be covered in poo (do you mean blood)
@@thereal_sunset When pushing hard, poo is definitely going to come out as you push. Because you're pushing something out, something else you might not want to push out may be excreted as well. And it's completely normal for it to happen.
@ Krisleepy oh okay
Disney is known for censoring LGBT+ in multiple places, so its VERY likely to be the case. i'd say it doesnt help the LGBT+ community either, as its only proving conservatives being extremely paranoid as they always love to be.
the episode could also be seen as understanding what its like to give birth, and grow more respect towards women. as for old shows compared to now: a lot of 'rules' changed over time, which is sad in my opinion
When has Disney ever censored LGBTQ stuff?

I have several friends who identify as non binary but not as transgender, so while I 100% understand listing non-binary people when talking about trans characters, I think it’s fair to recognize that not all enby people want to be referred to as a transgender person,,

Raine is great
I think I know the reason and i think all you're reasons are correct Disney only really care about money and they knew people would complain about the reasons you mentioned and Disney doesn't like to take risks so the easy thing to do was banned it my opinion dad baby is probably one of the funniest episodes to date
💯!! Money is what matters at the end of the day to them, and I agree I love this episode it’s so funny
Eh… It’s funny but I still think The Sleep Over is funnier. Sleep deprived Muffin is so quotable. Meanwhile Dad Baby is not quotable.
@@princesspikachu3915 the sleep over is hilarious i don't think its as funny as dad baby but it's still funny and definitely one of the most quotable episodes My name is Bububab
"Dad Baby", "Sleepover" and "Faceytalk" are the funniest episodes I've seen, so far. OMG! "Asparagus" is also a scream!
So which out of the four reasons did you think Disney banned it for???
Honestly Margie, I Think It's A Different Reason. I Mean Yes Disney Was A Little Meh With Representation But If You Look At Shows Like The Owl House It Shows That Disney Is Getting Better
I think it was a mixture of reason 2 and 4
Reason 3 and 4 is most likely the reasons and its just Disney playing it safe.

Also many older children have been shown to attend their own siblings home births.
Its far more likely to be political
On Sesame Street there were two dads on the episode where Granny Bird visits Big Bird. There was also an episode where Lil’ Nas X was dressed in what appeared to be a ladies maid outfit while singing with muppet penguins. It also showed real chicks hatching and covered in the left over egg goo. And in the 2019 Dora movie she repeatedly talks about mating and lizards are shown mating. She also sings a song about digging a hole to poop in. Disney is just being biased because they aren’t the ones who created Bluey.
please dont use the term "transgendered"
Im pretty sure the episode was banned because of the similarities to rebirthing therapy. It was banned in Colorado after a 10yr old girl died in a session.
The previous episodes have dolls acting as babies whereas we see an actual child as the baby here.
If it was the third reason, it's dumb, especially because I'm pretty sure that the parents who are complaining remember watching the Full House episode where Jesse was wearing a sympathy pad
It TECHNICALLY is available in the US
It's in the Target exclusive DVD Set of Bluey Seasons 1 & 2
I saw the episode and it's not that offensive
It's basically Bandit experiencing pregnancy (which Chilli talked him into)
and they don't make it a "stunning and brave" thing out of it at all really as they had fun with the scenario let alone force the topic in your face
As I said in the video and title it’s Disney that has banned it, but it is available for purchase in iTunes and Amazon prime. And I agree I think it was done in a really fun and playful way
My theory would be that this would have given the show the TV-14 or TV-PG rating, not so much TV-MA
Tbh, when i reviewed this episode i've said that it's not that bad, is quite funny
Yet, the story itself it's slightly weird, but i mean, they're talking dogs, of course weird stuff happens in this universe lol
Great video as always Margie ❤️✌️
“Hey dad, where do babies come from?”
“I bought you off the shelf at dollar general.”
Or the 1980's "Calvin & Hobbes" route...
"I CAME FROM SEARS?!"
"No! YOU were a Blue Light Special at K-Mart. Almost as good, but a lot cheaper!"
or...
Kipling.
I don’t have any children yet, but I watched it on some pirate site and I found it hilarious since my mother is a Midwife
It is one of the funniest episodes for sure!!
@@aussiegirlmargie A real gut-buster (Literally! LOL!). Ludo should get Bluey done by a channel that won't be as skiddish, like Nick, PBS or Paramount.
This is getting ridiculous!
I'm 17 years old and i love watching Bluey and i Also draw Bluey characters too
i do have to point out that disney does in fact have trans/non-binary representation within their show 'the owl house' with two separate characters, although that's more of the effort put in to show it from the owl house team and the creator of the show, dana terrace, rather than disney themselves. but still, incredibly scarce rep that disney likely wasn't too keen on.
I don't know
6:52 to be fair though male seahorses give birth as opposed to the females
I’d say the transphobic would make the most sense as from what I know, they don’t like LGBTQ..
My reason behind thinking this is in The Owl House, almost all characters are LGBTQ, (there’s NB, ace, les, and more) but Disney wasn’t the one to make the idea, but they passed it. Season three started and we only get three episodes for it, so it’s short because Disney doesn’t like it..
not to forget the show being censored or even banned in a lot of countries for showing LGBT+
@@thedutchgamelife6264 yup
Maybe, but it’s still remarkable that Disney allowed it to get a proper ending.
For what the writers had to deal with, it’s amazing the finale was as amazing and emotional as it was. Especially the epilogue
@@RYMAN1321 they did do a really good job wrapping it up, but I know Dana wanted to have so much more Boiling Isles lore and stories
Again with the ignorant belief that Disney “cancelled“ toh because LGBTQ? 🙄
I’m in Florida where we have some very serious anti lgbtq legislation happening but it’s a mistake for people to think this was censored for that reason, I don’t believe it for a second but only because I had a homebirth last year and know how my country views it :(
it’s classist and horrible and a serious issue and Disney could have left it up to parents to skip that episode but they decided to censor it instead. It’s really disheartening that people don’t see the real reason why it’s been banned, and are attributing it to a anti lgbtq agenda, because there are other minority groups hurt by it. This would have been a great teaching tool for my son, I should not have to jump through hoops to get to it considering I pay for Disney+
Appreciate you making the time for the video, subscribed!
You bring up a great point with the idea of home births vs hospitals as well!! If I ever manage to get an interview with Joe Brumm it’s one of the top things I want to ask to see if Ludo Studios was told why they couldn’t air it
The drone with the bassinet attached had me in tears that was so funny!!
I personally don’t think the childbirth part is that bad, I remember doing stuff like hospital and pretending to be pregnant when I was a little kid with my sibling, usually there was no re enactment although I probably done it at least one because family and baby doll games were my favourite thing to do 😂
Lol same
Personally I think that the reason Disney banned the cartoon is not because they don't want kids to know how childbirth works, but they were worried that kids who were to young to understand would start asking parents questions and when the parents would say, "oh the stork brings the baby" Or something along those lines, the kid would then be like, "That's not how they showed it in Bluey." Basically forcing a parent to explain how childbirth actually works when they are not ready to have that conversation with there kid, or they don't know how to have that conversation in an appropriate manner for their child's age.
Honestly love you doing this as a deep diver I need an outlet for this cause I can’t talk to my son about it
There is 1 trans character, who is non binary from the owl house. The owl house is the Disney show with the most representation because Disney is still pretty conservative
I just started watching owl house after so many people here recommending it and I can see why, it’s great!
@Aussie Girl Margie :)
One year later, there is now Lake, a non binary character in Elemental.
Lake isn’t really in the film much though, and Lake’s gender isn’t even brought up and you’d never guess Lake was non binary.
I’m not transphobic or anything and didn’t have any issue with it but I’m just saying .
@@RYMAN1321 no I agree lake doesn’t really count. It’s like the lesbian character in onward.

i love how u have dedicated soe of ur channel to bluey!! even ur pfp (not to mention so cute!!) and bluey is aussie sooooooo
We already had that talk!”
Simba then laughs and says “it’s not that Kion”.

I will also add though that I’m sure a lot of young children still watch the G and PG rated Disney films, both animated and live action.

@@ameliawilder28 True. We could either be underestimating toddlers, or Disney(and I kinda) could be overestimating toddlers.

The owl house was not “cancelled” because Disney hates LGBTQ. My god.
It's obviously due to the over the top birth scene. I disagree it being banned though, and I find the episode absolutely hilarious😂
Honestly, I have never enjoyed a kids show so much, well, except when I was a kid, but I'm 30 now.
It is literally just a fun joke because the dad is going through what his wife went through, and they are just having fun re-enacting what happened
Tired with people treating Turning Red as nothing but a movie talking about periods or a girl getting her period, just over a few scenes that only mentioned pads.🙄
Of course that’s why it’s rated PG. However, it could be rated PG for other reasons too. Such as the use of “crap” or “sexy.”
Because Bluey is rated TV-Y and Turning Red and some movies is rated PG? Of course it’s not for “little kids.” 🙄

If it's that last one, I want to see the company's reaction to finding out that the heir to the company is Walt's transgender grandson.
Like Chili Healer said that this episode isn't gonna end well.
😂 a meta joke for sure
*throws in my 2 cents* maybe disney might have been worried about *ahem* /some/ aspects of fandom, one that came to my mind was, um, mpreg, mainly because in most fanworks, it can be seen as fetishized
granted i'm currently in some /adult/ fandoms, but it's still a probability
dam i didn’t even think abt that-
idk if Disney would think abt that but i would not be surprised if the fandom did that, if the Bluey fandom is like the other recent(ish) Disney cartoon fandoms im in then they wouldn’t be against doing some weird sh!t (and judging from what a lot of the common fanfic tags r on ao3 for Bluey the fandom isn’t too great w/ that stuff-)
I just watched this, having been pregnant and given birth it was spot on 😂 it looks so much easier than ‘for real life’
Its also banned in Denmark. Lucky i has seen it and it was pretty okay. I DEFINALLY Think the whole Childbirth thing is why it got banned. Cause the Show are made to 0 - 5 Year olds originally. BUUUT I Also think they has a hidden campagne that its for Adults too :3.
Disney sometimes it's stupid and censor things for no reason
Most likely the trans issue is why they don't air dad baby (plus the vasectomy talk in picture perfect).. there are right wing channels that go hard against anything disney puts out that might be slightly inclusive ... there are rage channels based on firebug lesbian mothers...
I think its a combination of them all really, too many things going on they'd possibly get complaints about, I kinda liked the way "Horsie ride" was a under the radar 'Marriage equality' ep without being all preachy about it, really surprised BBC showed the Pooping Pony bit too [Markets] they're normally big on censoring stuff
