All the comments saying it's a BMW which is literally not an insult, needs to understand that the brand may not have lived if BMW didn't buy them. Secondly all Mini Coopers are nothing less than sports cars yes sports cars a reliability issue is something you should go buy a Toyota or Honda with if you drive a sports car you may have to tune it every once in awhile. HAIL MINI and you loved this video that's why you watched it lol
Had my first incounter and ride in a Mini back in the 60's hitchhiking home from school, from then I've always wanted one, finally at 61 years old I picked up a 2012 MCS, I love this car, I've never felt so connected to the road, that was 3 years ago, next month is my last payment and she's all mine. The only problem I've had is hitting a 30 pound dog at 50 mph, really thought it was going to be totaled, but the spirit of John Cooper was looking over me and after $7,700 of work I got her back, shes never had any of the natorious fluid issues, I'm guessing I got a good build, also, I believe she only had one owner before and it she was always garaged, the interior looked almost brand new
I have a Countryman S everyday is like new that car is so exciting to drive so much character. I didn't know I had a dream car but I do I literally would only get the Hybrid version over this its perfect for me...is the Countryman recognized by many people I hope so I put Mini on the Off-road scene
So is motortrend going to start broadcasting the SRO races in the US???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? (imagine infinite question marks getting ever larger)
@@loucyphers_nightmare yeah I used to own an r53 was a great car to drive but it cost me thousands in repairs and still didn't work but imo that's the best looking Mini. But the r56 aren't bad looking at all.
Actually .... originaly designed by rover ..... bmw snapped up the mini design when they bought the company in a raffle for 3.50 and a bag of harribo ........ there are actually pictures of pre production cars with ...Rover Pilkinton stamped on the glass
@@derekmcfadyen127 Rover had been working on a new Mini, but there wasn’t enough energy behind it to become a full project. BMW stepped in, and before 1994 was out, had commissioned various parties, including Rover and BMW’s design offices, Giugiaro in Italy and Design Research Associates in the UK, to come up with ideas for the next Mini. Rover engineers did a fantastic job of packaging the car and making it drive as well as it did. In 2000, Rover’s involvement with the Mini’s development stopped, and it was BMW that eased the new car into production - and just over six months after the original Mini ceased production in October 2000, the first new Minis rolled off the line in Cowley. In a design shoot-out at the end of 1995, a group made up of seven BMW and seven Rover executives plumped for Frank Stephenson’s design - and just two years’ later, the new-generation Mini .
The f56 reliability is a lot better now that the entire car is built by mini and bmw, I wouldn’t call them unreliable anymore, but if something does break, it will cost you👍
Overheating ... clutch failing ...water leaking ... constant misfiring ... piles of junk....... a car that wont do the distance after 3 years old ...... money pit of a car
Just bought a 2009 cooper S and i have never had more fun driving

I enjoy these cars so much that ive collected three gen 2s so far 🤙 fun, rare and very reliable if maintained properly
We have worked with Luis and his team and I can honestly say they are the nicest group of people in the paddock!

Mini need a TCR program
Congrats to the homie clay
won the Monte Carlo ralley going 160 mph!😂
My 2L WRX ate my friends Cooper S. Untill it ate it's engine.
They are great cars, if only they started when you turned the key. And as far as I'm concerned Honda still has the fastest best fwd car.
But the new Hondas are butt ugly
@@loucyphers_nightmare the brand new civic isn't bad, I'll agree the 10th was hideous. But like the f56 isn't the best looking car either.

Just an awful car ...... shoe horning an engine into a shoe box .... destined to overheat .....
Are you reliable Sandra?
@Tejvir more so than your Mellon.
i have to be honest, i have never liked the mini's and with much humility, after watching this, i still dislike them. very much so.

Sounds like you bought a lemon.
Never had a major problem with my cooper S's either you bought a cheap gen 1 or you just dont know how to take care of these cars LOL
Btw had my first mini for 6 years with only 1 problem being an oil leak, fixed it within a couple of days 👌
