During that time when I was in Manila, my friend told me to go with him at EDSA, I refused, instead I went home to Bulacan at my Aunt's place and watching TV, monitoring the situation. While watching Gen. Favian Ver, asking Pres. Marcos saying these words, if I remember correctly, " Sir, the men are ready, we are waiting for your order" Marcos replied, " No, no bloodshed" suddenly, the tv broadcast was cut off, the government tv station was taken over by Cory's supporters and controlled by them, so that Marcos cannot continue broadcasting on air.

Sina Braulio Balbas at Artemio Tadiar, mga Marines sila, pero they secretly sided with the revolutionaries in 1986. Balbas chose not to fight the rebels and Tadiar was recruited by RAM beforehand (kaya lang, dahil sa poor communication, wala rin). These two are the unsung heroes of the revolution.

"disperse them without shooting" - Marcos
      Mendiola rally
      "shoot them"- Cory
All Marcos did is according to constitution so how can you call him a dictator? Martial law is in constitution, power invested by the people to control terrorist and rebellion, is it Marcos imposed that directly? No, it's the legislative body, the people, the congress yet you all blame him for that? It's enrile and Ramos who controls the military at that time with martial law yet all the blame was on Marcos, if you don't know anything don't blab your mouth.

Sure, Enrile and Ramos may have the control of the military but they have no power with regards to declaring Martial Law. We want freedom rather than having industrial projects whose aim is to sugarcoat all that's happened in the country.

@@doctorjacksonville7092 idiot, yes we all want freedom but there's a limitation to that and also without discipline, peace and order the society sure to collapse. Yes the power to execute or declare the martial law is only the executive branch which is the the president but it doesn't just because he wants to but he needs to, and mind you all branches of government including the citizen agree to that, we are in a democracy after all where majority wins and the decision of majority is the priority.

We enjoyed good hospital service ,free of charge. Lrt was safe en cheap.Disaster en relief operations are at hand en on time . equipped with people's needs.etc etc.So numerous to enumerate. I honestly say , I REGRET being there in edsa 1 bec it is the Birth of Corruption ,Proliferation of Leftists en the Fall of the Country.

What I regret is that subsequent presidents failed to eradicate the corruption that has been plaguing our country since Marcos. The fight against corruption is not over.

Meanwhile outside Manila 1986, people were living peacefully. I asked my parents how was it during Martial Law, my mom said there was a strict curfew and no one was out on the street when the night falls but life was just normal, most notably the prices of commodities then were way cheaper than today. I don't know about other Filipinos but our history books need revision. The people who attended EDSA revolution represented merely an estimate of (more or less) 2% of the entire population (in 1986). For me, what happened was a power grab. Aquino lost the election but they (the oligarchs behind her) wanted the power so bad. As a result, post-EDSA Philippines was worse than Martial law era. The utility companies that once owned by the government during Marcos were sold to oligarchs, important projects such as nuclear power plants that can help lessen the energy cost, and infrastructures were halted, left to waste for decades. These imprudent actions put the entire Filipinos at the mercy of the elite few who now have control over the country's economy.
What was the point of all ruckus in the 1986 revolution? Clearly, Cory Aquino did not know how to run a country, she didn't have any political background other than being a housewife of a late senator. Giving her the title "the mother of democracy" is ridiculous and insulting to people who never felt the oppression of Marcos era. Democracy was never lost! The post-EDSA seems like a dream that centers upon revering a woman who instilled herself (illegally) as President, a woman who "brought" democracy but in reality, the woman who brought our ultimate downfall.
EDSA revolution, like the senseless wars in history, shouldn't have happened.

He was initially part of Marcos's regime, as the head of propaganda, but he defected in 1975. During his time as head of propaganda, he had collected books, files, documents, dated checks. A year after he published the book in 1976 (despite Marcos's best efforts to stop the publishing), he vanished. He was never found, and has been declared legally dead. His son was kidnapped by the Marcos government and found mutilated at the top of a mountain.

My Lola was there in the EDSA so-called "people power" revolution because they were told by their company that they will not receive their salary for that week if they do not come. My grandmother and her coworkers didn't even know it was going to be a REVOLUTION!!!!!! My family loved the President Ferdinand Marcos at that time!!!!!!

We are all deceived here in the Philippines. After Marcos left the Philippines and Cory took office as President. To sum it all up. Cory gave Oligarchy the right to do whatever the fuck they want. Ex: Meralco. Electric Bills are always high. 1987 Constitution. Sabah, North Borneo is no longer being claimed by Philippines as one of its Territories. As of today, Cory's son Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III will pass Bangsamoro Basic Law (Bangsa= Country and Moro = Muslim, hence Muslim Country) as a Pact of Peace to Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Who also hide Terrorist like Bomb Expert Zulkifli "Marwan" Abdhir and Abdul Basit Usman that also lead to the deaths of 44 Brave Special Action Forces (SAF) of Philippine National Police. I won't be surprised if Mindanao itself become part of Malaysia since MILF is supported by Malaysia.
