I was political science student back in 1999-2003, pumunta kami sa senate for parliamentary audience/observer tapos nagpa picture kami sa mga senators isa dun si senator Honasan, pero sya lang yung nag stay after mag pa picture at nakipag kwentuhan sa amin ng ilang minuto. Napaka humble at lahat ng sinasabi sa amin direct to the point. very smart.

Ang problema, nag te-take ng side ang mga Filipino between Marcos and Aquino administration. Success ang Edsa Revolution, kaso ang problema sa mga filipino back then, sigaw sila nang sigaw sa pangalan ni Cory Aquino. Ni hindi pa nga nila kilalang kilala si Cory Aquino basta asawa lang siya ni Ninoy. Nag base sila sa Personalidad hindi sa background, history at credentials. Kaya sobrang sayang ang pagkakataon. Marcos at Cory - parehas lang silang may atraso sa bansa.

I truly wish for a documentary featuring the narratives of each key persons involved in the 1986 revolution. This would really help educate people of what actually transpired at that time. This interview with Sir Gringo Honasan is inspiring as much as it is enlightening.

I admire Sir Gringo, so much. Sayang lang hindi siya pinalad ngayon. But thank you so much to 10 million plus Filipino who voted for him. Lumaki akong sa mga kwento ng tatay ko about WW2, Marcos govt, EDSA and many more about Philippine politics (my father died at 75 when i am 14 yrs.old only, and now I am 29 yrs. old) That was long ago, but those stories told to me will never be forgotten. I believe my father stories are true. The reason that I believe and admire Sir Honasan.
Tbh In my 19 years of existence ngayon lang ako nagkainteres in politics and to explore history, which is nakakapanghinayang dahil Kung nasimulan ko ng maaga mas marami na siguro akong nalaman ngayon...but di pa naman huli. Thank you Ms. Toni for making this kind of documentary, maraming learnings, realizations and inspirations in life.. The poor situation that we had after the revolution is not because of Marcos its about how the leaders had done after Marcos they focus on anger that they lost their first priority which is the country itself. They always blame Marcos when he really gave lots of development and pride for the country its so biased that they critic him but never thank him for his sacrifices for the country.

I was following him since 1986 EDSA revolution until now. And I am also from Bicol. Meaning, I still don't believe in him. Firstly, first coup d' etat, he was the leader. Secondly, Trillanes another Bicolano leader of coup d' etat. They are fools! And there is another one...Sen. De Lima who is in jail until now. Tsk tsk tsk. Sad no!

My mom is one of them who marched those days. Pero ngaun Marcos na siya all the way. At alam niya na my mga sumama na hindi nila alam kung bakit andun sila. Madami silang college student noon na sumama. Ung mga iba naman sumama dahil deboto sila ng Isang relihiyon saatin at ung sinabi nilang masama si Marcos kaya napaniwala sila.

Thr RAM movement was against Marcos Sr. because of the blatant favoritism of the Marcos regime particularly to Ilocano officers such as Fabian Ver and other overstaying generals and their favorites/cro ies. Aside from this Enrile et al wanted to secure power for themselves and this was their real goal. Like any politician Gringo is now talking about unity with Bongbong but the truth is his group wanted to take power for themselves after Marcos Sr. Potential death (FEM was termibally ill at the time) They did not want Imelda and Ver to take power after Marcos Sr. They also did not want Bong Bong bevause he was a spoiled brat who did cocaine which they all knew back then.

“Call for unity”. This is not just a mere tagline. This is what our country needs. Parang naging competition nalang for each supporters itong election kaya naooverlook yung mga dapat na i-prioritize like what Honassan said na food, shelter, etc. listen to what the candidate has to say or has been sayingl. Success ang Edsa Revolution, kaso ang problema sa mga filipino back then, sigaw sila nang sigaw sa pangalan ni Cory Aquino. Ni hindi pa nga nila kilalang kilala si Cory Aquino basta asawa lang siya ni Ninoy. Nag base sila sa Personalidad hindi sa background, history at credentials. Kaya sobrang sayang ang pagkakataon. I was blinded by all the rumors about the Marcoses but now I see the truth. I was there during martial law but because the opposition was so active in all their lies, I was affected. Thank you Toni for this kind of interviews. You allow the Filipino people to open their eyes and their hearts to the truth. Also, it is high time for all these ‘nobelas, dramas’ to go. My father (PMA ‘45) was a true ‘man of honor ‘ as I remember which gained my utmost respect. However, this sometimes confused me, as I was growing up, because I believed such persons could not possibly exist in this practical world. There had to be something to it because I honestly cannot claim the same for myself today. Hearing Sen. Honasan ‘speak’ his mind in this interview confirms I was very wrong, and it was like hearing my father again. Bravo Sen. Honasan, much respect.
