How To Play Local Co-Op On Any Xbox Game - Simple Guide

- This guide will help you setup your Xbox so that you can play local co-op on any Xbox game.
Instructions
1. Have 2 controllers connected
2. Press the guide button (Xbox logo in the middle of the controller)
3. Navigate to the settings option (Mine is located under my profile on the right)
4. In the settings menu go to Devices and Connections
5. Go to accessories
6. Click on the 3 dot button below the Xbox controller
7. Click on Turn on copilot

@@PepperHomie figured out that I can’t play co-op in games via Xbox cloud gaming. The Microsoft support said that co-op only works if the game is downloaded and installed. Seems like cloud play doesn’t support co-op just yet.

How do we play 2 player games on same console? Like ufc or mortal combat??? Both controllers are connected to Xbox but only one is allowed to choose player
This allows you to share the same input. So you both control 1 character
I have the same question (at least I think). I can not play co op split screen on games that say they are capable. I've seen videos of people showing that the option appears in the top right for the second player to join in but mine isn't going me that option. 2 controllers, both assigned to separate accounts, both allow on the multiplayer setting, both logged in.... I'm confused, please help!

@@chrislester7471 both of those games are a little odd. For minecraft dungeons you need to choose offline mode when starting up then when in game open the minecraft friend menu to add them. I'm not sure of dirt 5 but give it a quick google
Is it just only two controllers or can it play up to four controllers? The reason I asked this particular question cuz it would be a nice work around four player co-op for gears tactics 😃❤️
Only 2 controllers can control 1 character. Can't do 4 controllers for 1 character unfortunately
I am just trying to race my son on a split screen on monster jam steel titans and I have the screen up it says press any button to begin and both controllers are only controlling one side. It supports local Co op. You should be able to just have 2 controllers connected and play

Both profiles you use for splitscreen need to have an actual xbox profile not a guest. That should work

You should just add the players when you create the match. For example when choosing your team, you should see in the middle an option for them to press A to join

@@sibusisonkala9109 that does not matter. If both Controllers are connected then you are fine. Each game handles local multiplayer differently. Most games required the 2nd player to press the A button or Start button at a certain screen to get in.

Can u play gta with two players
This method will let you play any single player game with 2 controllers. Both Controllers will control the Same character. Gta does not offer normal local Co-Op so if you want to play it with a friend, you will need to play online or with this method

This is great. I have a 9 and 6 year old. They love copiloting. My question, keeping in mind, For grandpa “me” I believe this box should be a lot simple lol. However, I prefer they have there own character in the same game. Should I look for games that will allow 2 players?
Are you asking if you should look into games that offer 2 player Co op instead of doing copilot?
I recommend minecraft and any of the lego games they are great for co-op especially for young children

Xbox sucks. So much trouble to play together. Just a lot of bs. Ps is just much better in every thing. The box is just to have for me. Even the switch is being played more. We do play coop with the ps4 ps5 and the xbox series s but overal the ps4 and ps5 are used more.

You can not. This let's 2 people plays as 1 character.
2 controller inputs = 1 controller input. You can use this to be as creative as you want.
