I think it's time for 2 videos, and I'd be excited for either one. 1) A draft only rebuild. You've done this in the past, but now with the new draft system, I think this would go over well. 2) I'd like to see you do a long term franchise series. Maybe an "Expansion" style story or a "Relocation" one. Again, with the new draft system a long series like this would be really cool to see you do.
Rockies farm system isn’t to bad they have really built it up over the years. A lot of great positional players coming up. Pitching is where they struggle to develop. Pitchers can pitch at Coors field strike out pitchers work best. Curve balls don’t work that well at Coors either. Sinker ballers work but again they can’t just pitch to contact all the time. Rockies are poorly ran they spend money but don’t spend it smart at all. Should have traded story and Jon Gray. I’m fine with them trading Nolan Arenado but if they do that should have moved him for a really good haul. The Rockies just moved him for basically a salary dump. Oh and the Rockies hardly ever make trades and hire from outside the organization there’s that to.
Went 81-81 the first year, 99-63 the second, won the division, and then promptly got swept by St. Louis. I've done a bunch of rebuilds, and honestly, it's pretty easy to rebuild a team with MLB23. My biggest constraint is bundget, but the Rockies don't have too much of a problem there. Key points: #1 - I believe the strategy is called min/maxing, but it's simple. Collect your worst three players and offer them for trade together for a better single prospect. You might trade away three D potential relievers with overalls less than 60, and you might only walk away with one guy that's C potential and still near 60 overall, but if you do this enough times, you'll eventually get to the better prospects. #2 - Use the cheese qualifying FA trick. Usually, the players aren't that great. Their contract is up, but you have negotiation rights with them. Offer them a contract, and then trade the player, and of course two other nobodies, for a good prospect. In doing so, you also get an extra draft pick for the player. There's a video for it elsewhere on TH-cam. #3 - When it comes to drafting and scouting, understand that it's much easier to scout pitchers and international players due to sheer numbers. Five starting pitchers per team, only one of each position player. US population is about 330million. The rest of the world is about 7billion, or something. Plus, you're cutting that US population into 3rds by east, west, and central. Now, whether or not MLB23 The Show actually accounts for this, I don't know. But, I do know that I have much better luck finding diamonds in the rough when it comes to international players and pitchers. If you've read that far and want more, hit the reply button.
@@jacobkelso3981 Yeah, man. Glad someone found it of use. I forgot I even typed all that up like that. I'm not sure what system you're playing on, but I believe MLB24 is free on XBox with Gamepass.
I did a franchise and drafted this generational Catcher who was 79 over in the first year. Sadly I forgot to set the GM contracts to off so after year 3 I got bounced😅🥲🥲 Is there anything I can do to get back to the Rockies or is that WRAP and I just gotta start over? If anyone knows anything please lemme know 🙌🏽
The only thing that I can think of is if you made separate save files throughout the franchise if not you can’t load previously back before you got tossed. :/
You should still update the prospect ratings. Tovar should not have a B rating and be rated that low, same as Romo and Veen should not be rated that low.
AL MVP - Ohtani & I think he wins CY Young plus resigns with the angels NL MVP - If Phillies turn it around Im going to go with Turner. If not Turner then possibly Acuna Jr
I was wondering why Daniel Bard wasn't pitching the 9th inning this opening day. I saw the WNC, and he just couldn't locate so I hope he gets better. When he's healthy and well he's a really good pitcher. Boston and Colorado
I've done one with the Cardinals and basically added all the players they traded away like Sandy, Arozarena , Garcia, Gallen, Carpenter should be very interesting too see what happens with that squad.
does the players stats during season improve their trade value , for example two 2b that are 70 ovr with b potential but one is hitting .300 vs the other hitting .182 is the .300 hitter gonna have more trade value ?
Hey guys quick question. I’m so used to madden and 2K rebuilds where team sizes are much smaller. But the minor leagues of AAA and AA are a tad overwhelming to me but I really wanna do some rebuilds in the show. Any advice for how prospects and stuff like that work? Are there any guides out there I can see cause usually I’ll bring up a young guy with potential but have to change stuff cause minor rosters aren’t filled?
You jus gotta sign some free agent and send them down to double A or triple A whichever team needs the players and add the players you wanna add to the 40 man , as for prospects you wanna call them up when they’re mid to high 70s
this is the team i'm playing with right now and it's so frustrating playing games with them. their pitching is sketchy is and they can't hold a lead. o, yeah, I'm playing those games. hahahahaha
M.V.P Predictions.. man.. If Mike Trout stays healthy i say he’s got it. IF not then Yordan 100% For the NL.. I’m gonna go with Matt Oldson as a dark horse to win 💯
Poor Rockies fans I feel awful for them. Your team signs Kris Bryant and you think he's gonna play a part in a World Series run yet your owner says they'll be a 500 team. At least you ain't the A's who basically is a minor league team for the Braves
Hey man, love your videos...been watching for years. Apologies if I missed it in the comments here, but what rosters are you using? Not sure when to expect anything from Ridin this year because I hear he's working with SDS now.
Scouting Video: th-cam.com/video/VtHGvWgBGTQ/w-d-xo.html
When are you starting a franchise and wat team are you gonna use?
Thank you so much this helped me a lot LOL. I always never was able to scout good players
Then I used your strat and then immediately got a 96 pot. Highest in the class, too
What rosters do you use
TIGERS NEXT PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU
YES!!!
Yes please anything to see a good tigers team 😶
This would be a good one
They the worst team in the league lil bro. Would make a fantastic rebuild though lol. They buns fasho might be no fixing what they got going on

I agree with 1

I started a full rockies franchise few days ago. Couldn’t believe some of the contracts.
I started one today , first season got some good potential underrated players to work with on the roster , plus the veterans see what happens
AL MVP Rafael Devers NL MVP Jazz Chisholm JR.
As a Cards fan I'm hoping PG and Nolan go off this year and get in the MVP convo.
Sorry for the stupid question, but just started to actually follow baseball lol...why is pitching hard to do in Colorado?? 😅
elevation, ball doesn't spin the same as in other cities. So pitchers can't rely on certain pitches because they aren't as effective
In the future the week of the draft it would be cool if you could tryout players and watch the tryout.
You should still update the prospect ratings. Tovar should not have a B rating and be rated that low, same as Romo and Veen should not be rated that low.
Lol
Ant, keep up the great content! enjoy your videos! Waiting for that Red Sox rebuild!
AL MVP - Ohtani & I think he wins CY Young plus resigns with the angels

The real Rockies need good swing an dmiss pitching and who are not scared to have their stats hammered.

Love your videos man keep up the grind

I actually think the Rockies Farm System is good but still lacking pitching
