    I try to check daily. Not really trying as I can’t keep my hand out of my head lol...but that has prevented a lot of tangling at the root. None have married so far. I know it’s still probably not great to touch constantly...🤦🏾‍♀️

    Very helpful, thanks! I just crossed 2 months and have had only one retwist at 5 weeks. Was planning on going back at my 4 month mark but the way Miss Rona is acting I might have to do a little touch up myself for all these loose hairs lol. Definitely need a wash so we’ll see how it goes 🤣🤣 Pray for me y’all

    • @Thisreadingcorner
      @Thisreadingcorner 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dichay H headwraps! I have a lot from The Wrap Life but I also buy Ankara fabric (the bright prints you see from west/Central Africans) on Etsy

    • @JenellJackson
      @JenellJackson 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You can use head wraps but if you don’t want to use head wraps you can do braid outs or curling your Locs with perm rods or even pipe cleaners. Those styles don’t need a fresh retwist. I have a few videos on my channel where I did no retwist styles! Hope this helps!☺️

    • @shennelmalcolm6039
      @shennelmalcolm6039 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did mine like every six 6 weeks until like 3 months ago I went to a hair dresser and she used a crotchet needle to automatically Loc it which I think is better.

    • @shennelmalcolm6039
      @shennelmalcolm6039 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      it’s good to let them grow it and not retwist it regularly so I’d say like every 4-6 weeks.

    For daily maintenance of short starter locks should you moisturize them daily with the aloe vera oil mix or should you just concentrate on the scalp staying oiled until the starters mature to the budding stage? (Comb coil twist in particular)

    • @broderickbrown6028
      @broderickbrown6028 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      shakur10011 Blessings 🙏🏾 Spray scalp every two days and a mist on locs . Oil twice a week if you have dry scalp and if not , once a week .. Less is more and a lot of patience will help you get adjusted to the journey. Don’t over concern yourself and enjoy every moment of your journey... Try to at least .. dilute shampoos and stay away from conditioner. You can condition with a hot oil treatment once a month with light oil in summer and slightly heavy in the winter. I’m 14 months in and had those same questions. It’s been working for me . Hope you find this useful. Stay safe from virus and be Blessed 🙏🏾
