On the night of the day Patricia left this world, I saw a performance of Figaro. It’s such a shame Patricia never got the chance to sing an entire role. She would have made a phenomenal Cherubino or Susanna. Edit: Apparently, Patricia did get to play entire roles, and they were bookended by star-crossed figures, just as Patricia was star-crossed herself: Juliet and Maria. I only wish that somebody knew that Somewhere or I Have a Love would be Patricia's swan song and posted them on their channel.

Watched this again just after watching Patricia singing this same aria recorded a couple of years later in 2016. Love both versions. You can see some changes over the two years, of course, but already at this young she owns the stage and the song and has the beautiful expressions and smile that says she knows what she is singing.....and absolutely loves singing!! 😊❤️🇨🇦

One difference between Patricia and the other girls is that unlike other girls, Patricia has had a good teacher, has always sung with good technique, always in her natural voice without any attempts to sound older, and has always interpreted what she sang. This shows in her more recent videos as well which shows how far she came. I think she should be an example for those other girls with beautiful voices.
I have to say that I agree with you. This young lass has been singing to the voice of a young girl and not pushing her voice too hard.I have seen the other young ladies on the talent shows and the works they chose were not right for their age. I am surprised that their voices have not been damaged by inappropriate songs. The talent shows should have an opera teacher to give oversight to the song chosen so no damage is done to ,maybe good voices.
eiclan I don't think talent shows care about anything, but ratings, and the judges in many countries don't even care about opera. I think it's too early to say if the voices of other girls have been damaged, but Jackie only sings pop today and seems to have lost her high notes. Patricia is doing fine, but she's always worked with a teacher (there is actually a video of her here singing Sull'aria with her teacher). As to others - time will tell.Ekaterina Shelehova has also sang arias as a child, but she didn't go to any talent shows and also sang in a child's voice, seems to be turning into a nice coloratura as well though not as far advanced as Patricia today.
