My brother died in September. Hearing this gives me a lot to think about how hard he had in life. How bell hooks said in death was when she felt closest to her father, because of how society drives men to deal with emotions alone. I only got to see my brothers pain and anguish, his despair to pull himself together and find a higher meaning. He struggled with how to receive and give love, but let me tell you he was always there for me. He always knew what someone needs to hear. Although he himself never felt loved. He gave and gave in hopes someone would give the same back. They never were able to see how he loved. How he showed his appreciation for other, till his death. I know his troubled heart now walks in the peaceful eternal garden, with all his desires met and loved truly, I miss my brother so much I wish I had more time with you, I wish I was smart enough to tell you, you are enough.
I know that the pain seems unbearable right now, but one day it will get better. I promise. I'm very sorry for your loss and may your brother rest in peace.
Thank you for finding the strength to put to words your darkness and sharing with us. So many benefit from your thoughts when we realize we are not isolated and all alone.
