It's good that I finally get some closure on this game after 10 years. But all in all good review all of the multiplayer was not taken from is combat six was taken from the PlayStation 3 exclusive free to play (pay to win) Ace Combat Infinity.
I was there when this was donated! It's cool to see that the game was way better than we thought it would be and I loved Rant Mode! It's a cool segment that, while not on every review, is fun to see when it IS included.
It's always fun to watch someone play or talk about Ace Combat for the first time, while I would say that Ace Combat 6 is a good game, it falls short of the PlayStation 2 trilogy (Ace Combat 4, 5 and Zero). Difficulty-wise, yes - the ace mode in this game is almost insane but at least you get the help of the checkpoint system because other games didn't have it. I highly suggest you to play Ace Combat Zero to you can witness the true epicness of the series.
I just want to let you know as a sidenote you got the short end of the stick with the Checkpoint Systems the previous games didn't have Checkpoint Systems. So if you died you had to start the entire mission over again.
Good review man enjoyed it. The return of rant mode caught me off guard and it was a well needed return. This game doesn't look that bad so thanks for the review I might check it out.

You really should play the game with the CF-44 Nosferatu using the Razgriz DLC skin. It makes the game a HELL of a lot easier, even in later difficulties. The ability to fire off a "Macross Missile Massacre" style attack targeting up to 12 separate targets with faster then normal, high explosive missiles as a SP weapon is VERY satisfying. The Razgriz DLC skin also gives the plane better defense and stability, which helps you live longer on all the difficulty modes except ACE. That kills you with practically one hit no matter what plane you have. The only real downside of the CFA-44 is it's STUPID high stall speed, ~350mph! Very annoying in high-G turns. You basically have to hold down the afterburners the entire mission. Other then that, it's my all-time favorite plane in the entire game! :)
You know, you should keep the beard. looks better on you. and wow, i didnt play a proper game with airplanes or jets in ages, all i had was Sky Drift, and thats was just an airplane mario kart if you will.

Oh, you silly boy Ace Combat 5 didn't even have a checkpoint system and it was hard, you died and went back to the beginning of the mission.
This should be good....
if you play other ace combat games
you will see that the others is better in terms of storyline and gameplay
