Diyg haha Well it does make sense as it seems the two worked together on some level with their songs- so then they put in the extra effort for live drums as well. As is My theory without a source as I am too lazy to actually look into it lol

The one thing I've noticed with this release is that the choruses are absolutely magical! Especially this and The Summer Jam. Spencer knows how to write some amazing vocal melodies around unconventional guitar riffs!

    • @oamLHeadBangerLmao
      @oamLHeadBangerLmao 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Spencer didn't write either this or Summer Jam, just so you're aware. The only song he wrote on this album is Parade of Ashes.

    • @lewisjames19

Arran Cook Yeah but the point of Clear is that each member all wrote their own song completely by themselves which makes each one totally different and unique. If Spencer wrote vocals on everyone's tracks then it would defeat the purpose of the EP.

    • @JazzyBassy
      @JazzyBassy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

It's done stacking seconds directly close to one another without voicing it past the octave, which adds tension. Try playing the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of a mode without skipping any of the intervals or voicing it past the octave. You may need to retune your guitar strings or use a piano to do this (Which he uses), it may be impossible without extra strings and re-tuning, but you could do it with a capo or open string on the fourth string and extending your fingers a whole lot for the first three.

After hearing every song on Clear and comparing it to the other Periphery stuff, especially Periphery II, or even to other projects of 1 or 2 members like Mothership, Haunted Shores, Red Seas Fire and so on, you can clearly hear every single influence in all the other songs! Absolutely astonishing work guys!

After listening to the whole thing a few times, this song is definitely my favourite. It seems to have the most in common with Overture of any of the other tracks, the song seems to flow really well. You can also really hear the melodic stuff from Haunted Shores in Mark's writing still. Overall, great song, I'm sure it will sound even better when the actual release comes out, sound quality will surely be better.

Walking through water as it dampens our feet
Watch as we call in self-defeat
The trees are calling to the man in the mask
They know his true identity, identity
    Come and stare
Come and stare at her love through these eyes
    From a mountain so high
Is it possible we've forsaken our Mother?
    Return to nowhere
And nature will know my name
This is what it takes to feel at home
In her soul that's beyond light is where I lay (I lay)
    Until the dusk of man
Yes, he squanders the life he leads
    Still the end will call
    Birth of anti-bionic seed
    Will he grow with fault?
    Grow with fault
    Come and stare
Come and stare at her love through these eyes
    From a mountain so high
Is it possible we've forsaken our Mother?
    Return to nowhere
And nature will know my name
This is what it takes to feel at home
In her soul that's beyond light is where I lay (I lay)
    Until the dusk of man!
    When it snows
    Do you feel the love?
    Wind, it blows
    Through our bodies
    Return to what we know
    When it snows
    Do you feel the love?
    Wind, it blows
    Through our bodies
    Return to what we know
    When it snows
    Do you feel the love?
    Wind, it blows
    Through our bodies
    Return to what we know
    When it snows
    Do you feel the love?
    Wind, it blows
    Through our bodies
    Return to what we know

Easily the best song on the EP for me, probably even my favorite Periphery song (Erised comes close). Mark is just SO GOOD.

At 3:20, Spencer's vocals seem so prominent... They really breakthrough the mix and grab your attention. This and Misha's tracks are my favorites.

This really is Superb! Not just this song but the Full EP. Personally find the variety of each song stands out much more than the last album. But for this one just takes it for me. The songwriting is unreal and Spencers vocals just suit this style so well. Cannot wait for the next Album!!!

I surely have to say that I don't really play favorites when it comes to who's track, but Pale Aura stood out the most, very beautiful track and savy ending. But a good overall experimental album by the guys. But Periphery III though. xD

Three best songs in a row on Clear
    1. Pale Aura - Mrak
    2. The Summer Jam - Jake
    3. The Parade of Ashes - Spencer
    IMO. :)))

Spot on dude! My big gripe with The Summer Jam is how the solo ends a bit abruptly while the background guitars continue playing.

I bought this EP physically 3 extra times to give to friends and family.
    Never done that before.
Except with protest the hero Volition which was x2
    This is my fave track.

Watch as we call in self-defeat
The trees are calling to the man in the mask
They know his true identity, identity
    Come and stare
Come and stare at her love through these eyes
    From a mountain so high
Is it possible we've forsaken our Mother?
    Return to nowhere
And nature will know my name
This is what it takes to feel at home
In her soul that's beyond light is where I lay (I lay)
    Until the dusk of man
Yes, he squanders the life he leads
    Still the end will call
    Birth of anti-bionic seed
    Will he grow with fault?
    Grow with fault
    Come and stare
Come and stare at her love through these eyes
    From a mountain so high
