We went to Silver Dollar City in Branson Mo this past summer and saw a booth where a woman had made brooms from broom corn, she was not too willing to help a body get started so I am very thankful to have found you!! how much broom corn do you need to make a broom? i am thinking of buying your broom kit and would like to get some of the broom corn to make a few. TIA
it depends on the type of broom you want to make and how large the diameter is of the broom stick. Cobweb brooms maybe 1/2 #, hearth and sweeper brooms more. A good starting point is a couple of pounds of broom corn. That should make at least a couple of projects.
Great video. One thing that I'm finding hard to see is whether, when you are braiding, you are taking every other one. I think you say that after the first one, but it goes so fast that I can't tell if that continues. This probably will be obvious once I start, but would just like to know. Thanks.

yes, it's every other one, that's why in order to make the braid continuous it has to be an ODD amount of broomcorn.
