Yeah... I've seem them all a bunch of times and I'm pretty sure Smith is picking up on a minor comedy thing in one of the side plots which is absolutely nothing to do with any of the murders...
I'd never really consciously thought about VR and advertising. I can definitely see that as being a big turn off for VR, especially considering the direction advertising is taking. I can totally see an issue with it. Or, there's the issue of implants being hijackable because they'd have to be able to connect to the internet to get ad updates and things, otherwise corporate backers wouldn't be interested in it as a platform. I was one of those, when I was a kid, who was absolutely ecstatic about VR, but slowly got disillusioned with it over time and maybe, subconsciously, it's the realization that companies are normalizing putting advertisements on things we already pay full price for, why wouldn't they take the chance to bring the Futurama-Internet to life.
You're becoming disillusioned with it because it's really not all that great just yet. The novelty makes it seem way cooler than it is but when you really consider it the experience isn't much different from just playing the game normally. The tech just isn't there yet. The only good use case I've found is for things like simulators where you are seated at all times.
I truly hope laws about human rights, murder, etc. prevail and if we do anything and anyone responsible will be held accountable. Otherwise we're fucked before we even know it.

I'm gonna come back to this tomorrow, but if you like thinking about simulations, I highly recommend the Lex's conversations with Joscha Bach.
A very classy fingle!
Our reality is our reality regardless of if it’s simulated or not. I see no reason to act differently
Catching up on these.
FYI when I can't find a good reason to keep living I don't really give a crap about wasting days. 😅
I’m an avid watcher of the Hatchat podcast, have a great day 🎩
Oh hello there random youtuber
Well it doesn't really matter if we live in a simulation or not since it doesn't change what we experience anyways.
The boys have on average 50 years left each to live.
37:30 we'll probably live to see the first megacorporation civil war in space

Zwart could be dutch. Pronounced a bit like shart but with a shorter a (and obviously with a z and w)
I skipped smiffs story. Sorry smiff.
I think you've lost the argument against religion when you make up a new one..
