Great video, just a heads up. OEM parts are to be used in insurance repairs BY LAW! In every state so don't let them tell you any different. Insurance will try but they know the law.

would adding a front guard rail protector (we call it a cattle guard) help for future front end bumps? we have one on our truck and it really makes us feel the engine is protected.

So… When I first saw Desert Storm I thought it should have been totaled… I still think that. There are just too many things that could go wrong. I still feel that way. Don’t close the case when it is finished. The insurance company did not do right by you. Saved themselves $$$ at your expense. I only wish you both well and safe travels.

Hello Tanya and Dave, I love your optimistic outlook, you have to be and having a similar experience regarding repair work it's important to be an advocate and be on top of this sort of say, because your presence and questions are important in obtaining up to date info regarding your rv. Tanya I'm so happy that your doing well, I want to share information regarding any symptoms of heart issues, I read and done some research regarding Cayenne Pepper, I know it may sound weird, but if you look up the health benefits of Cayenne Pepper you maybe surprised. I personally had to use it on a friend of mine, he was expressing to me that he didn't feel well and was pointing to the middle of his chest, I told him take some Cayenne Pepper with a cup of warm water and drink it, in a matter of minutes, yes I did say minutes his color returned and he was fine. What Cayenne Pepper does is open the arteries, if you have blood clots it clears it, I know you maybe thinking it's to good to be true, but please do your research and you will see for yourself. It can stop a heart attack in less than a minute. I appreciate you guys. I hope that your rv is up and running because I want to see more of your content !! Annette 😊
i have a truck and camper the truck hit 2 deer in the front end it had 4700 in repairs the bumper grill head lights bucket & fender paint and hood scrapes to it took weeks like 3 weeks to do it too! i had older camper i broke a spring on 1-80 in Lincoln, Nebraska i was over 1000 miles from home the guy at a shop gave me a map here by 5 pm will park you stay in your camper the night it was duel axle trailer safe to drive & haul this thing was hauling odd how i knew it was messing up! less then 200 fixed it!

You are fortunate. When my 2019 RV was smashed into by a semi-truck in late 2021, it took 4 months to repair (this was during the height of the “material shipment delays”). The collision shop requested OEM, but insurance only would approve crappy aftermarket stuff. So my 2 year old, mint condition RV gets smashed up, and I ended up with a crappier RV. Through no fault of my own (I was parked when smashed into).
I heard the mechanic. When I saw the accident. I thought that's what would be said. They are doing the right thing. Plus, the parts having to be ordered. It's a blessing. For you guys, lots of hugs. When it's done. It will be right. Love ya! ❤
I'm stuck in van repair hell myself, took it in Feb '23, the shop closed down before finishing repairs, now it's at a new shop and they tell me it might be a while before they can get to it... so I wait some more... hope y'all get it worked out sooner than later, I know how hard it is.
Check with Canada on their fire conditions. We planned a trip to BC near Banff. The fires there are bad. Some of BC is closed to visitors who want to spend the night.
It's a long haul when you have an RV accident. I'm hoping they can just fix it where as you don't have problems further down the road. Hope they can get it fixed quickly. Pray on it😊
I'm sorry you're still having to deal with the collision center but I think you're with a good company! They were very nice to talk everything over with you. Each and every department and process they have to go through. Nice to know they only want to use og on your RV. So hopefully it's done right and you will feel safer with a knowledgeable company like your dealing with. I will be praying for you. Safe travels my friends ❤️ 🙏
I guess the first month they were awaiting parts. A lady hit our car and we were told parts would come in 3 months and repairs in 6 because every repair shop is understaffed and overbooked with repairs. They ended up doing it in two weeks because we had a lawyer involved. You having a you tube channel probably helped move yours along honestly. Hang in there…. Re the Honolulu Grill!! Loved it as I’m from there and that’s regular local food for sure. I love that the owner speaks pidgin english which we speak at home. I miss my Hawaii since I’m on the mainland now. Aloha ❤
Sorry to hear you all are experiencing this. I know you do not want this to happen again, but honestly….sh!t happens… because you are on the road so much you may want to consider installing a “ranch hand” legend or summit grille guard front bumper or something similar. It saved me thousands when someone ran into me. I wish you all the best!!!! ❤
Unfortunately, a month isn't that long a time, these days. Repair facilities have largely been catching up since COVID, but the increase in RV travelers has meant longer down time for those whose rigs go into the shop. Worst case scenario was probably ours. Vandals struck while our Class C was in storage (if you live in TN, make sure you have extra-extra-secure storage. The drug problem is horrific here, leading to theft and vandalism on a huge scale). There was only one shop large enough to take on the repair in our area. The labor pool is also very small, leading to longer down time. Arvee was in the shop from August of 2022 to May 2023. I hope your rig is repaired in a shorter window of time
I sympathize. We were rear ended in Fresno. Ca. That was January 30. We got it back July 7. 5 Month one week. Got our car back took it for smog (tags expired in May) and a few codes came up so it went in again to garage that took another week). It was a night mare for sure. Please be cool it will only be done when they get all the parts. That was our problem. Praying for you hope it is done soon.

I'm not able to enjoy your channel as much as I would like but I appreciate your sharing the good and not so good about your life on the road. During the first few years of my 20 year marriage, my husband and I enjoyed traveling within and outside of the states until he became ill. Road trips within the states were our favorite. My husband does his best but international travels are not an option so short-term domestic stay-cations by train will be our only escape for the foreseeable future. Therefore, your videos are so enjoyable to me. No matter where you are I'm wishing you both the very best!
I’m surprised that you were able to get Desert Snow looked at and in the shop so quickly. I found that it can take weeks and sometime months to get your vehicle even looked at due to backlog of work. My EKKO, Carmella, has been with the dealership going on 11 months to get 30+ warranty items done. The latest being the Balmar and Electrical RECALL.

Really Have a Great time watching your adventures, Was stationed at Nellis AFB - so it is fun watching the changes of Vegas, that rain runoff problem is STILL going on?, scary times back in the day as well.
I'm unhappy with Mercedez. 'Shots' to corners are pretty common and I expected higher strengths. I don't know when you filmed and release videos - within weeks? months? - but early August in Canada is rewarding the worst drought I've seen in BC with a LOT of dangerous fires, and probably more to come. Eastern slopes to western mountain ranges are good - lotsa snow and rain this past winter. But cross over the ridges, and the eastern side received almost nuthin'. If I was going to look for green mountains, rivers and the Pacific, I'd hit Vancouver and head north and west thru Whistler, and hug coastlines to the Yukon.
I am so sorry that you guys are going through all this. I’ll say a prayer that you will get back on the road soon and giving us happy videos. I love watching you too you’re so cute together.
I can easily see a delay of a month or longer. How busy the shop, how many vehicles in line before yours, availability of parts (and knowing what parts are needed in the first place.) if a PCM (or ECM or whatever abbreviation for the main control module) is replaced, it needs to be programmed to that particular vehicle, which van include linking it to other control modules; which can be better than a dozen in newer vehicles. You don’t normally beed to partially disassemble the transmission for this, or not on GM vehicles. I wouldn’t be surprised Fords require it. They build good-looking vehicles but they are harder to work in than nearly any other brand. I have experience with both GM and Ford vehicles, snd technicians; the Ford techs were always griping about how much easier the GM techs had it.

Yay! Things look good for you guys!! Where in Canada are you going? Just a thought, check the air quality! There are lots of fires on our side that impacts that side. We have friends that ended up coming home early from their vacation bc the smoke was so bad! Also mental health should never be over looked! Thanks for sharing!
Been doing collision work for 30 years, no way thats done in a month much less two weeks. Sorry to say but I wouldn't look for it for awhile. We will tell you anything to get you off our backs until the next call. Body shop secretaries spend all day fielding "when is my car going to be ready" calls. I don't know maybe they have a hundred people working there, maybe they are open 24hrs then it might get done in that time frame. Just giving y'all my opinion, hopefully I'm wrong. I say this mainly because of the frame damage and all the structure that will have to be cut out and new parts welded back on,then it has to go to paint to get trimmed out and then back to body to put the hood fender and door then back to paint then back to body for final assembly.

The collision shop requested OEM, but insurance only would approve crappy aftermarket stuff. So my 2 year old, mint condition RV gets smashed up, and I ended up with a crappier RV. Through no fault of my own (I was parked when smashed into).
I heard the mechanic. When I saw the accident. I thought that's what would be said. They are doing the right thing. Plus, the parts having to be ordered. It's a blessing. For you guys, lots of hugs. When it's done. It will be right. Love ya! ❤

Check with Canada on their fire conditions. We planned a trip to BC near Banff. The fires there are bad. Some of BC is closed to visitors who want to spend the night.

It's a long haul when you have an RV accident. I'm hoping they can just fix it where as you don't have problems further down the road. Hope they can get it fixed quickly. Pray on it😊
I'm sorry you're still having to deal with the collision center but I think you're with a good company! They were very nice to talk everything over with you. Each and every department and process they have to go through. Nice to know they only want to use og on your RV. I guess the first month they were awaiting parts. A lady hit our car and we were told parts would come in 3 months and repairs in 6 because every repair shop is understaffed and overbooked with repairs. They ended up doing it in two weeks because we had a lawyer involved. You having a you tube channel probably helped move yours along honestly.

Re the Honolulu Grill!! Loved it as I’m from there and that’s regular local food for sure. I love that the owner speaks pidgin english which we speak at home. I miss my Hawaii since I’m on the mainland now. Aloha ❤

Sorry to hear you all are experiencing this. I know you do not want this to happen again, but honestly….sh!t happens… because you are on the road so much you may want to consider installing a “ranch hand” legend or summit grille guard front bumper or something similar. It saved me thousands when someone ran into me.

Unfortunately, a month isn't that long a time, these days. Repair facilities have largely been catching up since COVID, but the increase in RV travelers has meant longer down time for those whose rigs go into the shop.
Worst case scenario was probably ours. Vandals struck while our Class C was in storage (if you live in TN, make sure you have extra-extra-secure storage. The drug problem is horrific here, leading to theft and vandalism on a huge scale). There was only one shop large enough to take on the repair in our area. The labor pool is also very small, leading to longer down time.
Arvee was in the shop from August of 2022 to May 2023.
I hope your rig is repaired in a shorter window of time

I sympathize. We were rear ended in Fresno. Ca. That was January 30. We got it back July 7. 5 Month one week. Got our car back took it for smog (tags expired in May) and a few codes came up so it went in again to garage that took another week). It was a night mare for sure. Please be cool it will only be done when they get all the parts. That was our problem. Praying for you hope it is done soon.

I'm not able to enjoy your channel as much as I would like but I appreciate your sharing the good and not so good about your life on the road. During the first few years of my 20 year marriage, my husband and I enjoyed traveling within and outside of the states until he became ill. Road trips within the states were our favorite. My husband does his best but international travels are not an option so short-term domestic stay-cations by train will be our only escape for the foreseeable future. Therefore, your videos are so enjoyable to me. No matter where you are I'm wishing you both the very best!

I can only imagine how hard it is to be away from your home for so long.
I’m surprised that you were able to get Desert Snow looked at and in the shop so quickly. I found that it can take weeks and sometime months to get your vehicle even looked at due to backlog of work. My EKKO, Carmella, has been with the dealership going on 11 months to get 30+ warranty items done. The latest being the Balmar and Electrical RECALL.

I'm unhappy with Mercedez. 'Shots' to corners are pretty common and I expected higher strengths. I don't know when you filmed and release videos - within weeks? months? - but early August in Canada is rewarding the worst drought I've seen in BC with a LOT of dangerous fires, and probably more to come. Eastern slopes to western mountain ranges are good - lotsa snow and rain this past winter. But cross over the ridges, and the eastern side received almost nuthin'. If I was going to look for green mountains, rivers and the Pacific, I'd hit Vancouver and head north and west thru Whistler, and hug coastlines to the Yukon.

I can easily see a delay of a month or longer. How busy the shop, how many vehicles in line before yours, availability of parts (and knowing what parts are needed in the first place.) if a PCM (or ECM or whatever abbreviation for the main control module) is replaced, it needs to be programmed to that particular vehicle, which van include linking it to other control modules; which can be better than a dozen in newer vehicles. You don’t normally beed to partially disassemble the transmission for this, or not on GM vehicles. I wouldn’t be surprised Fords require it. They build good-looking vehicles but they are harder to work in than nearly any other brand. I have experience with both GM and Ford vehicles, snd technicians; the Ford techs were always griping about how much easier the GM techs had it.
Wow that looks like a lot of damage for being in a state park. Isn't the speed limit between 10-15 miles an hour. Wow just seems to be a lot.

We have friends that ended up coming home early from their vacation bc the smoke was so bad! Also mental health should never be over looked! Thanks for sharing!

A lot of it is waiting for parts to come in.
Been doing collision work for 30 years, no way thats done in a month much less two weeks. Sorry to say but I wouldn't look for it for awhile. We will tell you anything to get you off our backs until the next call. Body shop secretaries spend all day fielding "when is my car going to be ready" calls. I don't know maybe they have a hundred people working there, maybe they are open 24hrs then it might get done in that time frame. Just giving y'all my opinion, hopefully I'm wrong. I say this mainly because of the frame damage and all the structure that will have to be cut out and new parts welded back on,then it has to go to paint to get trimmed out and then back to body to put the hood fender and door then back to paint then back to body for final assembly.
