I like how you explain the cost of RVing as many people don't put the cost in effect when they are thinking of buying an RV. I really think many just see traveling and a place to sleep. Nothing today is cheap. Think of paying $2,500.00 just for rent then you have electric, water, food and gas for your vehicle. Maybe it is cheaper just to RV . There are pros and cons to whatever you choose. This was an expensive trip this time. I know when you have dessert snow you do a lot of boondocking and I know its much cheaper that way. No matter what I enjoy each and every video you do. Always educational! ❤ U guys safe travels!!
Bev! You get it. Thank you watching and joining us on our adventures. You’re absolutely right there are pros and cons to whatever you choose. Bottom line choose to be happy. 🙏🥰🥰
Yeah, you're right. I remember when the stress was just the mortgage payment. Now when I open the water bill, electric bill, cell phone bill, I gasp. Life is really expensive!
I'm doing an RV TT trip between Christmas and New Years. I'm starting in the Piedmont of NC and heading south to Alabama to visit my sister. Then heading to Pensacola and over toward New Orleans before heading back north from Natchez to Tupelo along the Natchez Trace Parkway. From there, I'll head east to Huntsville to visit friends and then to the Nantahala RV Resort near Bryson City (back in the NC mountains). I'll stay there a few nights before heading back home. I should be avoiding really bad weather but could see some snow in the mountains around Bryson City. I'll park the RV after that and won't hit the road until Spring (I still work fulltime). I envy your trips and loving the snow. My camper is more a three seasons camper, so it limits me a little. I'll live vicariously through your weekly updates. Love you all!
Love all your adventures! And...if I was following behind..there isn't a bar or a restaurant or a tour or experience I would have missed...would have been right there smiling! You two are so happy and make everyone watching happy too!💯👍👍👍👍👍
Do you think you'll ever try having a truck towing a trailer/Travel trailer as your home to have a truck for transportation when trailer is parked at a campground?
Thoroughly enjoyed this, summary or catch-up video! Loved how you broke down the costs for the trip. I always enjoy "traveling" with the two of you! Glad to see Snow back on the road! Looking forward to the next adventure with my traveling buddies! Tracey from San Diego 🤗🤗
Thanks for the videos of this trip! We live in Seattle and have family in California and Nevada, so we're always looking for new places to visit along the north-south routes. We'll be doing at least one winter trip down to California, in our brand new Ekko! (Just took delivery a few days ago, upgrading from a Travato, which we loved as well.) This first winter trip will be a shakedown trip, and mostly to see family, so we don't expect to do a whole lot of camping/sightseeing, but we do anticipate boondocking a few places along the Oregon and northern California coast along the way. Keep up the great work! Maybe we'll see you on the road sometime!
Congrats on your EKKO! Welcome to the EKKO-nation! Glad you enjoyed the episode! Have you named your RV yet? Maybe you will see this EKKO in the wild! If you do make sure to say hello! This is cra cra, I'm in Michigan and hate cold weather and snow, but can't wait to see your snow adventures. They're always so cozy, with the lights and warm coffee. A Michigander who hates snow actually can't wait to see what you have on store for winter. Who'd have thunk it? 🤷🏽

I am a solo female senior fulltime rv dweller. My only family is in WNY so I am headed back to Niagara Falls for knee replacement. Brrrr. I am boondocking in Fl. for next few weeks. Did Alaska this year. Cost over $11000.
Thank you for sharing! Wow! That Alaska trip was costly. How long did you’d stay in Alaska? Prayers to you on your surgery and a speedy recovery! Thanks for watching and joining us on this journeyZ 🙏🥰
Thanks for sharing your costs on this trip. I think its very helpful for everyone. I always enjoy your RVing vlogs! I was amazed that you stayed at Trailer Lane RV park. I stayed there near the start of my big trip this past summer. I honestly would NOT recommend it to anyone. Like you I just stayed 1 night, but I didn't feel very safe there. It seemed the park has been converted to homeless housing using park model units. Its a small park and there were only 3 sites left open for traveling/camping RVers. There was one young man who shuffled around the small loop nonstop for hours and seemed to be on some heavy drugs, or else had a severe brain injury (tragic). Another young man walked around the loop actually staggering drunk waving a wine bottle. There never was anyone in the office contrary to their posted hours. No one ever answered their business phone and no calls were ever returned. I had reserved on line so I just parked at my site and left early the next morning. Never did see anyone running the park.
That's strange. It felt pretty normal to use. There was a big house on the lot with great outdoor seating and even a converted RV that was turned into a chicken coop. They had laundry and we met a few of the neighbors camping and it was fine to us.
I agree core of engineer campsites are the best . Price is great for what you get. Lastly lone pine is my fav. Alabama hills in the winter / fall is something everyone who travels through the area must see. Bring climbing gear ❤
I don’t recommend it in the winter but summer time or fall at the latest go back east and way back east to Niagara Falls it’s a beautiful place to see. I use to live 50 plus miles from there. Fall time you can see all the leaves changing. Another place I’d recommend is the Flight 93 Memorial in Pennsylvania great to see
I've been thinking about trying a cruise because of the cost of fuel, hotels, restaurants, entertainment, etc. I live on the west coast and gas is still EXPENSIVE. You've really got to be committed to the RV lifestyle with the expense of the RV, maintenance, tires, repairs, fuel, and camping fees. Also, the added stress of always having to plan for the overnight with added security. You two are priceless!
Love you guys! We have a 2023 Thor Outlaw class A ! We travel with 2 cockatoos and a German shepherd and a golden retriever! We live in western NY State! I don’t watch much on TH-cam, but you captured my heart! Love your videos
If I were RV'ing in the winter months I'd head for either Texas or New Mexico........maybe both! The scenery in those two states is simply breathtakingly beautiful!! Stay safe you two lovebirds and much love from a very chilly NY 🥰💖
New here. Do you guys map out your route in advance so you know exactly where you’re going to and where you will stay that night? Or is it more spontaneous?
Thanks, great question! The truth is actually a little bit of both. We tend to plan out in advance the major stops but sometimes leave open certain areas to allow for more spontaneity along the way!

This is off the subject, but I need advice from you and your followers. My husband & I are selling our home and becoming full-time RVer's. We have quite a few fur babies. 5 cats and 2 dogs. Is it feasible to have that many animals with us? We love each and everyone dearly. But I worry that it is going to be to many to take with us. I would appreciate any advice. BTW, we love all of your videos. They are so informative. Travel safe. Thank you.
We love our fur babies and for us they were a big part of the type of RV we ended up with. We know folks that have 3 Great Dane’s and they make it work just fine. Perhaps other in here that may have a similiar situation could shed a bit more light for you! Big hugs to your fur babies from us! 😻🦮

We did mention we were not in our Camper Van where we would have done more boondocking, therefore driving the price of the trip down. but when you're in an RV that doesn't have that capabilities we're showing what it's like. It was definitely an expensive trip. I still couldn't believe we drove past a few gas stations that wer trying to charge over $8/gallon for fuel in California. WOW!

Still cheaper than airfare/hotel and car rental for a week anywhere in the U.S.
