  • In this video we will look at why and how winds move around the planet. We will learn about the different cells that compose the global circulation pattern. Moreover, we will explain how the Coriolis effect deviates air masses travelling towards the Equator or the Poles to generate the Trade winds and the Prevailing Westerlies.

I don't understand how teachers can't explain this shit over the course of a few weeks but you watch one 6 minute long video and it just makes sense

I get so annoyed that I'm forced to pay thousands of dollars for a college education for teachers to regurgitate terrible textbook explanations when a 6-minute TH-cam video teaches me the concept way better for free. Thank you for posting this excellent video!

Wow, this video is amazing, explanations are clear and simple to understand. I couldn't understand my teacher's way of explaining it, so this video is a lifesaver for the project I have to do on this. Thank you!

I am a teacher and I do explain this. Following the concepts of New School, subjects like this one can be started with this video, while later inquiring the learners about it, or creating a debate, or a brainstorm, etc.

Explains how Fukushima radiation shows up in California wines and Sahara dust makes Florida sunsets prettier. I could smell the Canadian smoke that smogged my sky in the mid Atlantic . We must become better stewards of our air and waters.

quick question: doesn't air come from all sides then, not just 2 sides because the surface of earth is 2D? it's like closing in on all sides. And the water bucket example is 3D but the same applies: it's all directions? everything else is flawless

This is true when the rising air is in one spot, such as a tropical cyclone.

If you sucked the coldest water from under the ocean and Shot it up into the Sky like a gaizer.. could you Alter the temperature enough tk shift the weather pattern…..
Or Put a huge blow dryer in the Coldest parts of russia ans china facing The desert.. Like fans that generate Wind to disrupt the circulation of the heat redistributing /displacing the cold air..
Couldnt you operate this by placing Wind mills in heavily Winded areas .. Transforming Wind into potential rain…. By shifting the Circulation to ain at the heat….
And if you did that… Could that push the hot air to disrupt the southern Artic .. have we tried this on a smaller scale? To see possibility ….
Its just an idea. If its Ridiculous.. its cuz i dont know anything about this kind of stuff.. but when i was younger a pool jet changed the current.. so i thought a Air jet might be able to alter heat waves. 🌊
Specifically if we knew one was coming.. having said Gaizer might Be useful in disrupting it.
If we worked together to solve others problems. To me.. God would play along . Because its us Working together to clean up ans or help someone else’s area..
