I'm pretty sure that's not accurate since in Drewski's video he says how all but a couple were provided by Evike, and Evike does not sell real firearms. The majority of the rifles used were airsoft guns. In fact, in the scene where one of the operators in the perimeter team gets snatched, the stock on the rifle of the guy who goes to investigate is clearly a PTS stock, for example.
The two guys in the middle aren't useless and they went around to the back of the building to stay out of the fight, scps sometimes cut communications and having someone as the designated survivor is part of their training. Along with that one person is carrying amnestics and one is carrying what's called a "reality anchor" (big heavy equipment that needs a massive battery) incase shit goes sideways and they encounter a reality bender, or get stuck somewhere with non-euclidian geometry (moving rooms, and/or rooms that are bigger on the inside then they are on the outside)

SCP personnel die often to stop/prevent XK-class world ending scenario and retrieve info on such scenarios.

@@zethicalyt2406 I'm inclined to think it was memetic. He shot himself as a consequence of seeing whatever it was through the camera, whereas just the viewing of a cognitohazard by itself is dangerous. A cognitohazard doesn't need to make you shoot yourself, you're just as likely to drop dead just from looking at it. The black square in SCP: Dollhouse is an example of a potent cognitohazard. (The one that made one of the MTF glitch out and repeat numbers.) Memetic agents influence one's thoughts and behaviors, and sometimes even memories, while cognitohazards are explicitly harmful to even just perceive. The fact that he didn't seem to sustain any injuries (except the shaking) until he shot himself makes me think it was a memetic influence, albeit a powerful one. Unless the self-termination was a conscious decision to avoid the effect of whatever cognitohazard he might've been exposed to. Of course, this all depends on the interpretation of the filmmakers.

i love that there uniforms are so varied, it adds to scp secrecy, anyone who sees them wouldnt be able to identify which group it is also, they cant draw it, because the symbols may be memetic, meaning just drawing them has anomalous effects
Their SOP's when clearing buildings might be different as SCP's that they encounter do not use Gun's. You have to know that SCP's are super natural "Lovecraft" monster's
fun fact, none of these guys are actors, they had 23kish budget, and 5 days that just makes this film even more insane and amazing. imagine if it was funded by a big studio
I explained the lack of caution tactics as them just being confident in handling most things as anything they cant handle on a snap is most likely beyond them anyways. Also they tend to be careful about any symbols or patterns because memetic hazards are fairly common and can cause horrid changes if the right patterns are seen or put together or even heard.
The MTF sometimes are also first/ a light response team. They sometimes can't do a thorough sweep so they have to do a quick overview. Get out and let the poor bastards do the thorough cleaning.
If that's what they do then how come they wasted so much time. They stood around way too much, if their there to do a quick sweep and investigation then they should gone in there clear and got our with whatever they've found and let the next team finish clean up duty
Before some inevitably calls their tactics garbage for skipping room, a rescript happened so they had to work with that, and some of the rooms were too small for all the gear. There's a comment further up which goes into more detail
"I wanna make sure I'm not the only one seeing this" *they get a third guy, then a 4th, then q 5th, etc. until the last one shows up* Last Guy: "want me to get the guy we 10-55'd and see if he sees something?"
I think what really sells this is the quality of the actors and the sound production. Many of them have silky, rumbling voices like voice actors. They have various accents to make it easy to distinguish who is speaking, and they all speak very naturally. Loved this short film and loved this reaction!
There's one little detail... Most of actors have covered faces so they can add voice in post-production. That's really intelligent to do, because of decreasing margin of error like blunders etc. Plus, they don't have to repeat scenes as much as they had to without it. Also, actors can focus more on mimics and of course, you can save some of the budget and spend it elsewhere. Otherwise i love this short film and other ones from Evan's Royalty channel: th-cam.com/users/EvanRoyaltyvideos
Hey luke, if you're interested in the SCP genre, I advise you check out the MTF units, they are basically the military, investigation and special forces of the foundation! +oh yeah, and the 2 scp films you watch depict them.

10:50 it kind of makes sense. Militaries have your standard set gear, uniformity and structured. Civilians don’t need that, necessarily, so the variety of available weapons make sense.
The Foundation is very standardized in its divisions, and provides all weapons and gear to their MTFs, respective to their specialization and the operation at hand
39:33 it's just something about how it's invisible and you just hear the *thump* of it falling off the ceiling and hitting the floor. Something about that whole sequence is just funny to me
As a little kid, I learned from Alice in Wonderland that if an item gives you instructions (i.e. "eat me" or "drink me" or in this case, "play me") it's probably a good idea to NOT follow those instructions until you have more information.
Yeah, I'm surprised command allowed them to watch it. The rule of scp foundation is to bag it and bring it back to be checked by anti memetic unit to determine if it has memetic cognito hazard.
@@kos2919 to be fair, their MTF units specific job is to investigate things on site, and GTFO if there's anything they can't deal with and let the heavier hitters fuck shit up
29:55 This operation is being overseen by level 3 and possibly level 4 researchers. She's probably consulting with them, and their priority isn't the safety of the MTF, it's learning as much as they can about this place and what's been going on. If you remember during the briefing, they said these guys are being sent in to do recon and pacify the compound so that quarantine and containment teams can come in and contain any anomalies so the researchers can come in and start figuring out the specifics. So they need to gather as much information as they can, neutralize all hostiles, and otherwise preserve the site for the researchers. MTFs are useful and valuable, but ultimately expendable assets. They're not equipped like expendable troops because they need the best gear to be effective against SCPs, expendable or not, and because the Foundation has virtually, and in some cases literally unlimited resources with which to outfit its personnel. But their safety, while certainly a goal, is not a top priority. The Foundation wouldn't just send them to certain death in a whim, but if that whole team gets wiped clearing this building, it's probably not the worst thing to happen in the Foundation this week.

pretty sure they arent putting more rounds into the entity because the bodies were probably sent to scp scientists to examine and stuff, so they are only putting 2 kill shots into it so its not completely messed up
Glad to see you hooked on SCP, it´s a rabbithole so deep you´ll never escape. When you get tired of reading, there are a ton of good youtubers that summarize and explain different SCPs too.
I think the main reason they aren't using dynamic room clearing (the canon reason at least) is because they know the exact layout of the building and they are using a completely custom route built just for this one building.
And because it's a movie. When it comes to getting a scene across, no matter if written or filmed, you want the viewer/reader to focus on certain things. While it may be a nice touch for people that have military experience, it could've taken focus away from the things they wanted viewers to focus on. It's the exact same case for video games. That's why Designers work hard on player guiding, to make the player focus on certain things and not give them too many things to focus on at once. And then there are situations where realism is cut short in order to make it more dramatic or badass.

(The one that made one of the MTF glitch out and repeat numbers.)
Memetic agents influence one's thoughts and behaviors, and sometimes even memories, while cognitohazards are explicitly harmful to even just perceive.
Fun fact. They had a US Armed Forces weapons person (I don’t remember who it was) on set, to direct each shot that involved any militaristic aspects.
Before some inevitably calls their tactics garbage for skipping room, a rescript happened so they had to work with that, and some of the rooms were too small for all the gear. There's a comment further up which goes into more detail
But still it didn't help that their very task was to investigate, secure and also let the next team take care of things

I think what really sells this is the quality of the actors and the sound production. Many of them have silky, rumbling voices like voice actors. They have various accents to make it easy to distinguish who is speaking, and they all speak very naturally. Loved this short film and loved this reaction!
the level of calm when things begin to go south also makes it feel more real to. the more calm the more trained and level headed the unit.

TheVolgun, SCP Illustrated, and Eastside Show SCP/RPC are great options in looking into SCP's.
P.S, you can be a voice narrator for their channels.
