I haven't watched one of your vids in a while, but I was looking for a review of this product and I found your review. I had forgotten how clearly and concisely you review things while still hitting all the main points. Good job, mate.
As an ophthalmologist and carpenter I find your video very accurate and important. This face shields can minimize the risk of ocular trauma. However If you guys want even more protection I recomend the use of safety googles with a strap that goes behind the head to improve the protection from below. It´s very common to find sparks that open their way to the eyes from below. This kind of googles can replace the normal safety glasses underneath the face shield.
what you said regarding the smallest particles is true. i had a horrific work accident years ago because i grinded cast metal with just a usual pair of goggles. therefore im getting one of these and hot glue all the slits on the front and hot glue some cloth on the top and the sides. that way youre perfectly safe from swarfs in your eye
Wow, just received mine and maker is using clear (not colored) film covering. Other than the foggy shield look you could not tell there was protective film, no wrinkles either.
great review. i don't know where the mount points of the headband fall in relation to your ears, but if there's enough clearance, could you remove/cut-away that area of the mask to allow for your hearing protection to fit?
ordered one of these on amazon for around 35 dollars, then went to youtube to see some reviews and realized you made a video of it, so I was content on my purchase. I plan on using this for my oxyfuel-acetylene torch cutting with the additional 3.0 Shade ~$20 I bought and of course weedeating, which is the real reason I bought it. anyway, great vid...thanks
I have it and don't like it for the same reason, can't use ear muffs. I do use it for everything else , fits great . Been watching you for a long time and lost as to your full time occupation. You must be in either construction- auto tech or a physician. Am I even close :)
+Steve Rob Thanks! Those are some good guesses......a doctor huh? My handwriting isnt that bad is it?! ;) I've worked in the automotive & construction trades for a LONG time....and they are definitely the most rewarding.....nothing replaces the satisfaction of actually "getting things done" & I am glad that my experience enables me to show real-life scenarios of the various tools that we choose to review. Thanks for watching & supporting us Steve! :)
Eric if I made vids showing the work I do - ha I'd be thrown in the nut house Ha. Did you get a chance to figure out the question I can in your email ?
Good point about the safety glasses and the shield as two layers of protection. I wear prescription glasses. When I weed wack I wear a face shield. If I took the glasses off to put safety glasses on not I can see well. They make safety glasses that go over glasses but I look so ridiculous wearing them. lol. A face shield works great for those of us with glasses. I don't have contacts because they dry out really fast.
+Love2boat92 I use a face shield when weedeating also! (Not this type though....I use a Stihl Woodcutter Helmet system....with earmuffs!) Nothing worse than having something get in your eyes ..... and not just rocks.....I have 3 dogs -- use your imagination! ;) haha
+Love2boat92 Uvex and Dewalt makes some really good fitting goggles that fit over prescription glasses that are very comfortable I wear prescription glasses and that's what I wear but I am going to buy me a good face shield also
Tools in Action done a review on both of those I had the Dewalt goggles and then they done A review of the Uvex and I bought a pair of them I like the Uvex just a little better over the Dewalt's
Real Tool Reviews Ha-ha. I bet you and I aren't the only ones who use face shields to weed wack. Ha. I have a faceshield from harbor freight. It works good and for the price i cant complain. Ear muffs arent comfortable for me so i use ear plugs. I like that the face shield also protects my teeth nose etc from flying debris.
I enjoy your channel and the frequency of your videos. I was wondering if Milwaukee has hooked you up with there second generation of the fuel system yet or if your going to be doing reviews on the tools?
+Kevin Konkel Thanks! And yes....but so far the only one that has been released is the new Rapidstop grinder (review coming up soon...) & I believe that the new drills are shipping this month. But as far as the whole new lineup of Gen2 FUEL tools --- full reviews will be coming up on all of them as they are released. Thanks for watching!
+Maic Soares It is a shame that they cant work together.....but I assume that if it did not wrap that far around your face, then the chances of getting things in your eyes would go way up. I dont mind the smaller "push in" hearing protection, but highly prefer the earmuff style.
@@RealToolReviews I saw a news report and in the background a lot of doctors were wearing this face shield. I would have never known it was originally developed for shop work. I thought it was strictly medical when I first saw it. This face shield was big-time repurposed for hospitals and COVID-19 care. In fact, I'm almost sure more doctors and nurses use this face shield than grease monkeys.

You and your reviews keeps my Amazon wishlist full. I have some nice safety goggles but now I want one of theses face shields
+Charlie Thompson Haha nice :) Glad to help!
Great piece of safety equipment. There's no price on vision.

Seems very useful for woodworking or when handling fiber glass
This would be perfect for Covid19
looking at it for the same reason
Bruce Ha Yoo same
I actually bought for it and is great, then i saw some doctors and nurses using it too.
Bruce Ha haha!

I need one of these thanks for highlighting its benefits.

+jessejames! Awesome! Glad to know I helped calm your nerves :) Let me know how you like the welding shade if you think about it. Thanks!
+Real Tool Reviews so I used it last wednesday and the 3.0 shade is wonderful. 10/10, wish I had it before

That don't make sense Ha , spellchecker changed I can't to I can- man I hate technology :)
Steve Rob Email? Lemme go have a look, been having issues with it lately, it may have ended up in the spam...

Nice video.
Would there be room for using a semi-facial respirator like the ones from 3M? Thanks
thanks a lot for the presentation, I already bought
Any tips on keeping your glasses from fogging up when wearing respiratory protection?
Excellent Review. Thank you.
Where can I get an upgraded lens as the one it comes with is kind of cheap?
Very nice shield and great job on the review. Thank you.
+DC Rickerson Thanks DC!
I tried cleaning my lens with brake cleaner, big mistake! it melted the lens haha. I bought a new lens now though, glad I bought this face shield
A really, really good review. - I learnt a lot and will order one.
Many thanks !

Could it be cleaned with alcohol?
I got a snap- on one ,for $200
and I do have the same problem with the ear protection as well they don't go together, I have to use the too.

I agree with you..
What do you use to clean your face shield? I have a hard time keeping mine clean.
Anyone know of earmuff hearing protectors that fit well with these? My 3M Optime 105 behind the ear ones don't fit well with it.
Can you do a video on you installing it on a hard hat
Awesome shield.
+BADD400 CB700 drums I agree!
Is there one like this thats tinted?
no info about: 1) longterm using, 2) breath well or not well
What company of hearing muffs were those?
Looks good aside from not allowing the user to wear earmuffs
good but u dont explain the other parts like how to adjustmen 🤔
What better to simulate a grinder wheel exploding than birdshot?
+efb Haha.....not really trying to destroy my face shield....I wouldnt suggest going hunting with it ;)
Does it come with extra plastic shields? And how much does it cost?
+Jose Castillo It comes with one shield (as shown) & was about $30 on Amazon.
Review on the grinder anytime soon ? :)
If I were a professional Athlete more specifically a professional basketball player I would wear that to protect my face and eyes :)
Nice job
+George S Thanks a lot George!
This face shield destroys COVID-19.
Especially with a cordless grinder

will this be overkill for covid protection? Will look awkward in public but can automatically maintain 6 feet distance from everybody lol
