How do you remove weight from the back foot to allow the back wheels to bump off or roll over the coping? Especially since you're doing a manual, and when you're doing a manual you have a lot of weight on your back foot.
Good question, you slightly bend down and as you slowly lift up into your manual to first clear the front wheels over the crack and then hop off your back foot as you back wheels hit the crack to allow the board to kick up into your feet and over the crack. Remember-You do this entire motion while lifting up slowly 💙🛹💙
It should be said that you should be aware of how much/how little vert there is to the transition when adjusting your speed for the roll in. If there's more vert, it's much easier to come in on an angle with speed. Otherwise, you're off the cliff and straight to the flatbottom.
You always roll in parallel to the coping on vert so you land higher in the transition with your knees bent for the pump out. As long as you’re rolling parallel the speed that you roll in doesn’t matter.💙🛹💙

I remember first watching pros on videos in the 80's like Del Mar footage and it looked like they would all backside grind into the bowl, is that a thing or were they all just bumping in?
You can do that as well, people typically do that backside into vert, it’s more advanced so you may want to start with how I teach it as just a roll in first. 💙🛹💙
Yes you have to life your front wheels up and hold them until your back wheels hit the crack and then hop slightly to allow your back wheels to bump over the crack. This will make your board kick up into your feet so you have to learn the correct timing of when to hop off of your 2 back wheels. It’s a little tricky. Watch how I do it in the beginning of the video and pay attention to how I hold the front wheels until the back wheels hit the crack and then hop. 💙🛹💙
Have been trying to learn to fly out of coping into manual and then hold manual and roll in back in over the coping in manual. I'm struggling with the last part the rolling back in over the coping. Any tips? Is there a different technique when you are holding a manual? Or same principles apply?
Haha Thanks! I really appreciate your kindness and support. More Quality videos on the channel and even more coming soon! Please help me share this channel with your friends and add us on social media and tag yourself skating to be featured @SkateParkLessons 💙🛹🙏🏽🛹💙
You don’t really need to manual but it would help, you do need to be able to lift your front wheels up but only long enough to bump your back wheels over the coping and into your pump landing 💙🛹💙
@@SkateparkLessons After some time of "surfskate trucks" I was struggling back on TKP. Your didactics from other dimension really fixed my game. Today I started to play in the coping, slamed, but I'm getting up there and I owe you LOTS! I'm sending everyone I know in need here, despite the language cause you make it super easy to follow! But also confirmed that I'm so not ready to roll in yet! Droppin' will have to suffice for now... Tnx Bro!!!!
You can imitate the motion and do it into a steeper bank ramp that has no coping. Just remember to keep the head forward and land into a pump. Wear pads for extra confidence! Let me know if this helps and good luck! You can do it. 💙🛹💙

@@SkateparkLessons I have been telling friends about your channel and they all love it. I have a question I just learned rock to Fakie but then week later when I changed my wheels from 52 to 54 mm I started to hang up more often is there a reason maybe now I should lift my truck higher on the way down. Also you should do a tutorial on triflip.
Didn't Duane Peters do this very one? When modern skateboarders like you do it, it looks very smooth and natural. When he did it (or still does it), it was a sensation of mad disaster.

this half pipe on my local park has some thick coping compared to the video would i still be able to roll in?
Totally, may be a little more of a bump feeling as you ride over it but many people like that 💙🛹💙
To do roll ins on a side walk, do I have to wait for the back wheels to hit the crack of the sidewalk?
Same principles apply, just make sure you’re In Control of your manual just as you bump your back wheels into your Roll in. 💙🛹💙
@@SkateparkLessons thanks!!
Can someone clone you to teach snowboard tricks? Any recs?

Backside feels so much easier and I can go straight up to it it’s hard , really a mental thing
So...should I learn how to manual first?
You don’t really need to manual but it would help, you do need to be able to lift your front wheels up but only long enough to bump your back wheels over the coping and into your pump landing 💙🛹💙
you make this shit look so easy b
I promise It is once you understand how it works and build up your confidence 💙🛹💙
Ok... maybe later! looks f.... scary.
😂, keep practicing your roll ins and work your way up to bigger transitions 🛹
@@SkateparkLessons After some time of "surfskate trucks" I was struggling back on TKP.
Your didactics from other dimension really fixed my game. Today I started to play in the coping, slamed, but I'm getting up there and I owe you LOTS!
I'm sending everyone I know in need here, despite the language cause you make it super easy to follow!
But also confirmed that I'm so not ready to roll in yet! Droppin' will have to suffice for now...
Tnx Bro!!!!
I find it way more comfortable to roll in than drop in, need to learn how to drop in tho
Whatever works best for you 🛹👍🏽🛹
Does it make sense to first try to roll in on a bank? Or is it an entirely different matter?
Do whatever helps you build confidence 💙🛹💙
👍

Aside from hanging up, what else can go wrong?
Fear and lack of commitment, make sure you are mentally focused 💙🛹💙
Bro ive been trying this for the last few days but i keep psyching myself out 😓
You can imitate the motion and do it into a steeper bank ramp that has no coping. Just remember to keep the head forward and land into a pump. Wear pads for extra confidence! Let me know if this helps and good luck! You can do it. 💙🛹💙
👍👍👍👍

It would be nice to learn. Our local skatepark has issues with a face tatted fella. Makes errybody uncomfortable
Sounds like he might need a hug 🛹😂🛹

I swear I've played football and skateboarding is way scarier for me than getting hit by big dudes
💙😝💙
I can’t feel my elbow, wrist and hip from rolling in and hanginh up.
I know the feeling! Thanks, I appreciate your kindness and support. More videos coming weekly. Please help me share this channel with your friends online so I can keep making new videos to help more people 💙🛹💙

I have been telling friends about your channel and they all love it.
That’s why Duanes nickname is the Master of Disaster 💙🛹💙
Rolling in is a lot scarier than ollieing a five stair in my opinion I think I might just drop in
I agree, work your way up to it, you can do it 🛹🙌🏽🛹
I can do them easily as long as there is no coping involved lol
💙🛹💙
Kinda weird that I forgot how to roll in it’s also really sad
You can get it back!!! 💙🛹💙
Is this easier than a drop in?
No 💙🛹💙
@@SkateparkLessons mastered my drop ins last week anyway so now I’m learning these👍your advice is really good and your skating skills are amazing so thank you👌👌
Kept hanging up and getting face planted but I got it down
