Actually, wasn't it a Clydesdale? I don't know about the movies but when I was there it was a clyed.

@@isabellareyes9421 They are both stocky in build and have long fetlocks, or fur on the lower legs, but Clydesdales are usually brown with white markings and they are big horses. Many breeds have long fetlocks. It's such a beautiful trait. I love the long manes and tails of the GVs! Manes and tails are often clipped on the Clydesdales, partly because they're often used as working or draft horses, so it's more practical, and partly now just from custom.

Yeah, or cob which is more a ‘slang’ term you could say, used among equestrians mainly in the uk but some people stil say cob in other countries :)
No the vanner is a blood line that’s dying out here in the uk. The gypsy cob simply doesn’t have that blood line.
I stupidly sold my 2 vanners. I still have a gypsy cob and a gypsy cross fresian. Magical breed it really is

It's still the same thing. Some people call them gypsy vanner, some call them gypsy horses. Some people even call them Welsh cobs.

That's not the only horse to have the fury legs btw the fur on the legs are called feathers
@Janet Johnson, not only that, but there are other breeds with feathering and thick mane and tails that also have way better conformation. for example the Clydesdale and shire or Friesian all have it but they also have long legs and necks giving them overall better conformation because they are more agile but muscular at the same time unlike the vanner wich most are as wide as they are tall with short or even bull necked. I mean, if you took away the thick mane and tail and pinto coloring from the vanner and passed it on the highway, you wouldn't look twice. It's built for carriage driving and plowing,that's they're original purposes. With the short legs long back they can pull a load but have no agility but the Clydesdale,shire and Friesian can not only pull a load but run fast and look better doing it and the Clydesdale even has pinto coloration as well.

@@alysabrumfield9607 friesians have some of the worst conformation of any horse breed lol. So much so, that most don't even make it to 20 because of degenerative joint conditions. They are also prone to dwarfism, despite their height. Gypsies have no breed-specific health conditions, nor do they carry a higher risk for ANY structural deformities or diseases. They're also extremely athletic lol and are one of the most common breeds seen out fox-hunting.
@SiIentMeIodies I quess a Belgian draft is extremely athletic, too, right with that bull neck wide ass and short legs? Oh how graceful and agile. Personally I raise purebred or Asil Egyptian Arabians as well as other lines of purebred Arabs Also a fan of Akhal teke and caspians,some of the most ancient and purest breeds the Andalusian/P.R.E also elegant

No, they originate from Ireland and are a breed made from the Clydesdale, Shire horse and the Fell pony. 😊

ETA: Looked it up. Bred by British Romani and Irish Traveller communities as caravan horses. The name "Gypsy Vanner" is American in origin, hence the somewhat racist terminology.

The Vanner, or Galineers Cob, is a British isles breed, arising due to the unique kind of caravans they’re used to pull.
And we’d very much appreciate it if Americans didn’t muck about with the breed the way they’ve done with Shetlands
They KNOW they have manes It all figures in with feeling and showing their Pride. Every horse can get their Pride back - auction horses, etc. They relish it.

They're a light draft. Not as tall as traditional draft horses, but just as hardy. They're called Gypsy vanners or Irish cobs. The Roma didn't originally breed them, but they do still use them today.

The 2nd horse looks like a shire. My mom had 2 brothers, both won were trophies, 😊 as did their famous father Copenhagen.
