When I was a kid I saw that Live Aid on MTV I didn't know who Queen was but for some reason I couldn't stop looking at Freddie Mercury and the guys having fun and the people are having fun that's my first memory as a kid of how wonderful music is and how great Queen is.
I had the exact same experience. I was 10 when they played at Live Aid, I saw it on TV. Such a powerful impression! No wonder it was such a key moment in the history of the band, only sad part was that it was also from there everything went south for his Royal highness himself :/
There is two kinds of people in this world, people who think the queen live aid performance is the single greatest musical experience of all time and those who have never seen it
I would've KILLED to have been alive and have seen that... cause I learnt the whole song at 8 and now everytime I watch Live Aid I get such chills. Curse me being 18 Years too late :(
Yeah, I know it's about "relationships" but I gotta theory... Accapella: Freddie's introduction to fame and his confusion of what the future will hold for him. Ballad: Freddie has to leave his family and old life behind to pursue music. Opera: Freddie is trying to break from the chains put onto him, his fear of really being himself. Rock: Freddie breaking those chains, being himself and not caring what people thought of him. Coda: A reflection of Freddie's life and fame. I believe Bohemian Rhapsody is a reflection of Freddie's life and rise to fame.
Best part is that this isn’t Queens best song, it’s a legendary song but as you actually listen to their other music; it gets better. Freddie is easily one of the best singers in history and Queen is legendary.
I miss Freddie so much it unreal and every time I hear him start Bohemian Rhapsody at Live Aid it makes me want to cry. RIP FREDDIE we all miss your over charismatic attitude x
Bohemian Rhapsody is pre conceived in Freddie Mercury’s mind. The lyrics tells about pain, hopelessness and desperation which everybody could relate. Mix it up with five part from acapella, ballad, rock, opera to finally coda with all emotions put into the song is absolutely amazing. No song in history of modern music could matched that. To music expert, Bohemian Rhapsody is a masterpiece. Well. To us it’s just a song that will remain in our hearts and memory for a long time...a classic.
Sometimes I'm bothered by being 65 years old, then I remember life events like hearing this when it was first released and being blown away by it! I am lucky.
It s a masterpiece and an experience ! This song isn't just the best song never written by also a legendary song To hear one time in his life !! Thanks for this masterpiece Mr Mercury !! Rip
According to me its one of the most complete songs in the history of music making, you're listning to an opera and suddenly the transition from that to rock is so smooth that it fills you with a feeling of unusual and magnificent satisfaction and i wouldve paid even a hundred thousand bucks for the live aid concert of the queen!
Lol it's a music opinion. There's many good songs out there, still don't get why this is superior to everything ever made, even after watching this video.

I hear Nirvana in tons of bands. I hear Metallica in tons of bands. But I almost never hear a singer and go "He sounds like Freddie" or hear a band and say "Oh yeah they are trying to sound like Queen".
@@safwannizam2932 Yeah but if Freddie/Queen was so influential I would expect to find the things that they did .. their "fingerprints" .. all over modern music. I would maybe say Queen was more "inspirational" than "influential" .. but I'm just pedantic.

This is a magnificent analysis and commentary on Queen’s "Bohemian Rhapsody"! I love how you presented the different types of music, for example: opera, rock, ballad…etc. all in one piece of music that will live forever. This video clearly shows the genius of Queen’s entire composition, as well as their incomparable performance. I have listened to it hundreds of times, maybe more! Thank you!
O.o It was realized long before he died. He was a millionaire during his career. When they played at the Live Aid concert, the crowd reaction was insane.
Just understanding what they did at the time they did it.....without the technology we have today......and you realize the sheer genius behind this song. you may not like it (which i cannot fathom) but there's no denying the musical mastery that went into making this epic piece!! 40+ years later and it's still recognizable anywhere you go.
What's sad is that people were taught about the real Galileo when I was a kid in school. Way before this song. Just shows how people dont know a lot anymore.XD
Freddy Mercury had the best voice. Mind blowing and beautiful. It's too a legend was taken from too soon. And now music is falling apart. No originality anymore. Almost like everything that could be done, has been done, and now going backwards.
Can we just talk about how even 40 years later you can mention Freddie Mercury or queen and almost everyone will know atleast 1-2 songs by them . But with today’s music you could name an artist/ song from 3 years ago and no one will know what you’re talking about. Just think it’s amazing how much of a mark these people left in history That was rlly long winded srry
Think about this the other way. We honor Beethoven and Bach from hundreds of years ago. The Beatles are still generally known and a few of their songs have even ran away from them (like Here Comes the Sun, which for the longest time i had no idea was by them). Your point about Queen still stands, but i think it's more because the pop stars are terrible than because Queen were so good. Actually, i totally think they are, especially this song. Just sayi'n.
ImEllieHello X_X THATS exactly how I feel. I new the instant I heard Queen s very first song they were going to be COMPLETELY different from everyone and everything else out there. They still are today.
When you said during the birth of your first child it made me think of the episode of "Glee" when Quinn gave birth to her baby and Bohemian Rhapsody was being performed
It's incredibly ironic that people back then were able to make masterpieces with such technology limitations, and yet today when technology is so much more advanced we can't even reach their level, let alone surpass it.

Jackson Reda Seriously?!!! Brian May is one of the best rock guitarist EVER! When he and his father built his guitar Brian knew exactly the way he wanted it to sound. Which is one of the reasons Queen is so instantly recognizable just a few notes in. And why he still plays the same guitar all these years later!!!!
Jackson Reda they have so many amazing songs and omg they are so fckn talented and amazing at what they are or were doing! Just look up their solos. Also it’s not just freddie and the others... it’s Queen :) If you once go deeper into what they did u understand why we love them so much

@@DeadByLani queen are not the worst band to ever exist but I am so tired of people saying that they are the best band of all time or that bohemian rhapsody is the best song ever, because that simply cannot be true, there is no objective best song ever, nor is there a best musical artist ever, it's all personal taste, so basically no I don't hate queen I actually like some of their songs but I am not a big fan, but my problem is with the fanbase and yeah I have a problem with most fanbases but the queen one is the most annoying
James LaBries' old high range beats out everyone in my mind... Jon Anderson's vocals in general are amazing too.
When I was a kid I saw that Live Aid on MTV I didn't know who Queen was but for some reason I couldn't stop looking at Freddie Mercury and the guys having fun and the people are having fun that's my first memory as a kid of how wonderful music is and how great Queen is.
Jorge Martinez that’s amazing! I was born 10 years after Freddie’s death so I don’t have any memories..
I had the exact same experience. I was 10 when they played at Live Aid, I saw it on TV.
Such a powerful impression! No wonder it was such a key moment in the history of the band, only sad part was that it was also from there everything went south for his Royal highness himself :/
There is two kinds of people in this world, people who think the queen live aid performance is the single greatest musical experience of all time and those who have never seen it
Oh my god :)
I would've KILLED to have been alive and have seen that... cause I learnt the whole song at 8 and now everytime I watch Live Aid I get such chills. Curse me being 18 Years too late :(

I Agree. Guitartis Brian May made one of the best Guitar Solos of All Time on this song, and he doesn't get that much credit in the end.
Yeah, I know it's about "relationships" but I gotta theory...
Accapella:
Freddie's introduction to fame and his confusion of what the future will hold for him.
Ballad:
Freddie has to leave his family and old life behind to pursue music.
Opera:
Freddie is trying to break from the chains put onto him, his fear of really being himself.
Rock:
Freddie breaking those chains, being himself and not caring what people thought of him.
Coda:
A reflection of Freddie's life and fame.
I believe Bohemian Rhapsody is a reflection of Freddie's life and rise to fame.
Nailed it.

The other one is “Bolero” by Ravel, even more when you know that the composer was starting to suffer from a type of dementia that makes you repeat patterns.
