Just got back from the Eglin AFB BX. They were having a two day Gun Show with all in-stock guns on sale.......plus 15% discounts and a $50.00 gift card on all guns over $400.00. The Colt 1911 100 year Addition was $1135.00. After all the discounts.......paid a little less than $900.00. I had wanted a Colt 1911A1 45 ACP in the original form for years. Thank god I'm still alive to own this great American icon. CMSgt Bob Remel 3 tours Vietnam 3 tours Korea 100% Combat Disabled Vietnam Veteran
God Bless you Bob. That's why Colt still makes them, for true AMERICANS like yourself. Thank you for your service, and it's never too late to tell a Viet Vet...Welcome Home Sir.. I'm 54 and I still say it to new Vets I meet, in case they didn't get to hear it when they originally returned. My folks taught me in the 60s to snap to and shake a Vets hand, and it never wore off. Like I said, God Bless you sir.
Beautiful pistol! We had blued pistols at Ft. Knox for some reason but overseas we had the parkerized pistols. Not the older version of course but the newer one from the 60's.
Remember you're not going to live forever, my father had a new 1950 Cadillac in the garage never wanted to drive it because it was beutiful when he passed, my older brother sold it the next owner made it a low ride
Very nice video. I assume with the white gloves and party manners you will not be shooting your new Colt. Well, rest assured they shoot fantastic. Mine lasted 30 minutes after the original takedown for inspection...VERY nice shooting 1911. I saw your Silver Star video. The SS was the first Custom Shop Colt I ever bought new, and has over 30k rounds through it, being used for stock gun competition for years. I kept the stock barrel and bushing new, and installed (I'm on my 3rd now) a factory Colt Barrel and bushing when new. The Silver Star is so darn hard that after the years of heavy use, it is still right in spec, and has not "shot loose" Beautiful piece, IMO Yes...I shoot my SAA too... Just to let you know, the Custom Shop offerings will actually work.LOL. No disrespect intended, thanks for the nice video, and very nice firearms you offer for us to view.Well done.
These Colts are going to be worth more fired and not fired. I fire mine, haven’t in a while but I did. I’m looking for a M45A1 clone to put this in a display case. This gun to certain people mean a lot. 1911-2011. Does anyone know or could tell me is this different then other .45’s? If so in what way and when did they change?
It would have been nice if Colt had made the magazines to match the originals with a half-blued finish and a lanyard loop on the mag......That said, still a very nice reproduction, I like mine!
During WWII Springfield would assemble Colts, the Colt factory wanted to just pump out as much material as they can. Spingfield would assemble them and alot of times using there own frames on Colts slides. I have an old Colt from WWII and the frame says Colt gov issue and towards the back of the gun near the beaver tail is stamped with the Springfield cross cannons
@treeelizard Parkerizing is completely different from blueing. Different chemicals are used. This gun is matt blued, which is correct for a WWI era 1911.
I'v heard that there was some issues with some of them, from whatever serial number to whatever serial number … How would I find out the which serial numbers have the issues ?
Excellent out of the box review. These ANVIII's have been out of production for only a year or so and impossible to find in gun stores, or selling for way above MSRP on online auctions. No wonder you wore gloves!
I still have mine. Unused/ fired by me. My Safe Queen. I needed and excuse to buy it. So I called it my pre- retirement present. I always make up an excuse to spend money.
the ending was funny! i would be ticked off if i bought a $3000 pistol and they forgot to install the front sight. haha guess it's so small, it's easy to miss.
Not shooting a gun is like not watching your flat screen tv. If you pay good money for something that had 1 purpose use it. I personally enjoy only shooting not collecting. The only reason I would not shoot it is to have it gain value but why would you ever sell such a fine pistol.
I have a pretty big collection of 1911s i sleep with the same one i saved my life with in Vietnam 50 years ago. I have one old safe queen. The rest i shoot the poop outta. Love um all
@@AKking530 That's pretty sad this ended up as a safe queen. It will be another 100 years before that gun really shows a jump in value. I have an actual 100+ year old WWI/WWII Army Colt I paid $1,350 for.
Just wondering, how come the pamphlet has the Springfield crossed cannons on it? Anyways, that thing is beautiful. I have to have a Series 70 GI model Colt one day

My oldest Colt turned 100 in April 2017. Very proud to own it.

Wow!!
Wise words and I totally agree. Use it or lose it.
front sights are only necessary if you are a perfectionist ..
cool vid, thanks for the walk through

Pretty close to my type O Government model. I wonder if Colt would sell the slide and thumb safety and the mainspring housing and blued barrel?

Could you make a video on Colt factory 1911 magazines.

Does the reproduction have the pointy “heart shaped” end mill cuts that my 1918 has in the frame?
@MyHollowpoint The US military bought their last 1911 in 1945. Some SF's are now starting to buy new ones however.
So beautiful!

Looks like a dangerous piece of kit .
Were the 1911's being made during WW2 parkerized or blued, or did they have the similar black army style unfinished blue?
really nice crafted as soon as i can afford one nra member from texas
@HDcamel yeah, i noticed. after i posted it i checked it, but all was said and done. maybe it was the tier II that was $3000...
I'v heard that there was some issues with some of them, from whatever serial number to whatever serial number … How would I find out the which serial numbers have the issues ?
Where did you go?Sir.
Do you know what the production numbers of the tier III model are?
thumbs if you prefer a short trigger and large main spring housing :)
Are these pretty hard to find? I really would like to get one but i dont see them to much anymore.
It was stupid to put 2011 on them. Should have just made more of the regular army repros.
@tvlarsen76 That info is irroneous. We had them at Panmunjom and Viet Nam was full of newer ones with the newer serial numbers.

Beautiful
Finally after a long wait received mine today ^_^
Nice!!
Verygood @thailand
Sweet gun man
Does this one have the Series 80 type firing pin block inside the slide?
@@grayrider1865 Outstanding!!!
@MeLlamoBradly The Springfield Armory of today is not the same as the original Springfield Armory. Do a quick Google search on it,
Too bad that slide isn't ball cut. Still a fine pistol though. :D
Guns gold and silver all go together.. Your the coin guy also as i reconize you voice.
WHOOPTY DOO!
the ending was funny! i would be ticked off if i bought a $3000 pistol and they forgot to install the front sight. haha guess it's so small, it's easy to miss.
ohhh, she's pretty
Drool !
Are the magazine floor plates pinned on this anniversary model?

สวยมากอยากได้ซื้อๆๆที่ไหนอ่ะ

Been wantin' a aniv. mod.
Take the gloves off load that thing up and sling some lead. John browning is rolling over in his grave
Number one
like a kid with the first bb gun red ryder but hey don't point it at your palm don't play with it
Mine is 100 this year :D
I bet this gun is a safe queen. I own one I shoot it every chance I get to go to the rang the gun was made to be use not in a safe all the time
I have a pretty big collection of 1911s i sleep with the same one i saved my life with in Vietnam 50 years ago. I have one old safe queen. The rest i shoot the poop outta. Love um all
no series 70
why do you wear gloves? btw im a noob
Very nice gun but sheesh, the absence of the sight doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence...especially on a special edition.
@TacticalTuckFard More like $1000, but still...
I shoot mine😜
I wear the gloves to keep from getting the oil from my hands on the pistol. The skin oils are corrosive and can damage the finish.
Thanks for watching
That is a beautiful 1911! Have you ever shot her yet? Still have her?
Tyrone McBride he’s wearing gloves in the unboxing. He obviously had no intentions of ever shooting it lol

To the guy that says Mr colt talks to slow if you don't like it don't watch him
Your the coin guy also... We both collect the good stuff.
please don't tell me this is the first time opening this box... mine woulden't get through the ride home... XP
is this supposed to come with a blued sear and/or disconnect? mine has a mold injected sear disconnect and unpolished trigger bow.
Just wondering, how come the pamphlet has the Springfield crossed cannons on it? Anyways, that thing is beautiful. I have to have a Series 70 GI model Colt one day
A thing of beauty
If I had that I don't think I would every shoot it because it's a 100th Anniversary addition and it would go up in value if it's non fired
The young people in my life that i love are gonna get some real treats soon im gonna start given my 1911s to them..
