What a great job on the old kitchen, that's a lot of work getting the render off. How lovely to see the horses at the end. I mostly paint Lusitano horses 💚♥
Good to see you again you always peaceful doing the work around yes the stone walls looking very nice but challenging take care you getting the job very well thanks for showing courage bye
Hi Suzi. It's Raquel you did a great Job on the Wall in your Dream Room. And your back Door of your Home fixing the Door Looks good I know you still need to do more Work on your Door it will come out good when you finish the Door. And you did a good Job Cleaning your Yard a Little bit to.And I will Pray you will get more People to join your You Tube to.❤ Raquel.See you Sunday keep doing good what ever else you do.❤. Raquel.
See I could watch you tear down that wall all day, lol Here in the Kansas City area of Missouri where I moved to get out of California in 2002 with my husband because both kids have moved out and eventually my daughter and husband followed five years later to get out of LA and my son never came back from college to California we’re finally cooling down. We’re at a high of 71 today and had 24 hours of rain showers and it is so nice. Next week will be in the 70s but I’m sure we’ll get one last heatwave before winter. Well at least I’m not in California they’re still in the 98 range this week. But I didn’t move here because of the heat I left behind. I’ve just never look so forward to winter before and I don’t know why maybe it’s my old age
Hi Susie I’m leaving in Australia and I’m watching you since the other house I never write to you because English is my second language, but I love everything you do I admire you because I always love to live the way you do, you make me smile every time you make something special your hibe you project is so beautiful your voice is so calm that I transport to you place. Thank you so much for being here with me 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Gladys for your lovely message. I understand your English perfectly well. I am happy I can bring you here to Portugal with me every Sunday. I look forward to hearing again from you 🙏💕
Wonderful idea to put the dowels in the slots of the door. Also adds a lovely bit of design. Very clever! Cosmos are my favorite flowers. I enjoy your videos because you emit such positivity in your broadcasts. I look forward to your videos all week
Hi Suzie, I'm another one from Australia - yay! I love your videos and seeing you turn your hand to anything and facing challenges head on, you are inspirational. Thank you for sharing xxx
Hi Suzy, I think you should build a front porch or an overhang to protect your wood doors and windows. I love horses. It’s nice to see them. I think in between your videos, show some part of your travel videos showing what you did in the past during this time in order to increase your viewers and subscribers. Wish you reach 10,000 subscribers soon. 😊❤
In winter wood expands, in summer it contracts, you've just filled the expansion joint, put clear silicone along the bottom, use washing up liquid to smooth it out
What an amazingly kind gesture from Fernando. You have given me the inspiration to have a go at pointing my granite walls and put to use my grungy collection of terry towelling turbans. Is there a chance on your property to grow vertically against a wall something like Hokkaido pumpkins or beans? Could cut down irrigation. Have a great week, Suzi.
Hi Suzie, lovely ending to your post...horses! Thankyou. Such a clever idea to add beading to those door grooves. And leaving a stone wall as a feature, with the rest plain! The large wall could have a pop of colour as a focal point as well, perhaps? Great idea to recycle your pool water into new containers. Every bit of saving helps. So nice having a guy in your life to bring you such a useful pressie. How are your plans going to improve your grape production? After being inspired by your viewing trip. Have you started a wine collection yet? Mmm, nice comforting port, I used to keep mine in frig in Summer. Teamed with a slice of fruit cake, laced with brandy! 🍇🍷💐🐝🍰
Thank you for your lovely support. I am sure I will put colour on the wall. I need to speak to someone about how to get my vines to produce grapes. A few did, but most of them didn’t. I actually drank my port cold too in the summer. Your fruit cake sounds very tasty 😋🥰
Just an FYI but on TH-cam “Sow the land” has several different rain catching methods they could give you an idea that hopefully you wouldn’t have to string too many hoses. He has coming off the barn but with those he has to carry buckets in his truck, a self supporting rain catch in two barrels and then he has a bigger one that goes into a big black barrel because apparently black barrels are better or you have to keep them covered with a black tarp so you don’t have mold but then he is also catching for animals to drink. Anyway here’s a video of one of his smaller catching supports th-cam.com/video/FZMwItOUrXs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=X2mcnH6YzIKvHY_A
Hi Suzi! You are doing a beautiful job on the walls. Also a great idea for fixing the front door. Love watching you making progress on the property. Will you be doing any decorating in your home for the Fall season? Take care till next time! ❤🍁🍂
It’s interesting what you said about fires and the Monsanto area Suzi. I had thought that the whole central/Castelo Branco area, being hotter & drier than the north, would be more prone to fires. So surprised to see the massive scale of the fires up there. And heartbreaking too 😢😢
The Castelo Branco region only had a few fires this year and I’m not sure what happened in the north. And now we have warnings of heavy rain for 72 hours which could cause land slips on the burnt mountainsides 😅
@@dreamlifeportugal The floods do seem to follow the fires 😳 I remember watching the devastation with fire followed by floods that The Indie Projects (Theo & Bee) experienced a couple of years ago. It was almost beyond belief 😔 (Just remembering that you know them from vanlife)
Hi Susie The joints in the door filler are tongue and groove and generally free floating the allow for the expansion and contraction of the wood. Normally the panels should be flush on the outside so water can run off hence the door maybe on back to front.
Would it be possible for you to put up some type of gutter over the front door, so that the rain would be redirected to either side and then it wouldn't drain down the front of the door, but more to the sides and actually out from the door (if that makes sense lol) ? Just a thought when watching. I love the door and windows being stained wood, but yea it doesn't seem to be protecting it. 🙂
Great job on the new project. Whenever I watch any channel I try to remember to check if I am still subscribed. I don't know why my subscription keeps changing back to unsubscribed.
Thank you Maureen. TH-cam has automatic bots that remove subscribers if they think they are spam accounts but I think they have problems with the technology 😅🥰
Ive been following a couple of years since the last house.....this is something i dont understand of youtube..but it seems to me chanels who dont talk much seem to have a greater following.....eg..ona chanel i follow on their first 3 videos the got 9k subs...speaking very little...who knows ??all these korean japanese chinese ladies cleaning their homes dont show their face seem to have thousands of followers .
There is a french YT channel I watch "Escape To Rural France" and when I am watching from my TV (Roku), I keep having to re-subscribe to that channel. So, something similar may be happening with your channel. It seems like it's either YT's doing, or it's some type of a glitch in the system, because I am not unsubscribing. Weird. Just an FYI
I’m sorry that’s all you think was in my video. I always try to make videos with variety. Did you fast forward the whole thing 😂😂 Look out for donkeys next week 🫏
This is my personal opinion when I watch TH-cam channels and I do watch a lot of them but I really do enjoy the ones from Spain Portugal France because it’s different than what we have in the United States when you make improvements or the homes but I like to see the channel I watch have a lot of working, improving, Cleaning and so on and not so much talking I’ve gotten to the point I can’t stand too much talking because if I want that I’ll watch the news and these days I don’t even like the news. That’s just my point of you but improvements showing what you’re doing is what I want to see not a lot of talking. Like I say that’s my opinion if that helps you figure out why your channel is moving slow.
I think Suzi has a good balance of showing and talking and I’m sure many of her subscribers like that too. There are plenty of channels out there so we can each choose & follow what appeals to each of us 😊
Great job! Love the stone wall. The wood dowels on the door is a great idea.

Suzy consider marine grade varnish for your door and window frames. Lovely work on revealing stone walls. 💚
Thank you Sheila. I’ve bought a good varnish so let’s see how that works this winter 😀💕

You need an overhang above the door, keep the water from running down the door.
I’m waiting to have guttering installed. However, the wind blows the rain against the door 😅💕
