It's not much smaller lol. Still amazes me just how compact the pc engine was! Thing that got me most though was when I got my CD Rom interface back in late 88! The size of the box alone still amazes me that inside there is the CD drive, interface, and although obviously wasn't supplied with it, the console itself could fit in there. The size of a mastersytem console alone at the time was way bigger! A family of pc engines could live inside the Sega' s box!!
I wish some of you here to stop going after MJR.... MJR is working extremely hard on a weekly video of top favorite games and its very stressful work so lay off the guy!

R-Type has an odd resolution that’s being stretched both vertically and horizontally by all the aspect ratio options, which are all wrong for it. Interpolation is needed to prevent shimmering on that game on both the vertical and horizontal axises.
The price of the Turbografx16 mini rose from $150 to $200 on EBay after I bought mine. Amazon claims they don’t release them till December I’m just disappointed I don’t get DEAD MOON and SOLDIER BLADE. The only game they seemed to care about was Splatterhouse. I guess the only mini I need now is a JAGUAR MINI with the 5 games in its library that weren’t trash.
Yes you can. They are all identical minus the costs.... And maybe 1 or 2 games difference. But they are all the same. I went with the Japanese version and an 8-bitdo turbo controller and saved like $200 from the American release... I am not even kidding.... The games and modes are identical across all of them... Except, again, 1 or 2 games... So do yourself a favor and save money by getting a Japanese version. You won't be disappointed and it'll be the same thing for much cheaper... And get a $20 8bitdo turbo controller if you must have one... Because you'll be looking at roughly $380 for the American version, mostly because of the addition of the included Turbo Controller, and the games and modes are NOT much different... Literally 99% identical but $200 more expensive because of a Turbo Controller that should only cost you an extra $20.... No joke get the Japanese one man... You'll be able to set it up in English and play it exactly the same as the American version. That's what I am doing anyway... And I personally don't care for the 1 or 2 different games from either of them... Anyway, take care man..
Turbo is by far the best system invented! I still have mine from 1990 when I was a kid! I am super proud I haven’t sold it or gotten rid of it.This turbo mini just came out but we can’t get it because of the virus liked and subscribed please pick me👄😍😘❤️

Never had a tb16 but when I saw the design and games listed in this. I WANT this mini console. I’m on the fence about how I feels about Splatterhouse being censored but it looks like they went with the Us version in Us mode I can’t be that mad. I know Japan PC-engine mini version certainly looks like Japan’s version. Granted I feel like the proper uncensored version is the arcade original and that’s on Splatterhouse 2010 as an unlockable.

About a week later I managed to scrounge the cash to get one... To make a long story short...I wound up finding a Core Grafx Mini. I bought it and I still play it today. It is the very best mini console out, still. Addendum- My sister is in Japan as we speak. She just picked up a PCE Mini and Sega Astro City for me. I can't wait to get them!

I just got mine yesterday and man, is amazing. Great games. A lot os shooters. Totally worth the money. Will be waiting for the mods. One point down is the cap behind. Very bad design. But does not change my opinion. :)

One of my all time favorite TG16 games was Moto Roader. It was the perfect excuse to buy a TurboTap and 4 additional controllers. It was so much fun playing with my 2 brothers, brother in law and sister that xmas in 1989. This video brought back those fond memories that I pulled out the clam shell case housing the TG16+CDROM. I had to show my fiance who's currently sitting on the couch playing Animal Crossing on her S-Lite. Haha, she didn't care. Anyways. This is fun stuff.
So ironic that the smallest system of the original 16-bit wars opts to go for the largest mini. Pop it open and it is the IDENTICAL board inside the PC-Engine Mini (even on down to the parts #). Half the TG-16 Case is empty space. Interesting design choice by Konami.

I didn't even know this was released. I HAD a TurboGrafx16. I was a big fan of it. It was a decent system. Bonk's Revenge was awesome as was Splatterhouse. There were a lot of other games I had but I can't think of them right now. It's been a while.

Well there were other consoles prior to that from like Atgames. But wouldnt the Neo X be more like the Switch before the Switch?😂 Handheld or play on the tv~ but many did forget about it because of the drama between Tommo & SNK at the time and the quality issues. I went through exchanging 3 of them. One of them the battery blew up in the handheld lol.
I sold my Turbo Grafx 16/Turbo Tab/Turbo Stick a few months ago. Had it since the 80s. Hopefully it went to a good home. Whenever I wanted to resume games for later play, I would leave my original system on pause. Then come back to it a few days later. The mini is a better option for me, since it has saved states and tons of internal games. It is missing some of my favorites, like Keith Courage. Hopefully the hacking community with take care of that

3:00 Like you said it's the "North American" not "US release". That's why there's French and probably Spanish in the manual. Americans pretty much always say "US release" for games and consoles but that's almost never (if ever) been the case. I'm American but I know enough not to say "US release".

I rather buy a pc engine from japan ans get an ever drive for those very expensive games, I do have a big collection of Japanese games including castlevania and splatter house and lot more and for the super expensive games I have a turbo everdrive
I just got my TG16 mini after almost a year since placing pre-order. I LOVE THIS THING! The only gripe I have is software. If Alien Crush is on there, why not Dev Crush too? Overall this mini ticks, done right, fast, great menu and options. Looking forwards to a Hachi.

The only giveaway I ever won was a Disney Infinity 3.0 Hulkbuster Iron Man giveaway, which is not really much of a giveaway, but was worth it. If I do win it, I can actually cancel the pre-order and use the gift card balance meant for the thing, and use it on something else like an XBox One. The venerable up up down down left right left right start (run) code works in gradius on the pc engine mini. Does it work on Salander (life force)?

I had that console back in the days.... my favorite games that i owned were dragon spirit and bloody wolf.... ive sold my console to a friend for almost nothing... now i regret it!

I didn't even know this was released. I HAD a TurboGrafx16. I was a big fan of it. It was a decent system. Bonk's Revenge was awesome as was Splatterhouse. There were a lot of other games I had but I can't think of them right now. It's been a while.

Yeah, they didnt make very many it seems and the TG16 Mini goes for a lot more now on places like ebay etc. Was $99 when it came out.

I consider the first mini the Neo Geo X but most people forgot about it.
Well there were other consoles prior to that from like Atgames. But wouldnt the Neo X be more like the Switch before the Switch?😂 Handheld or play on the tv~ but many did forget about it because of the drama between Tommo & SNK at the time and the quality issues. I went through exchanging 3 of them. One of them the battery blew up in the handheld lol.
I sold my Turbo Grafx 16/Turbo Tab/Turbo Stick a few months ago. Had it since the 80s. Hopefully it went to a good home. Whenever I wanted to resume games for later play, I would leave my original system on pause. Then come back to it a few days later. The mini is a better option for me, since it has saved states and tons of internal games. It is missing some of my favorites, like Keith Courage. Hopefully the hacking community with take care of that

Since the CoreGrafx Mini release has been delayed in Europe as well, after watching this video, MLP has convinced me and I just got the TG-16 Mini on Amazon Japan as well. The price is the same as in Europe (except for the custom fees of course) and to be honest, I'd rather like this one over the CoreGrafx Mini!
3:00 Like you said it's the "North American" not "US release". That's why there's French and probably Spanish in the manual. Americans pretty much always say "US release" for games and consoles but that's almost never (if ever) been the case. I'm American but I know enough not to say "US release".

I rather buy a pc engine from japan ans get an ever drive for those very expensive games, I do have a big collection of Japanese games including castlevania and splatter house and lot more and for the super expensive games I have a turbo everdrive
I just got my TG16 mini after almost a year since placing pre-order. I LOVE THIS THING! The only gripe I have is software. If Alien Crush is on there, why not Dev Crush too? Overall this mini ticks, done right, fast, great menu and options. Looking forwards to a Hachi.

I entered the Giveaway in the hopes that I DO win one, so I won't have to buy it directly from Japan like you have. The only giveaway I ever won was a Disney Infinity 3.0 Hulkbuster Iron Man giveaway, which is not really much of a giveaway, but was worth it. If I do win it, I can actually cancel the pre-order and use the gift card balance meant for the thing, and use it on something else like an XBox One.
If I lose, though, I'll just wait for the Stimulus check (If I'm getting one), and put part of it towards the Japanese purchase.
All these mini's are soo cool! I never got a chance to own the original Turbo Grafx-16. I love the menu/music of the mini. So nostalgic!🤗 I will die happy if they ever come out with a Sega Saturn mini. You hear me, Sega??!!🙏😉😆
TurboGrafx-16 is one of those systems that I always wanted to get but never had the chance. So I am definitely looking forward to getting the TurboGrafx-16 mini.
