You know most preachers get up and preach a feel good message. You can get an hour of fluff and walk out of the service checking that little box off of your to do list. Wow, I have to say that I am so overwhelmed by this video. I am a person who loved the study of science. For you to bring it to biblical view blows mind. Now I have gone into a serious revival study. It comes down to what JESUS said. We cannot be of this world. The most part is that sadness me and make me cry is that no one else is really listening. So I just add and pray that GOD, please open their eyes and let them see. I will tell you this that I cry, and I cry for everyone.

Look for Dr COvin he has video about creation, this is one of the thing I really font believe and juts made up so we can have a good relation with Atheist. God created all in 6 days human 6 days not billion etc.

The Revelation Series was a great blessing. I was totally absorbed because it was the Lockdown period here in London and my focus was on these Bible Study series. I have learnt so much about the Book of Revelation and now I am looking forward to the Book of Genesis series.

I recently had similar conceptions and this excites me greatly. I was led to search for others that might have had similar conceptions. I am so happy to see that it is not just me seeing this. The following are the first 4 parts of what I see. This can be tied directly to big bang theory. I currently live in Oregon and I was raised in Miami, OK which I view as a really big coincidence. ------
1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Spacetime came into existence separate from heaven. Spacetime was much different then. Earth being an emphasis on what is to be. We would have had no conception of what hydrogen was before now.)
2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (waters being the beginning of the formation of the hydrogen proton, The emphasis of what will become the beginning of the formation of water. A necessary substance for life.)
3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (the electron paired with the hydrogen proton effectively neutralizing it)
4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. (trapped light escaped it's hydrogen proton cloud. rapid expansion begins.)

What if God, in eternity past, conceived the cosmos fully complete, and when he spoke, the universe came into existence in a form that is billions of years old? Then, everything in creation is thoroughly mature and, from that moment, proceeds forward, including light in real time. That would satisfy the six days of creation and would not contradict the Biblical genealogy and prophecies of God's word. The Earth is where the Biblical story begins. Our Salvation is what His story is about, and Jesus, the Word of God, is the story's hero.

God gives us his holy word in the Bible and we are supposed to read, believe and have faith. The details of how God created the universe and earth are in Gods supernatural powers. We cannot understand using any known science. Have faith in what the Bible says and don’t argue the details. It says God created everything in 6 days and God rested on the 7th day. That is all we need to know.
Yes-and then in the next breath, on the next day, you said he made the stars. The Milky Way is . . . stars! So which is it?

Pastor Nolan, you are one of my favorite Bible expositors. Respectfully though, these explanations of space-time stretching and relativity have nothing to do with some Christians' secular view of The Beginning. We know this because the 2nd law of thermodynamics didn't exist until the Curse. Ergo, the stretching of the universe didn't begin at the beginning. That means that time dilation was irrelevant to the scale of observation in our modern era. God says he created the universe in six days, and those who wish to disregard that do so from blind faith, not informed faith, as we who trust in Jesus are called to have.
Question for pastor Allen: So, from science perspective, is man 1/4 billion years old? and since the universe continues to expand, is time always counted exponentially and not linear? Thank you for explanations. I find this topic fascinating.

I believe in the Big Bang happened in Genesis Chapter 1:1 when earth was actually formed and Lucifer ruled, fell and God sent the first flood, extinguished the light and left it. Then a Gap ( Gap theory) 1:2, where God came back to use Earth again. Now I would like to know what the purpose God had for the other planets?

Hello Pastor Allen there is a small confusion, about the creation of the firmament , I am using the NIV version, in which chapter 1: 7,8 its written GOD made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it , and it was so , GOD called the expanse sky . But you said GOD made the milky way?? I didn't understand this ?

No, the soul doesn’t stay with the body till judgment. At death the soul departs to either be with God in the current heaven or to hades while the body decays in the ground. For believers, the soul and (glorified) body are reunited at the Rapture. For the damned, the judgment comes at the very end of time before the New Heaven and New Earth as described at the end of Revelation.
I appreciate the fact that you allow for the old universe view, but there are a few problems with your message. The universe is expanding in space, but not time, that is, space itself is expanding. The age that the scientists give is actually 13.79 billion years old, which is a bit lower than the number you used.
Light and darkness were not "mixed" in the early universe, the universe was dark, or opaque, until roughly 380,000 years after the big bang. That's because the universe was still too hot for electrons to bind to their nuclei, and it was a hot plasma, which consisted of ions - positively charged hydrogen (~75%) and helium (~25%) nuclei and electrons. This ionized plasma scattered light and it was thus opaque. As the universe continued to expand, it cooled to the point where electrons were captured by nuclei forming neutral atoms and then the universe became transparent. Light shines in darkness and eliminates the darkness (scientific understanding, similar to John 1:5).
Can I recommend to everyone Hugh Ross? He is a PhD astrophysicist who came to God at the age of 17 through his scientific knowledge. He saw that at the Big Bang, time, space, matter, and energy came into being and that they didn't exist before! Thus he knew if there was a beginning, there had to be a Beginner - God! This led him on a search into philosophy and then into the various world religions, all of which he quickly dismissed. But when he came to the Bible, right away he recognized that it fit with the cosmology which he learned from his scientific studies, and he committed his life to Christ. What he saw right in Genesis 1:2 was the scientific method - identify the frame of reference (the surface of the waters) and identify the starting conditions (without form and void, dark). He also saw how the Genesis account was in agreement with the fossil record and the Cambrian Explosion, and how it meshed so well with the sequence of changes and events in the earth's long history, including the rise of the continents and the oxygenation of the atmosphere. Not bad for a 17 year old kid! He was fascinated by the stars and at the age of 7 he started reading 4 to 5 books a week on astronomy and physics and never looked back! He did post doctoral research at Cal Tech, he has approximately 30 books in print, and he founded Reasons to Believe. He is a humble, gentle, and patient teacher and a dynamic soul winner. I can't recommend him highly enough! He's all over TH-cam and you will rejoice and glorify God as you watch and listen to his various talks which he gives typically in churches and university settings.
Finally! Here’s a response that calls into question the figures Pastor Nolan uses in his explanations. They’re so botched that I’m afraid he lost credibility with me.
This pastor is well studied and very familiar with all the leading names of all the different views. I guarantee you he knows who Hugh Ross is.

I'm curious as to how we know beyond the shadow of a doubt the universe is expanding
Google “red shift” for an explanation of how astronomers know about the expansion. Maybe that will help you understand. But I, too, get suspicious of anyone who uses that “beyond the shadow if a doubt” line. Eeeew. It sounds like a slick used car salesman who’s trying to persuade you while getting all the facts wrong or concealing the truth. At least in this case Pastor Nolan’s mention of the red shift was correct while pretty much every other scientific value he presented was completely botched.
Something else to ponder: Back when God was inspiring Moses to write Genesis, they had ZERO technology. If God said to Moses, "So, there was an explosion and the plasma came out and then photons and atoms formed..." Moses would have had no idea what on earth God was even talking about. This account is (for lack of better terms) dumbed-down for the time. If I was going to try to explain the Big Bang theory and the creation of the universe in scientific terms to a caveman, this is very close to the language I'd choose.

So as I listen and contemplate these things, I am more convinced of both a young earth and divine time translation similar to modern science to explain the creation of the universe and that it was by God supernaturally. However, I feel the Genesis Big Bang theory falls apart in reference to the time frame reference used to look back…where in the 6th day do we sit? Also, if we still reside in the six day of creation, then the seventh has not occurred…and I find that exceptionally hard to prove considering the value of the sabbath in Gods decree to keep it as He also rested in that day

What comes to mind is that famous (and didactic) moral tale of the blind men trying to define an elephant - different perspectives of one big picture with 'blind' folks quibbling over what are, ultimately, non-issues.
God created Adam as an adult, God could make an aged earth as well. I have no problem with the understanding of the 24 hrs day of creation.

To God a day is like a thousand years, and I believe he said Yom means 24 hours.

This is magnificent! Baby look. Whoever tell somebody they are a heretic because they believe something different about SCIENCE should be ashamed. It is the belief in Jesus that determines SALVATION, not what we believe about creation. This is confirmation. I was going saying that science isn't against the Bible it's man's attempt to understand God's creation. Even if they don't believe in him, it's his so it's what they are doing. People understand the Bible... they don't understand higher SCIENCE and MATH. God revealed this to me about science, but I didn't understand science or the law of relativity... this is amazing. Time and creation is funny even after God created Adam... like a baby grows so rapidly in the womb, but slows growth when detached from the mother. Keep doing God's work. Thank you... this strengthened my belief. I believe BOTH! BECAUSE SCIENCE IS REAL BECAUSE GOD MADE EVERYTHING STUDIED BY IT AND HE'S REAL, AND YES HE'S RIGHT MAN GETS IT WRONG. Magnificent! My aunt told me this when I was little, about satan being over creation on Earth, dinosaurs, a reptilian race? Could they talk? She just didn't explain the science. Anything can be theorized, but as long as we believe Jesus is lord is all that matters. Some people can't read or comprehend because their brains are injured from birth or another reason... but I thank God TODAY FOR HIS TEACHERS... GLORY! He did do an excellent job. The atomic bomb is real, so there has to be something to the science. Thank you Lord for your word. It says in the Bible we are not to debate, so he leads well to stop the quarrel behind it. Blessed are the peace keepers. True man of God with true revelation.
Question about the big bang theory. Did Noah live to 900years because of the stretching of time?
Possibly, but in the Bible God said had he not shortened man's days none would survive. I think that's why we die by 100, and don't live to 900.
Question the universe has to be well balance to support life on the planet on the third day God was planting bushes and stuff how that work
Also, I understand that God created man on the 6th day, but where does it say that the number of man is 6 bcuz of it? I'm not questioning God. That's just how my brain works.
It says the number of the antichrist is 666 because it's the number of man and the antichrist is man not God. That's how we know 6 is the number of man. It didn't say it in Genesis, but you can see why it makes sense.

Pay attention brethren! Both theories explain "cavemen" and dinosaurs! Behemoth in the book of Job is a long neck! Just my belief though...
But if “cavemen” lived before Adam and Eve, how were A and E the first of mankind? We know they were the first of the line that would eventually produce Jesus the Messiah, but were they the first humans if Neanderthals and the other early guys lived before them? And we learn from science that hunter/gatherers came before farmers and that Cain was a farmer, how does this fit with Adam and Eve being the first humans? Were they the first individuals to be given a soul and relationship with God (with the earlier folks being considered “animals” being created just before A and E)? I ponder these things all the time and would appreciate anyone’s input.
If Earth really was spherical, helicopters would be able to hover in place and wait for their destinations to come to them. If Earth really is spinning, bullets fired upwards would land hundreds of feet Westwards. They don’t.

You are forgetting gravity and some other laws about the earth, which God built into His creation and that Newton and others wrote about. These explain why bullets and helicopters don't do what you suggest, and also why the eath spins. As for a spherical earth, ask an airplane pilot how he navigates.
