Reed, like the bearded butchers you have helped us learn about your craft. It's something no doubt many of us would like to get better at, and thanks to you we can!
nice mackerel! i like that fish so much! good for grilling and sashimi and not expensive! i had it with mago salsa with friend in Australia. it was good experience! thanks for exceptional filletting skill!
Reed, have you ever considered having your Dad do a companion video for each fish with a short form factor on How to catch it, when to catch it and how deep to catch it.
Hi there! My name's Alex. Love your channel. As a self taught chef with over 30 years in the business it's channels like yours that have helped me become the chef I am today. I moved down here to Florida in September and love to go fishing. And while I've always been an advocate for catch and release up north, coming down here I've come to terms with the fact that I'm a bigger advocate for fish tacos...lol Learning the nuances of fileting saltwater fish from your channel has been awesome. Thanks for sharing your skills with us. It is truly appreciated. I would love to visit y'alls shop. Where are you located? Thanks again for the videos. Tight Lines!
Hey chef! Thank you so much for that feedback! I laughed out loud when I read “bigger advocate for fish tacos” 😂 Yes sir, we’re in Delray Beach, Florida 🤙
Hey Reed I've always enjoyed saltwater products but just curious on what your take is on mercury levels and other contamination. Thanks and have a great day man. ☮️😁☮️
@@reedthefishmonger they actually do, I recently watched your halibut video and was able to do a decent job. I’d watched the “no fresh water on saltwater fish” video and that kept me from making that mistake. My buddy didn’t know and called to ask me if my fish turned weird after filleting it, he rinsed his with fresh water. He’s properly clued in and subscribed to your channel so, big thanks Reed!
So many different Mackerels ??? and their BIG in the Atlantic Ocean and GOM but smaller ones in the Pacific the blue and Spanish are XLNT for nigiri 🍣 sushi especially with ponzu & shredded green onions 👍👍 “PELE MELE KIKI BOBO eh”
