    The analogy he gave at the beginning was incomplete and lopsided, what he missed was the clause of going first, the player who goes first definitely scores a hundred point even if he doesn’t find the ball, for those going second are assured of 50 points if they deliberately choose the same cup, even after knowing that there’s nothing inside. and the best clause of the game was that, they just need 50 points to survive to the next level. Obviously no choice left!
    If it’s not about the players competing and winning individually then they could probably cut a deal of sharing the first gain made and the player who goes second shouldn’t/wouldn’t have wasted a chance luring for small gain. The case is simple, In the real world it’s not about players, it’s about survival and there’s only one team and is losing, - The living beings!

      The estimated earth age is 4.5 billion years. Is it a good idea to think humans can destroy the earth and living beings? This may be over rated just like COVID. I can't even imagine how living beings evolved over 4.5 billion years. Humans will for sure find solutions to any challenege and will survive (with the help of mass conciousness). There are good videos on "Creatures Living INSIDE Volcanoes"

    Per capita consumption of meat in W. Europe and USA in excess of 180kg per capita per yr. This contributes to poor land use, water wastage, methane and emissions resulting from supply chain and a slew of other unsustainable practices that harm oceans and Forests.
    (Per capita consumption in India 4 kg per capita per yr, Asia consumes the least of all continents)
    Generally speaking Asia is more densely populated than Europe. India for ex has nearly 5 times the population of the US with a third of the land it has. Canada's population is about twice the size of New Delhi's and it has 3 times the land compared to India. I can go on and on.
    As the speaker points out developing countries have to balance economic and industrial activity and environmental practices. But for structural reasons we have to be doubly mindful of water, Forrest's, clean air and other natural resources.
    Although we are ahead on our UN targets for switching to renewables and although we have planted almost a billion trees in recent years, we have to constantly balance industrial growth with environmental policy which impacts public health among other quality of life indicators.
    We realise if we model our society on the wasteful, consumerist systems pioneered in the West the country is in for catastrophe.
    So whereas I agree the West shouldn't pontificate, it should lead by setting an example.

    I have been privileged to been employed by a large Aerospace company that includes some of the most experienced Atmospheric Biologists in the world. These are folks tasked with tracking data not to satisfy the man made climate change narrative but to find conditions that produce efficiency in air travel. It turns out that more efficiency has a by-product of less pollution. The 2 scientists I have supported for nearly 20 years agree on several things, pollution is bad for everyone, that alternative fuels are the future and that the 2 biggest influences to the Climate are Solar radiance and Geothermal/Volcanic activity. That there are no recorded patterns to establish any causation by any other factors. Even the orbit of the Earth and Moon contribute more impact than man has.

      No offense intended but:
      While Climate change is a natural process due to Sun spots, volcanic eruptions etc.. The problem that we r facing currently is that it's effects are being exacerbated due to human activities that include excessive carbon emissions.
      I agree that we should worry when climate change stops but we should also be worrying about the fact that the current rate of climate change and it's detrimental effects are toppling the natural balance of the environment and mother earth.

    should we let developing nations commit the same mistakes we did? does the planet deserve to suffer because done people have feelings?

    • @darrens3
      @darrens3 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's that old adage; what's the point in development if it's a means to an end. The irony is we are going to 'develop' ourselves out of existence at the rate we're going. And the bigger irony is that climate change will affect developing nations first. Most of the poorest nations on earth inhabit the equator and area that is already hard to inhabit. Add climate change to that and it will be so hot it will be uninhabitable. The funniest thing is that humans can occupy rather cold areas hence the Inuit. They're quite resourceful. But there is a threshold where humans definitely can't occupy somewhere too hot. And it's a much lower threshold. As in colder climes water is abundant and you can use frozen water as building material. You can't however build with sand and no water.

    • @fatsamcastle
      @fatsamcastle 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Darren “Daz” Silk the equator is tropical and full of water, it's full of rain forests.
      but underdeveloped nations shouldn't have full range to continue to harm the planet just because the developed nations already have.
      no nation should have an excuse to ignore climate change. or any other environmental issues.

    • @DocRealTalk
      @DocRealTalk 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Perhaps the developed nations that developed by robbing the "developing nations" and polluting for centuries should stop robbing the third world. In fact even though the "developing nations" are producing and polluting more at this point, A LOT of that production is owned by first world capitalists.
      The issue is capitalism and it's endless need for economic growth. Developed nations use up most of the wold's resources and waste the most. The "developing countries" basically became their factories.
      The pollution happening in the developing countries is directly linked to the consumption of resources in the developed countries. The fact is the developed nations would need to totally change the global economic model and reduce their quality of life and the abundance of material goods before something can be done about this.

    As a Pakistani, I want to say on behalf of all developing countries , we are just paying for what western developed countries did 200 years ago. it's them that they are responsible for global warming when usa was ranked 35 and india 22, through the industrial revolution they have augmented the world's economic in their country , now when developing countries are on wave to have industrial or manufacturing revolution , they are forced down to come down , no we will not step down untill you all western countries provide us sufficient funds like carbon credits and sustainable technology to help us implement SDGs esp 7 / clean and cheap energy. Renewable energy is way fwd.
