I wont spoil it, but I laughed at those end shots! That was a great instruction lesson. I love how the way you explain what you're doing and why you're doing it the way you are - no over-complications - and bringing both horse and rider together. Thank-you Sandra - and pats to the Cobb crew!
Wonderful little lesson! As a lifetime jumper rider/trainer/breeder, I really enjoyed the cobs learning the work. Same routine we would use on a Sporthorse, Thoroughbred, or European Warmblood. Those Irish really know how to breed a horse that is athletic, fun to ride, and useful in a variety of ways. Hats off to you all, including the camera person!
Thanks, your comment - coming from a 'proper' horse person, means a lot. Flora is home bred, we still have her mum and dad (now gelded). she is a beautiful combination of sturdiness, enthusiasm, cleverness and clear-headedness. Next time, I will try to keep my head in all of the shots, too ;)
Laughed out loud at the funny bit. I think that's Tim's humor. I'm not a horse person, and I still loved video. Thanks for sharing original content with us ❤️
Actually...it's my humour, too!!!...Not to boast or anything, but I made this film single handedly...riding, filming (getting on the horse, off the horse, push the red button, on the horse...and so on...) and the editing, too. We take it in turns to make the films, and this time Tim's job was to give feedback and approve ;) Next video, roles are reversed...
The thing is it can get as technical as you want it to be! Especially when the jumps get higher and the jumping course gets tighter, and some competitions are timed...but we just jump for fun, so as long as we know enough to do it safely, that'll do for us!
I love your videos and your horses! I have a donkey now but maybe one day I'll have enough room for a horse! Thank you both for your videos, I taught our bee club about making wax foundation for our bees from Tim's on that.
I was lucky that I got riding lessons from age 9 into my mid teens in Germany (where they do riding lessons with a capital R and L ;) ), it really helps me now, can't deny the importance of the basics!
Thanks, Can I ask how tall you are ? We’ve just purchased 2 Gypsy mares from Poland for Greece , I’m paranoid I’m going to be too tall for them . Love your channel. Regards
I am 168cm or 5'6''. But slightly taller people have ridden my cobs, too, and that worked fine. It's more the rider's weight that should be considered. The weight a horse can safely carry depends on his fitness level, his conformation, the rider's riding ability, the sort of riding...but it is somewhere between 10-25% of the horse's body weight. hope this helps you....
Good questions, she would be a lovely mum with beautiful foals! But we cannot keep another horse, so the foal would need to be sold, and it would be hard to make the money back to raise the foal with the current situation. Plus, Flora has a few health issues which we can manage ok but they might be genetic so it would be not fair on any foal to risk it.
You have such a calming voice, Sandra. And Tim, of course... but you are... *wonderful* to listen to. I wish you could narrate my life :)
Calming yes, just look at the effect Sandra has on Flora!! Practically comatose!
Thanks, I feel flattered!!!
Flora is a lovely mare :) I absolutely love watch your videos, keep it up! Hello and warm regards from the Pacific Northwest!
WOW! Flora is flawless backwards even! ;) I love learning how you are teaching them. Thank you so much for sharing these videos.
Yes, we train them forwards and backwards, just in case...;)

How fun to see your progress with the horses! All of you seem much more confident now!
That's how it feels, I am very proud of Flora!
Looks like your arena footing is finally soft and springy! Fabulous!😃💝
Yes, it does work wonders. We couldn't go around very sharp turns in gallop, we might skid then......but we don't really do these abyways!

Now, I would give it 12 thumbs up!!! I beg your pardon, Sandra.
12, we never got that many from one person I think, thanks!!!
Very informative. I had a feeling that horse jumping was quite technical.

LOL at the end :) thank you so much for sharing with us 👍💚💙💜

That's great to hear!
Nice backup 🤠
Sandra, seems that you received a solid riding education in Ireland (or while you were still living in Germany)?
I was lucky that I got riding lessons from age 9 into my mid teens in Germany (where they do riding lessons with a capital R and L ;) ), it really helps me now, can't deny the importance of the basics!
How tall is flora? She is gorgeous😊 Irish cobs are best
So Tim will be riding next time ???
I think he will be hiding under the bed .
What a beautiful girl.
How tall is she .
Keep up these great videos .
She's 145cm - perfect size!
Thanks,
Can I ask how tall you are ?

Hi what is the measurements of your arena
Well not all horses are as smart or beautiful as Flora!!! ❤️
I totally agree :)
Why you are not breeding flora

Nice moonwalk there, Flora!
Thanks! 😊
Flora is easy to train.
It probably looks easy....but oh dear, did we work hard to get there. She is very even tempered but a bit lazy too and a day dreamer on top of it!
Which breed is flora?
She's an Irish Cob
YAY I'M FIRST!!!! LIKED!!
You are really cute.. ☮️💜
Im on a 8😅
