if you want to get the turbo to DPF clamp off easily, get some threaded rod with two nuts and some washers in between the tabs then wind the nuts out to spread it. Easy peasy.
Just wanted to say thankyou. Had the service vehicle soon warning and car went into limp mode. Diagnostic says dpf fault linked to regen error. Followed your video and shortly after it was back on the car it performed a regen itself. Seems to have cured the issue.
Thank you for making this video you helped my cousin save £400. To get heat shields of we used a 10mm spanner For the oxygen sensor we bought a 22mm universal oxygen sensor remover from Halfords. Note prior removing run the engine for at least 10mins because it will be impossible to get it off. For the other sensor we used a combination wrench. For the clamp up top we used 16mm deep socket. To get the clamp off we wedged it open by a pair of pliers so as we open, the top of the pliers pushed the clamp apart. To get the bracket bolts off from underneath use socket extensions same for the top bolts we bought a set for around £2 in euro car parts. For the small rubber pipe wiggle it off by a pair of pliers same thing to put it back on. Rest is easy to get off. Very important when it is fitted back ,don't connect the bottom part of the dpf just because when you start the engine and rev it the hot gas will push the remaining water or petrol out, it is worth putting an oil cacth pan or something similar under neath the connection. After that's done connect it back up. Also torque every nut and bolt back to specs we lost 5 nuts not tightening it to specs from the heath shields and almost lost a dpf bracket bolt. I hope this info helps if you doing this for the first time. Have problem free repair. Thanks for the video again
Your video and instructions have convinced me to give this a try. My insignia is in limp mode and the message on the dash says diesel particulate filter partially blocked continue driving. I can't get it over 55mph so the drive for 30 mins or so fast isnt possible. Going to try your method in the morning and see how it goes. Wish me luck lol.
It workedddd !! Nice one sebastian ,, though after this deep clean the ecu and egr need reprogramming and a remap should do nicely for the consumption !!
Hi, I have a vauxhall astra ecoflex 1.7 diesel 2013, can't find anything showing how to remove, any help would be appreciated. Engine light on with dpf light, saying its full. I've removed Cat from Peugeot 207 1.6 d but these are not as easy lol.
Thank you for the video! Based on this I was enough courage to start the job. Hopefully goes smoothly. Thank you for these. Did it require any remapping / relearning after assembling it back together? Greetings from Finland!
Doing this right now because of this video, cheers.. Add that filling it up then shaking it side to side loosens up alot of soot to, I had it running clear water from both side until I shook it 🤣
I have a problem. How did you get to the two upper bracket that's hold the dpf in place.. Ive taken thw two bolts from the bracket but there is another two from the upper bracket that i cant get to.That's the only thing holding back?
Hi Sebastian,i got a astra j 2.0cdti very similar to the Insignia.what was the steps for take the sensors out?.you unscrew them before take the dpf off the car or you just disconnect the cables.thanks
Hi sebastian. How did you know it was blocked before taken it off? What happened to me I tried pulling away It would not rev I put clutch in and gave it full revs then the dpf rubber pipe burst bit more revs after but runs rough. When you ran your car with dpf pipe broken did it sound like a compressor air line open that you can clearly here over the engine. When it first happened I thought I had a fast puncher. There's a lot of pressure from broken dpf pipe when running I don't know if this is normal?. Does this sound the same as your car. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you Matt.
Couldn't have done it without this vid , thanks However 2 inner bracket bolts are tricky to get at. I ran drain cleaner and descaler through it , running perfect
hi Sebastian...my insignia is 61 plate and has no power...is a slow runner......but no limp mode ..it can go up to 80 miles per hour but down the hill...up the hill is struggling...dash board message: dpf full continued driving mandatory...I had a split turbo pipe and replaced it today... then motorway...I'VE DONE 50 MILES and nothing...should I start taking off the filter and clean? and if I also clean the egr valve, would you say it's easy job? thx

SHAY MCCUSKER no as it’s a taxi I drive up and down the motor way and change the oil every 8000miles with castrol 5/30. it’s done 350k now and still going strong. I have only ever used shell Diesal I think one day she will just give up the ghost and go bang 😂😂. I was going to get a newer car in February this year but covid19 has fucked everything up.
South London hi, glad to hear that it serves you such a long time. Could you tell what year is it and is it a20dth engine? I have 2013 2.0 ecoflex one, runing now six months, only shell diesel. So wondering if yours is same year, as lot of info says that oil seal problem is mostly on 2009-2012 cars. Thanks

Do you know the torque specs ?
Very good advice! Thank you for these. Did it require any remapping / relearning after assembling it back together?
Did this after watching your video. You're right, not difficult to remove at all. I found the heat shields harder to undo. Thanks
Short and excellent video .
More information in 4 min than other videos that goes for hours

Would pouring diesel in it work to disolve the soot? Then you could pressure wash it.
this is your best bet if you want to do a heavy clean

However 2 inner bracket bolts are tricky to get at.
I ran drain cleaner and descaler through it , running perfect
How did you get to the 2 inner bolts pal
I used a short 10 spanner or ideally a thin wall socket , it's doesn't take much to loosen by hand
You have a radio DJ's voice 👍

Did you fix this issue? What was the cause?
Now how the heck did you get to the upper bracket nuts?! That's the last thing in my way...

Easier than you think
Oki i will do only with Karcher...

KEEP ONTOP OF YOUR OIL CHANGES EVERY 5000K AND USE CAR LUBE DPF CLEANER EVERY 2000 MILES SHOULD NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM
Thank you, sir
hi is car now works i hawe same problem
ivan horvat yes - works perfect - now done 3000 miles since works
thenks iam traing do that
What do you think if the DPF is totally blocked and the car won’t start? What should be the approach there and how much should I expect to shell out?
Remove, clean, dry and put back on
My insignia has done 215000 miles and never had a problem
