Update for smallflame85: As of July 17th, 2024, the very last pair of the old MBTA Orange Line trains (01280 & 01281), they were hauled away from Wellington yard (Medford), and sent to the Wareham St. area of Middleborough (AKA Middleboro), scrapped by Costello Dismantling. I'm glad that you managed to save the rollsign from the retired trains (Hawker Siddeley 01200 series). P.S. Start reaching out to Costello Dismantling, and reason with them about not scrapping every single MBTA Red Line train that gets retired. The headquarters is at the Cranberry Hwy. area of West Wareham.
Do you know if your backlight is florescent or led? I've been able to light the LED with a 12V adapter, I'll get back to you on the amperage. If it's florescent, you'll need the right ballast to light the bulb, which you can tell by the bulb type printed on the bulb.
Thanks for the advice. Just from the time period the rollsign is from. I would assume that the backlight is fluorescent. However if that worked for you I may try similar methods.
@@Inclixify I ask because the OL sign that I have is LED and the BL sign I have is florescent; it looks like MBTA retrofitted the OL signs with LED lighting after the Blue 0600s were retired. If you have LED, I used a 24V 2.5A AC/DC switching adapter wired to the two power terminals on top of the sign to get the it to light up. Video coming soon!

Very cool!
This is so cool! I have a Hawker Siddley orange line roll sign too. I was just wondering do you know the voltage for the backlight?

Any idea of any manufacturers or printers?
@BenTheMiner I'm not sure. No manufacturer or contact information printed on the roll either.
Do the R68 side roll sign
If it is in stock
That's one I don't have yet. I will when I do!
