Oh wow! I wasn't born yet, and had no idea PCCs were still in use in 1979. I do remember there being tracks and overhead wires on Cambridge St outside St Elizabeth's Hospital around 1987 or 1988. Only once did I ever see a streetcar running on those tracks around that time. It might have been a PCC, but don't fully remember. I also remember seeing PCC bodies sitting on sawhorses with the wheel assemblies missing outside of what I think was Watertown Yard around that timeframe as well.
They were in use on the green line right up until the end of 1985 when the arborway line closed. I was born in 77 and stayed in Newton so I remember them on the subway but I don’t know if I got to ride one then.
