Oh I forgot to mention, this is Part 1, we will have Part 2 on painting the Golf which will be absolutely amazing! Hit the like and follow for this build and review/race series!

Tamiya should just drop the toy grade chassis and bundle this body with the M07. Same goes for the TT02 slop we see so much.

Anyone complaining that the chassis hasn't changed since 2016 probably should've bought an M07 instead.

Exactly my thoughts, could be something with the shells, but I think m07 is also adjustable chassis? Thanks for the comment

@@milancheuk I think the M07 can be adjusted to the medium and long wheelbases but not the short 210mm wheelbase. Which does seem like a bit of an oversight from Tamiya.
I don't know off-hand. They're still too expensive for me to throw money at. Haha.

I like the M05. I converted mine to the Ver. II chassis. It's a lot better. You didn't trim the body before painting? Well that's different.

Thank you for this. I am not sure what Version II looks like, might have to check that out, but now I have bought M07 also so will do a comparison. Regarding trimming the body, this is the way my friend does it and it seems to make sense as well to me lately, it's easier to see the lines where to cut if nothing else :). Thanks for the comment!

Why are you a mix of plastic bearings and ball bearings? I suggest always to use ball bearings all around, and CVA oil dampers instead of friction dampers. Most Tamiya kits dont need any other tuning than that.

I didn’t get the bearing kit when I got the car so I improvised with some I had. Later I had a full kit and rebuild them all. I also did get the CVA oil dampers they made a world of difference to the handling! Thanks for your comment!

M05 V2 Pro was my favorite chassis it had so many love with aftermarket parts compared to the M08R I have now but out the box the M05 was king of fun for me

Would love to try M08, are you running brushless ?

@@milancheuk Brushless Hobbywing 17.5. I like that you have adjustability now cause out the box with a hpi BMW body it rolls so thank goodness for the turnbuckles. The M05 I remember just adding weights around the battery area to stop rolling and after that it was the easiest and most fun to drive.

Just put the body and spraycan in the ovn on 40-60 degree's Celsius for about 30-60min, spray and repeat.
