Sometimes i wonder about our educational system. If people actually paid attention in world history classes they would have realized this already. Women were actually taught how to run households. When they married they were given the keys to the new husband's home. They ran everything that happened in that castle. Wives had to have knowledge of how to make a kingdom profitable. If a titled man had an irresponsible wife his whole baroney or kingdom could starve during the winter. She had to know how to bring in money as well as how to wisely spend it. Her husband ruled and protects the kingdom. As well as procurring political gain to get more wealth and land. But if you had a bad manager or someone with a bad reputation it reflected poorly and could destroy wealth. In context this was mostly for the noble and royal women and to a lesser degree peasant women. Okay rant over.
