I've been using Titanium leader for sometime now, using a #1 or #2 crimp sleeve, depending on the thickness of the wire. The other day I used 55 lb. Titanium leader to tie it directly to a large 8 inch Wahoo diving plug, that we slow trolled with at around eight mph. The wire snapped right above the crimp and gone was the lure. The same results after losing two more expensive plugs. I suspect the back and forth radical action of the deep diving large plug was the cause. I will give your figure eight knot a try - thanks

Its hard to see the figure 8 knot while you doing it. Is there another reference you have that shows it better?

Doesn't the wire cut the mono main line ? As it's still wire ?
can you used pure titanium or nitinol wire?
