- The Complete Guide to Retouching and Editing Newborn Photos in Photoshop! Right from using Adobe Camera Raw, to Skin Retouching, Sculpting, Color Correction, Shaping the Light and so much more! Today, we are going to learn every process step by step in-depth.
In this tutorial, we will cover various techniques. First, we will learn how to do minimal adjustments in Adobe Camera Raw to prepare the image for further processing. Then, we will set the structure right using Liquify and learn few tips on the right way to use it. After this segment, we will be using the "Patch Tool" to remove blemishes and learn a trick to do it more efficiently to locate the blemishes better.
Once we get the structure right, we will dive into skin retouching. Firstly, we will start with sculpting the skin and repairing imperfections like harsh shadows or patches. Then, using a very quick technique, we will soften the skin and keep a beautiful skin texture. As a bonus tip, we will how to add a rich skin tone. After this, we will finally look at the color of the skin using Hue/Saturation Adjustment layers.
We then will shape the light and add punch to out image using Curves. At the end, we will learn how to perform some advanced sharpening.

Simply the best workflow for editing toddlers (2-4 year olds). Not so much detail required as this example (more clothing, less skin), but this process is by far the most comprehensive and easy to follow.

Hi Unmesh, would be great if you can add a video for getting the black glass reflection effect as seen in this image. Thanks!
It is not possible to simulate the reflection to a level it is not obvious and look natural. Yet people still trying to create fakes reflections just by flipping the image and blending together. Please don't do this. It looks hilariously bad. The fundamental problem is that the object seen in reflection appears to be shot in different angle. Just imagine, that instead of the mirror, there is a glass and real object is on the other side. Look at the baby, it's right ear is visible in real, but not in reflection, look at the feet. Check also where the reflection "touches" the real world. It is not a straight line. You have whole new geometry, which is impossible to recreate and part of the geometry you cannot see in real life, but will be visible in reflection and vice versa. And further the camera is from the mirror (bigger the angle), the more ridiculous any attempt to fake reflection will become. Once you see it, you cannot unsee it ;)
