Maybe people don't believe their answer, but at this point, even if they stop making consoles, I don't understand why people just don't continue buying what they want until what they want stops existing. If XBox consoles goes away, but they can still play their games on PC or Playstation or something, I don't get what the big deal is.

As long as Microsoft keeps making consoles whether that be what we have now or PC-like machines that run on the Xbox OS I'll be happy. The more places we have to play our games the better so i dont see the hate towards it.

I feel like the disservice to the ps5 pro was the rumors that were so out of control. I would have paid 700+ for the crazy console the rumors said was coming but compared to them the ps5 pro is a disappointment. I know it shouldn’t be because it really only existed in my head but I can’t really separate from that disappointment

My kid has zero interest in COD, Fortnite or Apex, it's more teenagers than kids that play that. Yes I know teenagers are still technically kids but I always like to put pre teenagers and teenagers into separate groups as they have vastly different gaming tastes. My kid only plays Roblox as that's pretty much better than Minecraft and Lego combined in terms of what you can make with it.

They bounce around playing these games because it doesn’t require focused thought. Just imagination. No timer, no mission structure. Just play. There are preteens who play also. But I see the future. It’s them. They actually use the “Looking For..” messaging feature to find players in their age groups.
For the ps5 pro "game boost" is for games that aren't enhanced. Just like it was for the ps4 pro. That being said if you are claiming up to 45% and you are avg 20% below that I'd say you mislead people. If your ISP provider promised you up to a 1gb speed at the router and you avg 800 they would be giving you a discount while they fixed the issue. A lie is a lie. I don't think thats a big deal cause its not the main selling point but they still told a lie.
I think Sony has a Horizon problem. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but you’re wasting away on the Alloy basket. Hopefully we get a third game soon, but man, this Horizon MMO idea just isn’t going to work as evidence by the infamous flop that was Concord. And Guerrilla Games, unfortunately, has become a shell of its former self. I still miss Killzone and us gamers want a new game or remake to the now 20-year-old PS2 classic.

Well, to be fair, it also includes a 2TB hard drive 🤷🏽♂️. If you wanted to get any Apple computer and go from 1TB SSD to a 2TB SSD, that alone will easily go from $200 to $400 dollars. Now I do understand that they're two different applications. But the fact that you also get an improved GPU and faster SSD speeds, is relatively a very good price.
I like the idea very much in principle, but how are they going to subsidize it? Also, it has been tried in the past with MSX, 3DO and Steamboxes. Only MSX could somewhat be considered as a success I think and only in Japan and certain European countries.

Like the XSS and XSX with possible more versions depending on the configuration. If Sony subsidizes their console and say it's $500 and MS's third party manufacturers offer the same console powerwise, but for $800 (because unlike Sony they need to profit on the hardware immediately) it's going to be a tough sell I think. I really hope MS or Valve can find a way to make it work. It would be pretty great to have a ready made affordable box with the capabilities of a pc and the convenience of a console.
Actual Lego figurines of Horizon is very popular and have sold well. Lego the company is the one who asked Sony to make a Lego Horizon game. So this game is less for Horizon fans, and more for Lego fans lol
It's pretty simple JayWood, all of this Xbox hate stems back from 2013 with the disastrous Xbox One reveal. These people just can't seem to let it go. The original Xbox and Xbox 360 never generated this type of hate, all of this hate came after the Xbox One and it's followed them all the way to today. Now media outlets and fanboys alike will attack anything Xbox whether it's good or bad, but this is the truth whether people want to admit this or not. This is coming from someone who didn't like the reveal of the Xbox One either and chose to go straight PS4 all gen and never owned a Xbox One.
The original Xbox and X360 had some of the best games of their generations. The Xbox One and Series X don't even come close. I think that's more of a reason.

The reason people were talking about the so-called "Xbox tax" is because there was a clear distinctive hate toward Xbox with media outlets and fanboys alike. If Playstation did what Xbox did, it'll briefly get talked about but then forgotten about the next day. If Xbox did it, it would always be doom and gloom and would get talked about almost all week with numerous articles published by media outlets. It's about the principal of one company being scrutinized while the other gets a free pass. That doesn't have anything to do with the games or lack thereof, it's something else deep rooted entirely man.
That's when Xbox had good consoles, the Og Xbox and the 360 particularly were excellent consoles,rrod aside for the 360 but it was a very good console with great games and was a significant leap up from the Og Xbox.

Most of us from that time was on the fence of whether we wanted a Xbox One or a PS4 due to most of us having a PS3 and/or 360. The reveal of the One made that decision easy for us and Sony capitalized on their mistake with their ads saying you can "own your games" and supporting discs. PS used that ammunition to pay publishers to gate keep titles from Xbox like FF7 remake and SF5, etc. That blow caused Xbox a lot of hate from that time and they've never recovered from it. PS was regarded as the savior at that time which is why they get a pass of the things they do today. While Xbox was the villain and still is regarded as such today. We gotta be honest and admit that the community wants to stomp Xbox out of existence since the reveal of the Xbox One.
I'm sure that if the PS5 Pro was $500 the reviews would be mostly positive the fact that it's cost is out of most people's budget is why it's getting so much hate I've been very impressed with the Pro I am actually excited to complete a lot of my older games it's going to be interesting to see how future games are going to be optimized for the Pro.
Yeah the awards show should be held in January that way games that come out in November or December that may have gotten delayed for reasons can still get picked for different award categories instead of waiting all the way until next year's awards where they're forgotten by then
Just wanna speak up and say The Game Awards jury (over 100 gaming media outlets from around the world) do indeed nominate Nov/Dec games however it’s for the following year. Examples of this are Jedi Fallen Order and Smash Ultimate, BUT I do agree it should be in January to keep things simple.
I'd rather have The Game Awards in the following year, like the Oscars and other award shows. They all have many, many problems, but I'd rather see them cover the whole year.

Is it really that expensive? I don't have one and dob't plan on buying one, but I have a tv of around €2000 and a soundbar of around a €1000. A good gaming machine for €800 is not that bad. A good gaming pc will set you back twice that or even more

I love the This is an Xbox add. Controversy surrounding consoles in this day and age is it bit ridiculous. I have two Xboxes and barely touch them I play on my tablet and my ROG Ally X 95% of the time. It's great to have this capability because I'm on the road quite bit as well. This ad isn't really that damaging it's showing that you can play Xbox anywhere on pretty much anything. The main box is still THE Xbox, but you have more options to continue playing what you were playing wherever you go without missing a beat. No more lugging around your console just bring an tablet, or a phone and a comtroller you're good to go and can finish whatever game you were playing. But if you wanna doom and gloom domt forget we still have the backbones and raze keshis that have been around for far longer. So none of this is really new. PS fanboys are the ones who are going to be running with this making it seem like a bad thing. When actually you can do the same thing with PlayStation soooo.....its not any different. And we'll see somy do the same later down the road. They always follow Xbox ever since Xbox became a thing they have copied them and nintendo. Until I can play all my Xbox games & access all available Xbox games on those devices - NONE of them are an Xbox. Being able to play Game Pass or stream select games on the cloud only makes them Xbox-adjacent.

My kid has zero interest in COD, Fortnite or Apex, it's more teenagers than kids that play that. Yes I know teenagers are still technically kids but I always like to put pre teenagers and teenagers into separate groups as they have vastly different gaming tastes. My kid only plays Roblox as that's pretty much better than Minecraft and Lego combined in terms of what you can make with it.
@ My kid is 9. His whole friendlist is filled with other kids his age Who play those same games. They took over. And especially with game pass and free to play games. They bounce around playing these games because it doesn’t require focused thought. Just imagination. No timer, no mission structure. Just play. There are preteens who play also. But I see the future. It’s them. They actually use the “Looking For..” messaging feature to find players in their age groups.
For the ps5 pro "game boost" is for games that aren't enhanced. Just like it was for the ps4 pro. That being said if you are claiming up to 45% and you are avg 20% below that I'd say you mislead people.
If your ISP provider promised you up to a 1gb speed at the router and you avg 800 they would be giving you a discount while they fixed the issue.

I think Sony has a Horizon problem. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but you’re wasting away on the Alloy basket. Hopefully we get a third game soon, but man, this Horizon MMO idea just isn’t going to work as evidence by the infamous flop that was Concord. And Guerrilla Games, unfortunately, has become a shell of its former self. I still miss Killzone and us gamers want a new game or remake to the now 20-year-old PS2 classic.

Well, to be fair, it also includes a 2TB hard drive 🤷🏽♂️. If you wanted to get any Apple computer and go from 1TB SSD to a 2TB SSD, that alone will easily go from $200 to $400 dollars. Now I do understand that they're two different applications. But the fact that you also get an improved GPU and faster SSD speeds, is relatively a very good price.
I swear I heard that they may get 3rd parties to build their Xbox consoles. That would take a lot off of their shoulders.
I like the idea very much in principle, but how are they going to subsidize it? Also, it has been tried in the past with MSX, 3DO and Steamboxes. Only MSX could somewhat be considered as a success I think and only in Japan and certain European countries.

Like the XSS and XSX with possible more versions depending on the configuration. I can't see MS being able to build the next most powerful machine in house and sell it at a loss but I am no analyst just a gamer with thoughts
@@jbivvy420 yes, there should be multiple configurations. The tricky part though is the economics. If Sony subsidizes their console and say it's $500 and MS's third party manufacturers offer the same console powerwise, but for $800 (because unlike Sony they need to profit on the hardware immediately) it's going to be a tough sell I think. I really hope MS or Valve can find a way to make it work. It would be pretty great to have a ready made affordable box with the capabilities of a pc and the convenience of a console.
Actual Lego figurines of Horizon is very popular and have sold well. Lego the company is the one who asked Sony to make a Lego Horizon game. So this game is less for Horizon fans, and more for Lego fans lol
It's pretty simple JayWood, all of this Xbox hate stems back from 2013 with the disastrous Xbox One reveal. These people just can't seem to let it go. The original Xbox and Xbox 360 never generated this type of hate, all of this hate came after the Xbox One and it's followed them all the way to today. Now media outlets and fanboys alike will attack anything Xbox whether it's good or bad, but this is the truth whether people want to admit this or not.
This is coming from someone who didn't like the reveal of the Xbox One either and chose to go straight PS4 all gen and never owned a Xbox One.
The original Xbox and X360 had some of the best games of their generations. The Xbox One and Series X don't even come close. I think that's more of a reason.

The reason people were talking about the so-called "Xbox tax" is because there was a clear distinctive hate toward Xbox with media outlets and fanboys alike. If Playstation did what Xbox did, it'll briefly get talked about but then forgotten about the next day. If Xbox did it, it would always be doom and gloom and would get talked about almost all week with numerous articles published by media outlets. It's about the principal of one company being scrutinized while the other gets a free pass. That doesn't have anything to do with the games or lack thereof, it's something else deep rooted entirely man.

That's when Xbox had good consoles, the Og Xbox and the 360 particularly were excellent consoles,rrod aside for the 360 but it was a very good console with great games and was a significant leap up from the Og Xbox.

Most of us from that time was on the fence of whether we wanted a Xbox One or a PS4 due to most of us having a PS3 and/or 360. The reveal of the One made that decision easy for us and Sony capitalized on their mistake with their ads saying you can "own your games" and supporting discs. PS used that ammunition to pay publishers to gate keep titles from Xbox like FF7 remake and SF5, etc. That blow caused Xbox a lot of hate from that time and they've never recovered from it. PS was regarded as the savior at that time which is why they get a pass of the things they do today. While Xbox was the villain and still is regarded as such today. We gotta be honest and admit that the community wants to stomp Xbox out of existence since the reveal of the Xbox One.

I'm sure that if the PS5 Pro was $500 the reviews would be mostly positive the fact that it's cost is out of most people's budget is why it's getting so much hate I've been very impressed with the Pro I am actually excited to complete a lot of my older games it's going to be interesting to see how future games are going to be optimized for the Pro.

Just wanna speak up and say The Game Awards jury (over 100 gaming media outlets from around the world) do indeed nominate Nov/Dec games however it’s for the following year. Examples of this are Jedi Fallen Order and Smash Ultimate, BUT I do agree it should be in January to keep things simple.

Is it really that expensive? I don't have one and dob't plan on buying one, but I have a tv of around €2000 and a soundbar of around a €1000. A good gaming machine for €800 is not that bad. A good gaming pc will set you back twice that or even more

Why would I care that there are $10K tv's or $2K phones? You don't have to get one. There are plenty of cheap alternatives out there. I love the This is an Xbox add. Controversy surrounding consoles in this day and age is it bit ridiculous. I have two Xboxes and barely touch them I play on my tablet and my ROG Ally X 95% of the time. It's great to have this capability because I'm on the road quite bit as well. This ad isn't really that damaging it's showing that you can play Xbox anywhere on pretty much anything. The main box is still THE Xbox, but you have more options to continue playing what you were playing wherever you go without missing a beat. No more lugging around your console just bring an tablet, or a phone and a comtroller you're good to go and can finish whatever game you were playing. But if you wanna doom and gloom domt forget we still have the backbones and raze keshis that have been around for far longer. So none of this is really new. PS fanboys are the ones who are going to be running with this making it seem like a bad thing. When actually you can do the same thing with PlayStation soooo.....its not any different. And we'll see somy do the same later down the road. They always follow Xbox ever since Xbox became a thing they have copied them and nintendo.
